Four years ago, at this exact time (more or less), I happened to register on Vizzed.

It’s impressive I’ve made it this far, even more when it seemed I’d fall down at some points. This is by far the longest I’ve been fully active on any site before going MIA, as long as I recall, but surely the site where I’ve done the most and where I actually feel the time I’ve invested has had an impact on me as well.

These last 365 days haven’t been as incredible as in the past. The only remarkable thing is how I’ve risen to the top of the CP standings, which is quite incredible. Besides that, I guess I could note that I’m still staff, and it’s curious to note that this Sunday will mark three years since I joined the team. It seems like yesterday when I saw my staff thread opened and my username between two lines, but it’s been so long that the thread is now 19 pages long (that should be another milestone for me, and a very hard one to beat too).

Anyway, that’s basically it. These four years have been an awesome trip, but I’m not at my peak and thus I can’t enjoy it as much anymore. I’m even having trouble to type this thread, just having motivation for my staff role and barely anything else. Not sure if I’ll make it to the veteran status while still active, but I won’t go down without a fight and I’ll stick around until the very last moment.

Here’s to who knows how much more time!

Congrats buddy!  Time for sure goes fast. Anyway, stay strong and don't ever give up! After all, "it ain't over, 'till it's over."

Congratulation on the big achievement. Mine two year anniversary is coming up in April. Times flies on this site. 

Congrats on one year away from half a decade with your account! I also remember when you went straight from member to staff member, which is impressive no matter what time it takes place. I think that was either before or at the same time I joined the team. It's nice to hear you're still committed to your staff role. Keep enjoying it!

This is the kind of site where, for some users, it can actually be easy to stay here for a long time. I'll be a veteran in October.

Tama10 : There's a time when you have to give up. After all, real life comes first, and I'm at a time where I must start to take tough decisions. The time I put into this site has been decreasing over the last year but it has given me results in real life, so I'll continue this way if it's for the best of all.

I WIn Also : Yeah, time surely flies. This last year has felt like an eternity for not having any truly exciting moments, but looking back on my history everything seems so far away...

Pacman+Mariofan : Yeah, it's quite funny how I've never been Trusted or Elite yet I've been staff and local and I'm one year away from becoming veteran. Maybe there goes a reason for me to stick to my staff role, who knows

That's something to brag about in your veteran thread! I think that's a good reason to stay staff longer. It would be funny if your thought process was, "No, I refuse to go down a rank after skipping one!"

About what you stated to Tama, I can tell you for sure you're doing the right thing by trading time on the site for extra time for real life decisions. I've told other users many times that I can't promise I'll be on the site much during college, especially in my first year when I'm learning the ropes.

Also, while I'm getting great support for my rainbow banner run I'm not going to overcommit to get it. That wouldn't be earning it, it would just be wasting my time when I could be helping my family and friends enjoy their summer.

EX Palen : Happy anniversary sorry for being a bit late some things came up urgently I had to sort out before getting onto vizzed. Wow....been 4 years already? Its great still seeing you around on the site doing the little things you can to help out. You've come a long way.

Pacman+Mariofan : You're basically saying I should stay staff+ forever more if I don't want to go down a rank I already skipped. I don't think I could manage that, we all need breaks from time to time, but staying like that until veteran is something to consider, specially given the current circumstances.

And yeah, trading site time for real life was something I needed to do for a long while. The change is noticeable, and it also kind of lessens the burden on my shoulders for being more free to do what I want around here without being imposed to do anything. In complicated times like I'm having in real life, it's the correct choice.

Eniitan : Hey, you passed by! Always nice to see you poking around. I wish I could actually do more so I could return to Vizzed part of what it has given me, but like I said I'm undergoing complicated times like most people and I must sacrifice a few things to focus in what's important.

The part about staying staff forever was a joke, but I think you should do it until you're a veteran if it doesn't get in the way of real life priorities. Yeah, we all need breaks. I didn't even stay staff for a year because school slapped and sapped my energy from me. Hopefully that won't happen again because I want to be more active than a typical elite vizzed member.

Don't let Vizzed get in your way of your private life. Things happens and things that happen in real life must comes first. We all are here when you come back. So don't worry about us. You also are a great staff member. So you got that going for you witch is nice to think about when life gives you lemons. 

It may only go downhill from here I'm afraid. Just try to have fun and enjoy yourself.

You never know you might enjoy the site more if you just chill for a bit.... It helped me a lot anyways... because well I used to get irritated a lot by certain events...

Regardless I'm sure you can make it to veteran status... let's just hope the site stays around that long to begin with..

Sonicmcmuffin : Well, I chilled down and it has worked a bit. I've started posting again rather frequently when I could go for days without posting. Focusing just on my staff role seems the good way to go, and so I'll continue for as long as I can.

I don't see the site closing down a year from now unless a catastrophe was to happen. The site's not doing great, but at least it can be kept alive.
