Our parents have a really important role in our lives. Whether you live with both, with one of them because they divorced or without them because [insert reason]... They are very important in your life. You're their child and you always will be! Although it's a fact at some houses that the parents aren't really good to (their) children, but they still have an important role.

So our topic here is saying thanks to your parents with a gift. That gift can be anything: Flowers, a letter/e-mail, something they like, something they collect... Again, it can be anything, even something you made yourself. But then is the question: Why do you want to thank your parents like this if you did? Are/Were they great parents to you and/or to your siblings? (If you have siblings, that is) Are you happy YOU supported them in your life? Or is it another reason?

I would definitely thank my parents with flowers once i'm older, but my mom is allergic to pollen, just like me. But my mom loves to collect witches and my stepfather loves to collect wolf statues. So i guess i'll make a witch and a wolf statue as one piece. But i just want to thank them both for raising me. For letting me be here.

I don't think you need to be someone going down the Chimmy to answer this question.

My Parents have always been great to me and my siblings. And they may do bad stuff to some degree; but never let it be said that there's never a reason for a Parent's punishment or Decision.

Parents are the whole reason you exist.   I usually get my parents and siblings some snacks, my parents  usually get me some kinda coke or drink from the store while they are there.  What I realized early on is that they don't have to do any of that of course, but the fact that they do makes me very thankful.

So Whenever I get the chance to,  I usually go to the store and get some snacks and some Cokes.

Yes I know that food probably isn't the best thing you can get your family, but with them paying the bills and having a good chunk of stuff already;the question would be"What can I get them that they don't already have?" So that's why I like getting snacks and Cokes, it's simple and it works.

Really if you're questioning yourself "Why" you should get your parents a gift as a thanks for everything they done, then you really aren't grateful or just don't understand just how much Your Parents do for you in the first place.

And yes, I know you're just asking the question but I think that's something that generally needs to be said.

Now if the parents are generally awful and don't give a dang about you, then that pretty much means I don't feel like I want to get you anything.  Yes you may have raised me, but as a Parent your job is to generally influence your kids and treat them right.

And I have seen lots of awful people out there who'd even prioritize Pokémon go over their children.   Just another reason why I'm glad I have my family. (last edited by SuperCrash64 on 11-17-16 09:58 AM)

Crash pretty much summed up most things that needed to be said. I do what I can to gift my mother things to show her I am grateful for how she raised me. As for my siblings as well IF or when I do have the money I spend to thank them for what they have done. Like being in my life and such. Since not all children are fortunate, other parents wouldn't care about them to an extent. So when you are raised well with a good influence its always best to say thank you once in a while with a gift.

I won't be giving any gifts or presents at all to the people I live with once I leave. I really have no reason to and they would probably hate me if I ever gave them something when I leave. Heck, even now I have to ask permission to give them something.

Because I am grateful for everything that they have done. They gave birth to me, they took care of me, they feed me, they help me survive. Even though they may have a few flaws, even though they may be somewhat "bad", I am still grateful because I don't have any other parents.
