Ugh, June... It's not even technically summer yet and it's already almost 90 degrees outside (where I live it'll be in the 90's all week)... As you've already seen from the title of this thread, I can't stand summer. Below I'm going to list 10 reasons why I wish we could just skip it altogether.

1. The freaking heat

This is the most obvious reason. Whenever the temperature is 85 degrees or higher, I start feeling extremely uncomfortable and exhausted.

2. The Humidity

For someone like me who lives in Ohio, the humidity on most summer days is unbearable. The humidity in particular is probably the biggest cause for my next reason of hating summer.

3. Sweat

With the heat and humidity comes sweat...

4. The bugs

I can handle most types of bugs, but summer is when you start seeing the most bees and wasps around. Having to deal with them at the workplace is one of the most annoying things period.

5. Hot car

When you're going back to the car after getting groceries for example. Opening the car and dealing with all that hot air that got trapped makes it hard to breathe. Until the car's been on and the AC can circulate through the car, it feels terrible.

6. Sunburn

Now I haven't had this issue in a long time, but I do know how much sunburn can hurt. I'll have to deal with it again at some point, but for now this one isn't as high as it once was on my list.

7. The sun's too bright

Unless there's rain or clouds in the forecast, the sun's so bright to where when I finally go inside, it takes a little bit to get adjusted.

8. Ice cream melts too fast

When I go to a Wendy's in the summer to get a Frosty from the drive thru for example, it's already melted for the most part by the time I get it. Same thing for most other places at this time of year. That's why I never get anything like that from a drive thru unless it's a DQ Blizzard.

9. Lack of quality TV shows

During summer, there are only 2 shows I ever watch, America's Got Talent and MasterChef. Besides those two, there's never anything worth watching during the summer.

10. Most of the good sports are over

Aside from Tennis and Golf, there really isn't any good sports on TV. I know there's baseball, but I've never really been a fan of watching it on TV.

I know there's plenty of people who love summer, and that's fine. If you guys have any other reasons you hate summer that I didn't list or if there's a bunch of reasons you like summer, feel free to post them on this thread.

If you get uncomfortable at 85, don't ever come to Spain except for the northern and north-western regions. Already in June, we don't go below that temperature even during the night, so imagine July and August. The thing is that it's extending towards September as well, and personally I've attended school and university the last years with shorts throughout most or all of October.

Bugs are indeed a pain. You're already feeling asleep, drifting between dreams and reality, then you hear that horrible noise of a mosquito wandering about. A few nights ago, I had to wait like +40 minutes so my repel made effect to get rid of a stupid mosquito.

About sports, you have to follow sports which have a full calendar season instead of being divided in two years. Tennis and golf are two good examples, but how about motorsports like NASCAR and IndyCar? I follow the latter and it has had four races in the last three weekends, I know the NASCAR has a lot more races throughout a season so I don't discard they're also going all out with races every weekend.

I do love summer because I prefer melting down than being frozen solid I agree that it may not be an enjoyable season even for me, but the good things it has to offer outclass the bad things, at least in my honest opinion. Mom hates the summer, though, so one of the worst things about this season is hearing her complaints through four or five months

Personally I love the heat. I would much rather be too hot than too cold. Let me try to counter your 10 reasons just for fun ...

1. The freaking heat - stay inside. Inside means air conditioning, doesn't it?

2. The humidity - this is a tough one to tolerate. At least its not dry, though. Humidity makes it uncomfortable, I will give you that.

3. Sweat - sweating is good for you. Just keep drinking water!

4. The bugs - there is such a thing as bug spray ... I promise.

5. Hot car - again ... air conditioning.

6. Sunburn - its called sunscreen. If you're worried about the oil in some screens, they do make oil - free sunblock.

7. The sun's too bright - I mean, you're not looking at it, are you? Sunglasses help, too.

8. Ice cream melts too fast - if you put it in a freezer, it'll be okay.

9. Lack of quality TV shows - new season of Game of Thrones comes out ... how dare you!

10. Most of the good sports are over - well, I can tell you the best one is about to start ... and I think you know which one it is!

Again, this was just a goof. I cannot stress that enough! XD

I agree with 1-7 So much I can't even say. 8-10 don't affect me really, so meh.
But yes, Summer is evil. I can't stand heat or direct sunlight usually, and Summer intensifies both to an insane level here, so much so that I find myself counting the days to Autumn beginning around mid spring. lol It's just so bad here during the summer time. :/

My biggest issue is that heat makes it difficult for me to breathe, and even inside the temperature goes up in Summer. D: Plus so much humidity here that your lungs are absolutely assaulted by this oppressive blanket of water/air hybrid that tries to suffocate you. lol Bleh.

I agree with you on most parts. Here are the things I do not like about Summer.

1. The heat. In my area it often gets 95-100 but the humidity makes it feel like 100-105. Nights can be very muggy with lows in the 70's.

2. Dryness. In my area Summer is our driest season most precipitation comes in hit and miss isolated thunderstorms.

3. Swelling and air quality. This is tied in to the heat. I have a lung condition when it gets real hot sometimes my fingers swell up also I don't breathe to well due to the air and heat.

4. Ticks- Ticks peak in my area during the late summer and early fall. They have been a nuisance this year

5. traffic- It just seems there is more traffic in the summer

6. Fireworks- I hate fireworks don't judge. They scare pets, can catch things on fire, and they often shoot those that make a screaming sound. I have high functioning autism so the screaming sound annoys me.

7. crowds- Summer brings out the crowds everywhere

8. Summer type weeds- Summer seems to bring out the weeds these are a nuisance in my gardens. Polk Salad is one of the more invasive ones.
