So everyone else has made their anniversary threads a tad bit early, guess I'll join that trend.

Anyways It's been an amazing ride:

I have alot on my mind and hopefully yall will see my comments for the better:

Why I went inactive and my opinions on some subjects:

Now I don't mean to offend anybody or even David himself when saying this, but the RGR did give a huge problem towards my inactivity.

What was the problem with the RGR?

This was specfically towards me playing any sort of Nintendo 64 games on my former computer. Now I'm not sure if it's the RGR, or it's my  computer not liking it, or something else entirely.

Basically what Happened: Anytime I launched up an N64 Rom, my computer would instantly go towards a blue screen.

It eventually caused my computer to stop working.

What else could be wrong with the rgr?

I've had my fair share of problems, but I'm not sure if it was the RGR or my Computer.

But again I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this:
But I've seen threads from other members even newbies at that, saying the Rgr has given them problems,  and usually their threads were edited and trashed:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=90254

I hate seeing people's problems get edited and trashed.  I mean I get it, you want this site to have great comments/reviews  and it does just fine at that.

But this is the internet,  users only make threads like that to help yall out instead and try to make the site greater. All because someones thoughts or problems are different doesn't mean it should be trashed and entirely edited out; it should be throughly looked into.

The site its self:

Personally I like the rest of the site, it's rest of the members are pretty friendly, through and there.

We have drama, we had our fair share of problems, but at the end of a day like a true family, we somehow get passed through that.

That is one quality no other site like vizzed has gotten. I've seen plenty of Toxic communities from other sites, and this site is far from anything of the kind.

So Kudos to that.

I originally found the site, because I was looking around for roms, this place had just about everything you can dream of..

Comments on some members I know:
Eniitan:

Your still really helpful to this day, and without great members like yourself, I don't think the site would be nearly as good as it is now.
Because let's face facts, a nice member can make a world of difference to someone,  You did that to me, you helped out barathemos.

And you did a lot of stuff that just generally screamed kindness and awesomeness, like a majority of your poetry threads; they always send a nice, powerful, and strong message towards the end.

You deserved that reward and thats why I felt the need to vote for you.

mohammedroxx3 :

This is like  a weird case of awkward..

I mean I went inactive on your anniversary..

Now you're kinda inactive on mine..

We had our fair share of laughs, memories, and even modding.
I would loved to continue modding that forum with you and bara, and the fact that I couldn't upsetted me.

I hope one day we could come back, play some sonic hacks, and maybe go on a posting spree with bara and other members one day.

Barathemos :

Speaking of yourself.. I'm generally surprised.

You took it up, and you changed. That's quite impressive, after the years went by I've seen a lot of adults who still act very immature, and kept holding grudges against members.

You are a posting legend bud, there's nothing else I can say.

I'm hoping the Exams will turn out great for the likes of yourself, and maybe one day. We can see more posting spree's from you.

That banning incident.. I can't help but feel sorry about that.

I was my immature self, and I was kinda panicked, Because I saw someone doing this, and they claimed they were you, I was stupid to believe that.

I hope one day, you can forgive me for what I did, if not I understand.

yoshirulez! :

Sup brotha'   ironic how stuff changes,  We met when I was staff ,and now your a staff yourself.

Hope you continue to do well on this site.

This post goes out to both of you, because yall two are some people I wanna try getting along with and getting to know better , but I just can't see myself being active enough to do so.

Yall are some of the nicest members, and I look foward to seeing what else yall come up with.
Yall have also given me great advice like everyone else.

Sword legion :
Dude that 3 bookstory was amazing,   I've never seen such a long read with the chapters.
The boy gasping for air, and then struggling to find his home.

There's no doubt you got talent for making great storys for doing so, and I look forward to reading more of that saga if possible.

Well done man, well done.

There's a few other members I wanna summon, but they aren't entirely active.

SuperCrash64 : Speaking as a person that's constantly helping people in the RGR forum as well as the Staff inbox and netplay chat along with Vanelan and tRIUNE(mainly, but a few others as well)I dispute your comment regarding a ton of people who have asked for help getting their threads trashed/edited without any answer. I would counter that what you describe almost NEVER happens since I've been here. We go out of our way to provide the best support we possibly can. I would ask you to point to one instance where a thread got trashed and we didn't try everything we could to help the user out.

Since we often have to go off of vague statements (similar to the ones you express here) and we can't actually look at the users computer personally, we often have to guess what the problem is.

Are there sometimes issues with Emulation in general and the RGR plugin specifically? Sure, but for the majority of people, this site is the easiest way to get them up and running without needing a lot of computer knowledge.

If your computer is blue screening. That points to a problem within windows. Again, depending on specifics and what error message you were getting. A quick google search of the windows error will point you to the specific problem. Usually this is Win registry failure, or hardware failure. But re-installing windows or restoring it to a point where it worked better is generally the first plan of attack.

N64 games actually require a half way decent computer, so if you were using a 10 year old PC, that would probably point to the problem.

Also, did you ever create threads regarding the issues you were having? Did anyone point you to some things to try to try to determine the cause of the problem?

Jordanv78 :

Well my computer at first was actually running the N64 games just fine..

Then all of a sudden later on it was giving me problems.

I was on a Computer that was on XP, and I didn't recall having any firewalls or anything turned on that may have struggled the issue.

I should've made a thread about it, but  I just couldn't find a way to explain it without confusing anyone.

That's old business anyways, I brought up because

1)some members were wanting an explantation to why I went inactive.

2) I've read some threads claiming the RGR was being flagged as a virus for some reason, maybe that might've been related to it.

I can somehow relate to what you went through. One day, PSX was working fine, but then they started lagging as hell. I haven't give it much importance, as PSX has never truly worked for me, but I've reported it even to David himself, and not even him has all the answers.

Every computer is different. There's people capable of playing Dreamcast normally, while my computer over ventilates and thus makes a lot of unwanted noise. There's people playing Sega Genesis normally, while I've never been able to properly load any game for that system. Vizzed isn't to blame in any way (well, at most it can be blamed for MESS being absolutely crappy), so if people cannot play a certain system they will have to find a way out by themselves.

I understand you became inactive because of that. After all, I myself cannot be the full day around here without some pauses to play videogames, be it in the RGR, another emulator or my owned systems IRL. I'm glad that you were able to not let it escalate, you could have gotten a bad reputation for bashing the site or possibly a ban, but you simply left.

The RGR isn't a virus of any kind. And about the trashed threads you mention, there's only one answer: no matter what issue they talk about, if they don't follow the rules of spelling or anything, it gets trashed. In Vizzed, everything can be sorted out by talking normally, and while we understand people might be anxious to play, we don't have all the answers, but are always willing to help in any way we can, so anyone reporting a problem should know that by talking properly they're sure to get the mods attention.

After this, going to the main point of the thread, it's nice to see you back on here. You went inactive before I became active, so we haven't had a chance to interact, but I hope that can change in this second chance you've given Vizzed.

SuperCrash64 : well, obviously we dismissed those threads because the RGR plugin is not a virus. I've got it on my computer and never had any troubles with it or had it flag as a virus.

Those sorts of complaints are unfounded and obviously something we don't want spreading too far because then people will start to think that maybe it does have a virus in it which it doesn't. I've known David for too long to think he would ever do that or allow it to happen.

SuperCrash64 : The problem that I had was regarding the fact that you stated that many users have problems with the RGR that go unanswered. Basically suggesting that we ignore users outright, which basically never happens except maybe a couple times on accident.

More often we have to deal with people that state "The plugin isn't working. Please help" And give no information so we have to go through the process of asking for that information.

As far as the Plugin being a virus. We close those threads because they are unfounded. Many of the people that post this, basically know very little about computers. They don't understand that many sub-par/cheap Anti-virus programs potentially flag .msi installers as possible viruses/trojans because they make changes to windows and possibly could do harm, like many viruses. That doesn't mean that the RGR plugin is a virus. Because it's not. We wouldn't be in business any longer if David was distributing a Trojan via the RGR plugin. I've used it for over 5 years now. Never one problem, on multiple computers. We care greatly about this site and it's image. That's why us higher ups are here. Especially David. I mean he wouldn't put all of his life into this site if he didn't care greatly about it.

Also there was a couple times where bitter and spiteful former users like JigSaw and thing1 falsely reported the Plugin as a virus to AV software companies like Norton. This only lasted a short time though as we got the situation resolved pretty quickly.

With regards to your personal issue. It sounds like your computer was breaking down on you. Sounds like an older machine that probably needed windows to be re-installed, or possibly one of your ram sticks had become corrupt. Really though it's all speculation at this point since you never created a thread or asked anyone that would know about what might be causing your problem.

Congrats on 3 years, you hit it 2 months after me I'm hoping to get to know you better too, but I haven't been very active either. That should be different this winter break though!

I'm glad you were able to return to the site, we missed you and now that you're back it feels more like the old days

congrats on 3 years

also interesting

also i hope you have a beast computer now

some other comments:

"users only make threads like that to help yall out instead and try to make the site greater" - Not true. At ALL.

Also with you apologizing. You did nothing wrong, that actually
was me with the other accounts. You have no role whatsoever in my perma-ban.

I'm also about to hit 3 years on Vizzed in a few weeks.

I was wondering what happened to you as well until you explain that the RGR caused problems on your computer. I think what I can tell you, it might be because the plugin you used t may have took a lot of data space on your computer because you said that you run Windows XP and XP is quite outdated, heck, even my Vista (before it broke) can't handle anything today without causing problems. Basically to run N64, PS1, and DC games on here, you need a Windows 7, 8, or 10 and you need a good graphic card and a good memory (like 8+ RAM). That's just my guessing though.

Anyways, welcome back SuperCrash.

Sorry I am posting late here so many things have happened this week I haven't been able to post from Thurs which got me sad so it will take time before I can do that. Nevertheless. Thank you so much for the kind words crash. As I always said I will forever remain loyal to you as your friend and I have proved that. Congrats on 3 years. I really am happy that you are back on here. We have only 1 more person to go...I hope he shows up next year who knows. Remember I will always be there for you.

Congratulations on 3 years dude.

You've been here through a lot. It sucks that the RGR plugin caused problems on your computer. I've never heard of that happening before. Also...People don't trash and edit threads asking for help or for reporting problems. I'm not sure where you got that from.

Anyway, its great to see you around again dude.

EX Palen :

Yeah maybe it was my PC or what not , that machine is long gone now though.

Bashing a site?

Good grief, no, just no..

I'm one of those people whom will just take a leave if it bother me too much, or I'll rant about it but keep it to myself.

I don't loudly bash sites, or try to do anything that involves drama.

I'm one of those many people who don't tolerate drama.

When it comes down to dealing with drama and site bashing:
I'll respond and try to see what's going on with the situation, tell to them what's going on from my perspective; and  If people tend to argue with me over a few post, I'll let them have at the last word and move on with my day.

Because in the end, I don't like making a bad reputation or making anyone mad at me, I'm more or less want to be at netural.
Arguing over 24 hours just stresses me out, and Like I've said. Vizzed's community isn't even close to being toxic, like other sites I've seen.

Geeorgee:

Makes sense,  Like I said in my original post It wouldn't do the site any favors if garbage rumors started to spread..

That generally makes people leave a site, and  drops revenue big time.

So I'm no longer concerned about the whole situation.

Whats in the past, is in the past.

I'm letting bygone's be bygone's, I mainly came back to the site because I had great friends and this is a place to escape what I normally deal with.

Crazy house, and spam forums.. perfect for calming a bad mood temper.

PacmanandMariofan :

Yeah it's ironic..
I'm older than you in age, but your older than me as far as signing up and registering on this site lol!.

TheFadedWarrior :

It's good enough to run n64 games at full 60 fps now.

But that's about it, so in a sense it's decent and better than what I had before.

And thanks.

Eniitan :

Do you mean goodboy or Zack?

I've always wanted to come back, and I'm glad that I gotten an window of opportunity to do so.

IgorBird122 :

Thanks man, hope you can be active too.

And It could be possible at that,

It didn't help that the fools at @ MicroSoap decided to stop supporting XP around that time.

Luckily I'm on windows 10 and it works really well now.

A user of this :

Like I said, I couldn't tell if it was my computer or the rgr, it happened 3 years ago, and I wasn't a computer expert nor do I remember any specs about it.

And about that issue: It's been cleared up now.

Thanks for the response.

Hope I can be a little more active and reach the grand 5k post milestone.

Congrats Crash on 3 years! That's really awesome! ~

Thank you for the nice words. I want to know you better too. I hope we can talk more often from now on.

Sad to hear that you had RGR problems in the past. But I am glad that you decided to come back here on Vizzed.

Aww thanks man! I put a lot of effort into that story, and it'll have around 20 chapters when it's done. It's really pleasing to hear feedback like that from you and I'll try to keep you in touch!

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .
