*Train whistle blows as car pulls in* Ahh...the city < 3 how long I've missed this place! The air, the nearby ocean and fields, all the inhabitants of the island. Just makes living in this world so great! *!!* Oh...it's you all again, *walks down towards house* it's been a few days and I know the last time you saw me it wasn't that great of a trip, filled with a lot of sadness and empathy; but, now we're back at my home so things can be great and fresh once more. *breathes in room's scent* Haah < 3 nothing beats the refreshing smell of returning home from a long trip and I can't wait to see my friends "the villagers" once more how I so deeply missed them just like this room. It's been a long journey; however, after this tale we can finally have a break! *walks out of house and towards town hall* While we walk this block and talk or animal's talk, I forgot to mention one thing to you all.... *opens door as assistant blows party popper in face* ..ngh...h-h-hello Kimmy, I know I've been away for a while; however, I still don't think that's a great way to treat your newly appointed mayor. Y-Yes that's right...she pulled it out of me, after the past 3 times that I was in towns like this...a unanimous decision was made that I'd become the new mayor after our tortally turtle decided to get his shell-chair out of the office and onto retirement paradise. E-Either way I'm sure you have plenty of questions regarding what has happened even though we didn't miss each other by that long ago, time to open our books and mind about the changes in this animal crossing world I'm NOW a sort of manager/head honcho of the area? Still a little confusing; *hops off seat* but, eh...what can I really do time to go adventure around in this town! *looks at Kimmy* Make sure you hold off on any calls today, the people put in their petition for this review of our town so as mayor I have to follow through *looks up at sky towards 3DS screen and speaks in head * "I promise I wouldn't let any of you down this time by messing up with time restraints". *walks out and shuts town hall door* .... Bye! Mayor Sonic!! ... *screen fades to black* /|+-_ Bringing a new look, upon a classic game _-+| Living a life in this world you'll see a lot of interesting sights, between the funny looking characters and the chibi-ish background designs; Although, what can really make this place blossom is you, since you're the mayor and you're able to hold special events whenever or whichever way you please. Just like a certain game with "mine" in the title, a lot of the creativity that spawns from this game in the following factors: "enjoyment, scenery, or addictive gameplay". If you don't understand what I mean then I'll try to explain briefly right now then give you 3 overviews on exactly what the graphics in this game can be influenced by/or just how the graphics can appear based on the game and the player's need to create. {}--- Environmental Changes ---}{ Just like most life simulation games you'll notice a change of the world around you as you play, with some games actually reflecting our world's seasons and trying to implement them based on the game's calendar. A perfect example to get this "snow" ball rolling would be the fact that during winter you will find a lot of snow covering the ground of (* If that wonderful delight wasn't enough to soak your heart with the occasion of celebration then prepare for a perfect Japanese tradition that suits the mood for the recently returned season of spring, by bring in the Cherry Blossoms into your world which may not seem all that eventful at first; but, you just wait until that nightime moon hits. *sits down on tree stump admiring the moon* It may not seem all that great at first....yet...when you're in the moment like myself *cherry blossoms fall from the sky* it really makes you enjoy the beauty of this world that you created! ...Either that or you're just disappointed that some Japanese samurai didn't show up alongside the cherry blossom tree's.....j-just a little too much anime eh? /___==___ Designs ___/ ==___ Probably the biggest and largest part of what makes this game addictive (to some, just like in minecraft), the designing segments which I know may not seem so amazing from just wearing the design or having it placed in your house; however, with the right person creating the designs for character you can create a lot and I mean A LOT of amazing art....you could probably even make a Final Fantasy VII style flooring for the whole town if you really wish, and as seen in my profile picture it does look nicely once finished and added to the town; although, like stated above you do have do be good at memorizing patters and have a ton of dedication put into it. I've also stated that you can put your designs up as wallpaper in your house? Yes, that's completely true and what makes it great is that if there's always a particular flooring or wallpaper you've dreamed of having inside this series then you can create and plate it inside your house which thankfully doesn't add a wallpaper item to your inventory when putting it up or taking it down. This is kind of hard to see from my perspective; though, if you were to look up "animal crossing designs" you'd see what I mean by making things look perfect for your house. _-/Characters/Town members-_ Bringing us to the main attraction of these worlds, the villagers that are moved into your town as you join. If you're one for cute and cuddly things inside your games *see's big red M in the sky, followed by iplier* then the character will probably make you butter your biscuits in happiness since as you can tell from the title, the villagers will all be animal's of many different varieties and personalities. For example one member you might have next door could be a colorful sheep of happiness whom is always acting like a complete clown, and the following door beside them could be a female duck whom loves the world around her and the friends that she's gained here. Each with the fact of how they smile upon seeing you at times and will be shocked by certain responses, it's fun to see the nature behind each character and complements the games design and looks in every aspect. My favorite expression though definitely has to be when they're shy/beating around the bush and are rubbing there foot on the ground while swaying from left to right, it's just a cutesy action and I'm probably just a dummy for thinking that it's a big deal but it does add a lot to the games character and feel upon looking at the characters and the world around them. Leaving me to the end of this section on the town's to-do list, as you can see our living quarters can be quite creative if one wishes to make it so! Leaving me to give the graphics an 8 out of 10 for what YOU can make the game look like in aspects; however, let's not continue to dawdle and move upon the next segment of this tour! *fist pumps the air and moves forward* v~^ Sounds that keep you at peace, each moment of your day ^~v My gosh...if any series actually made me feel so great inside for just basic music and I mean THE MOST BASIC of music you could think of, then the award has to go to this series, as if you're like this hedgemayor then you'll know that I prefer to be alone (due to being alone when I was younger). Now you may be thinking well then how does 1 song or 2 within every few hours of doing something in a game change that? That's because "every" hour there is a new song that plays so no matter what time of the day you play the game on something new will always come leaving you to not feel so alone at times, as if the game gets you back into the happy mood you had an hour prior with new music to strengthen your smile and enjoyment again for the tasks you want to do. This creates a perfect tone for any player, young and old when you hear that bell toll at the end of each hour and blissfully wait for the next theme to play! Following the tradition I'll show you some examples of music I think really fits my reasons as to why I'm giving such a high score for sound; however, before that happens we need to talk about one form of alternate music you get during your adventures as mayor...which would be... .:=*^K.K Music``'-_ *walks into DJ house* ahh bringing us to the most well known character of this series (and for good reasons as well) has returned to give us another encore of musical tunes to listen to each Saturday night...or at least that's what we knew in the previous games yes something has changed about this game with music; although, that's a point for a later part of this tour so let's continue on with the music portion for right now. Moving onto the main point is the fact that this character will give you music each night as long as you give him the correct name to a song or you just have him play one by not requesting anything and letting him pick, this music is special unlike the music you'll hear around town since you're able to collect that beat and take it home with you to play on whatever music system your house is carrying. Giving it an 8-bit tone and calming atmosphere to your house making it really nice and can also be shown as furniture as well this time around (a CD box with case cover). This adds a whole new layer to the sound rating for this game by letting you have 2 different variations of music that you can listen to during your days/nights in this town. Now that this tiny tid-bit is out of the way we can get to some personal favorite songs which would have to be... < 3 ooO --__ Bubblegum K.K __-- Ooo < 3 This was the first song I heard in "New Leaf" and my gosh did it get me hooked onto the games newest soundtrack they had decided to implement into the latest addition of the series, not only does this feel like the perfect theme to me when you feel happy or accomplished about something; yet, it also feels so great listening to it after having played this game for so long and creating this wonderful building with the petitions and then this song plays and it just feels so rememberant of how you've progressed as mayor of this town. Such a good theme and hey *pats villager viewer's back* if you ever feel bad or down about something just play this theme and think about something you love and I promise you'll feel a lot better! _-~``` Forest Life '''~~_- For most villagers this song may not sound that memorable or even interesting to them; although what makes this so different for myself, is the fact that I've seen this games "tree of life (sequels)" grow from the very beginning. What does that have to do with this song right? Well this song is actually a remixed version of the Gamecube Animal Crossing's title screen theme. ....Do I even need to say more on how COOL that is? If you've been fans of this series for so long then you hear this play it's like the game is looking upon yourself as an adult yet playing a song from your childhood and saying: "hey...it's ok that you're older, but why not relax with childhood memories once more?". Maybe it's just cause this old hedgehog thought the system was underrated when compared to other systems, I don't know. What I do know is that if you're a fan of the original it's definitely a good idea to get this song the next time you see that jazzy DJ of a dog K.K.... *sniff* ....great song... *holds original game in hand and shows heartbroken emotion* Sadly, this comes to the end of our section on sound/music so moving on I'll move towards the next part of our trip. There aren't really any terms of sound effects/voices for characters since they all talk in an unknown language to us however you can fairly make out a few words such as: "but, ok, done?" while they speak out a long sentence to you. But, in terms of just sound I'd have to say with how well and elongated the music __ ___ |/| Relaxing fun with the freedom of life, though not as perfect as other methods |/___| Sure you may think that since this is a life simulation game that it will be completely boring and shall have no redeeming qualities other than talking with others, sadly that is where you are wrong and if you would like to continue disputing that fact then *opens up taxi door* you may feel free to leave the town now. As a mayor of this town I will humbly agree it isn't the best job in the world nor is it always the ideal story I'd like to pick up everyday; however, there are time when I may feel down or empty and I just need something to play to make the situation better...a game without rules/restrictions being placed upon the interactor when they're just trying to let everything out and feel free. If that's what you're looking for, let me sit you down and say: "welcome to our town" since that's what our world of Animal Crossing is all about is relaxing and being whatever you want to be without worrying about goals/deadlines/or any worries while keeping the same sense of actual life. I'll describe the best I can to you while you try to relax and ease yourself of worries, being trapped in darkness while attacking monsters in space isn't easy nor is getting blown up by a moss monster in a blocky world...so stay here to calm down and if this section isn't captivating enough for you then you don't have to stay I'll just tell you what can be highly interesting and what could tag you into wanting to enjoy your time here more! So let's move onto the examples *shows smile emotion* <^> Managing the town >v< As you know from above when you get throwing into your new world, it's your to care for and treat nicely as the head honcho of the whole land and as such there are several different things you can do to make the town exactly as you might wish it to be. A few different examples could be for example your town's nature deposit, say if you were to look around and you felt that there were too many places that seemed barren or open with nothing exciting around... (for the time being if no one moves) well at that point you can try to spruce things up by planting and caring for a tree to have it grow and nurture the surrounding area or maybe plant a new fruit in order to bring variety into your towns The final things that can be mentioned for this section would be upgrades for the town and for yourself as well, everyone already knows about the house upgrades from before which though are still great to have in this game there are even bigger things that can happen and make the game just so enjoyable to play once it's finished. A perfect example would be to say if someone were to move away; yet, always talked about a wanting a fountain close to them, you could always place a fountain where they used to be or close to where thy were in order to be a reminder of how much you cared for them *shoots off party popper* it would be great! Speaking of the villagers let's talk about that segment now! (=._ Building Friendships towards Animals _.=) This is the main reason why I love this series no matter how simplistic it can be or how childish it is due to having animal characters instead of just human characters *turns head towards Sims'* because even though it is childish and the people are just animals instead of being exactly like us humans I feel it makes younger and older people connect better due to how funny or cute that character may look in design and how they act personality wise. You may have a hippo whom talks with a deep voice, is a huge grump, and still you love talking to them because of the things they say and just how "childish" they may seem when compared to yourself and what you'd say to someone. The best part comes into play when you have the ability to write letters to your favorite villagers and you get to see their response < 3 each time it will come with a different paper format and will have kind words to say to you (as long as you didn't just try to binary code them to death) which can really really make you feel a lot better personally even though you're just playing a game. When you're finished with your letter you can even send them a gift which is nice and they'll always say how the appreciate the gift without any fail < 3 and sometimes they may even send a gift straight back to you so they don't feel bad about getting a gift while you just get a letter back. It really helps you bond that connections to certain animal villagers, and sometimes you can even get a portrait of them to keep ^-^! Like a said this is a perfect game if you're not one to go out and talk to others or just are kind of a loner without many friends by your side, if this doesn't help you feel better well I just have no clue what will. There is much more to enjoy inside this series and our many many different towns; although, if I were to tell you everything about the experience then what would be the point of planning to drop by since there'd be nothing to experience that'd be brand new. Like I did say beforehand though, it is a game that you play when you really need it most to relax and definitely isn't something as bright and fun towards other games like Zelda or Ace Attorney. Even if you don't play it for weeks or months it's always there when you need it and at that point in time it's still really fun to play when you want to even making you play a lot more again after those lost weeks (since like the original box said, events happen whether you're there or not just like real life). So even if it's not as addictive of a game I'd think it deserves an 8 out of 10 for the fact of just how much it can help one out when they really need it (can really bring up emotions too if a villager moves away when you're gone). Story: N/A Unfortunately this game has absolutely no "main" story; though is a good story really expected in a life-simulation game? Now I will mention that if you talk to certain characters they may talk about things with their life and specific characters will always talk about their life (a certain seagull and porcupine). One will mention about their life sailing around with friends and trying to remember how he ended up in our little town, while the porcupine will talk about her family life at times and why she acted with a lot of disdain towards us at the very beginning. Unless you decide to make your own story like: "and one day the three spiky sisters decided to move to this city and build a shop in order to gain revenue from their hard past and along the way a local raccoon went crazy intelligent by gaining products and forcing us to pay for them by giving us no house at the beginning without a ridiculous fee out the acorn behind (I haven't seen prices that insane since windfall islands bomb shop) alongside the fact that there are no other human in our world when we enter making this the forest of scares and mystery. This bring us to our game animal crossing have fun!" As much as that would be funny out of my spines, there is no such thing and as such I have to end the segment off here since I can't blabber about nothing nor would I want to. So the story gets a BLANK out of BLANK Nook bells. ..!!$$| Though basic in idea, one village has a lot to offer |$$!!.. I'm sure you probably already know by having been on the trip this far that the game is far from ordinary in terms of both normal games you'd see on this handheld and on simulator games as well. You know what the best part is though, we haven't even really reached the tip of the forest either < 3 there is still much more to be seen inside this game that we haven't even talked about though we still won't include everything . I'm sure you all are curious as to what additions we've come to terms with since our early beginnings and one of them being that we know not everyone is able to make it to our town during the Saturday evenings, missing the quality music done by this world's favorite dog musician and as such we've renovated a place that you can establish so you can chill out and listen to music all afternoon and night. Doesn't matter if you're alone or with friends you'll be dancing to the new beats each evening and every night while on special occasions you can visit our dog in his original nature and guitar tuner and listen with a sweet peace of mind, and just for you retro and cool fans we're bringing in the DJ master K.K to make this crib ALLLL real . There are other features you've been given in this installment and one that's long since overdue so let's talk about that below! ++-__ Added Features __-++ With the newest adventure in this wonderful world we've been given a bigger spending plan so with my standings I was able to help get new features added to this land for further enjoyment as I know in past adventures there were restrictions that cause discomfort or unhappiness. Probably the biggest reason that everyone knows is the fact that before you had absolutely no way to swim even though you could see the ocean right in front of you...just beckoning you to splash around inside it, even when you used to travel to a little island away from the town you'd get to see the water; yet, never once got to touch or feel the water in your hands. Now after going to the island and buying a suit you can actually swim after having it equipped, Yes yes YES!! It's what even myself when I was just a little villager too so desperately wanted to have available! You can even catch some new fish/insects from diving into the water just adding to that happiness factor of this ability!! What about your house though, it seems like the decorating has improved too; though, we still never really had a chance to see the full ability of our decorating creativity due to camera restrictions only showing certain angles...such a shame....until this adventure! As in this new "winter" leaf we get a chance to take our house decorating and fully express it in action now since the room can be rotated in a complete 360 degree turn showing every angle that we wish to check/improve upon with any ounce of compassion in our hearts, making this a perfect addition to those whom love to build or organize something into a beautiful/admirable state! There's only one thing left that I feel privileged to tell you about and that would be... //___ Multiplayer ___// Every game needs that multiplayer action every once in a while to stir up that addictiveness factor and fun among friends and family alike, so how does our 3rd sequel live up to that idea after having the same thing implemented once before on our old handheld? Well we've definitely kept the same fun action as before and amplified it in many ways! Just like before you can invite a friend to visit your town and explore what they have built upon, opening up new things to you that you may not have even known about until seeing their place of residence; but, the very best thing is the mini-games that you'll get to play through on the island that our good ol' Kapp'n let's us travel to and from! During your time with your friend you can play between several different events, a few that I can explain would be: "Balloon Hunt" ...well it's actually popping but I LIKE THAT NAME BETTER AND I'M MAYOR SO THERE! a-anyway it's a game in which you're able to shoot balloons with a slingshot and however many you're able to pop in the given amount of time estimates to how many medals you'll receive in the end, there's also a bug-catching tour wherein you catch various bugs in order to make a huge amount of points and once time runs out the points are calculated into a certain rank for medals. Which brings us to the end of the multiplayer section that I'll share with you all, other than talking with your friend and checking out his pad there isn't much else to do so time to end this chapter off. We're heading to the peak of the tour so prepare your things as soon as possible as for depth I'm giving this game a 9 out of 10, *uses smile and proud emotion* let's move onto our final segment! *jumps into water and swim away* ^v^v Non-existent difficulty in our peaceful little world v^v^ *Swims onto shore* To be perfectly honest, I don't think there really should be a difficulty rating for this game completionist or non since the only thing I'd find difficult is finding time to play the game and keeping it in your time frame without switching time and possibly destroying your flower collection or having animals move away. Other than that it's just a game where you live life however you wish so I don't see any issues with that as the controls are completely responsive and there aren't any issues with the game in terms of playability, especially with how many features this game had included. ....well.....the only thing that can really be said about difficulty or more so monotony is.... *turns review on and off* Yes we all know about this trick where if you reset a certain guy will come out just watch" ....Well to be honest there isn't really anything that causes you to have a difficult time with....... *see's nothing* ....? huh? w-w-why isn't he appearing :o ...the devil mole isn't appearing...uh I mean why isn't Resetti appearing?! Well yeah after the 1st time you reset he's not allowed to come back until you build the Resetti Center for the city. So there isn't a Resetting annoying mole, the controls are great, there isn't a time limit on your loan, and so many other things? I'm pretty sure that means this game reaches the lowest of low in terms of difficulty and in my eyes it's the easiest to gain money from so that's all I can really say in terms of difficulty, leaving me to give the difficulty of 1 out of 10 since the only hard part is finding time to manage your garden or villagers. *Reaches Town Hall once more* That brings us to the end of our tour together, I hope things were nice and that you see how much we've progressed. Our Animal Crossing world has grown tremendously and if you plan on joining this town I'll gladly treat you to a nice welcome and be the best mayor I can possibly be for you all! *Assistant comes out* ...? Is there something wrong Kimmy? ....! Oh I have to hurry and end the review for the website? All right I'll head home and end this thanks Assistant NFK *exits town hall and sighs* Sadly everyone....I'm running out of time so I'm going to have to cut this review short; however, I'll hope to see you all next time in the following months! *puts hand on house door and notices green and user* Sorry friends I have to leave now; but, I hope you villagers enjoy what we've done in this town and I'll do my best for you always! *waves bye and uses laughs emotion* ..... *talks and thinks to self* It's time we end this Animal Crossing....never understood the "crossing" though I hope you enjoyed your time in Vizzlage, hope it was enjoyful and see you next time *smiles and blushes emotion used* .... *opens door as screen fades to black while z's pop out of house* Sonic57+Pokefreak219tm Y-Yes that's right...she pulled it out of me, after the past 3 times that I was in towns like this...a unanimous decision was made that I'd become the new mayor after our tortally turtle decided to get his shell-chair out of the office and onto retirement paradise. *opens door as screen fades to black while z's pop out of house* Sonic57+Pokefreak219tm |

Excellent work on this man. It feels like an eternity since I have replied to a review....but this was totally worth checking out. Unsurprisingly, you went into a great amount of detail and did a great job of explaining your points and defending your claims, which are both crucial elements to a good review. What I really like is that you broke everything down into sub categories and went from there with discussing them in greater depth. Altogether, this was a job well done. Is this one of your larger reviews? Because 5000+ words is pretty massive! As always, keep up the outstanding work! I'll definitely have to check out your last review I didn't get a chance to read! Razor-987 : haha xD as much as it pains me to say it the review before this one was the largest XD < 3. It's alright man you don't have to reply as long as you enjoy the review! And yeah I feel it's best to do that so you can tell others "exactly" what they NEED to know so that way they can very easily make a choice without A. ruining the fun, or B. buying a product and then not liking it afterwards. It's also nice to add a bit of humor here and there so it doesn't just get to be stale facts all the way through. glad you enjoyed the review and finally XD it will be back to a 2 review per month setting, I don't know how I write that much and I honestly don't think I can write under 3000 words anymore unless it's a really basic game. glad you enjoyed the review and finally XD it will be back to a 2 review per month setting, I don't know how I write that much and I honestly don't think I can write under 3000 words anymore unless it's a really basic game. |
