You know, I actually agree with you. Mega Man 2 is decent, but it has too many flaws for it too be the best in the series. I have no clue why it's held in such high regard.

I am not a fan of the Mega Man games at all. I think they all have a lot of flaws (it don't make them bad games, they are just games I do not enjoy). I really like your post. All you hear is good stuff about this game. Its good to see another opinion of it, I agree with most of the stuff you had to say as well.

I respect your opinion, and you can freely state it. I respect Mega Man 2 as a classic in the series, and it did standardize the Mega Man formula. I just find it overrated for what it really contains. It's not necessarily a bad game by any means, I just don't see it as one of the best

I never actually asked for your opinion, and even if I did, It would be an opinion relevant to the thread's topic. If you want to state your dislike of Mega Man, please do it in a thread about liking/disliking Mega Man.

I understand all of the things wrong with Mega Man 2, and I completely agree with this. It does not make the game a bad game in terms of entertainment, because it is still fun to play.

Can't help but agree I guess. Mega Man 2 is broken on many standards with the Robot Master abilities and with Metal Blade being God mode. I love Mega Man 2, I do. The levels, the music, the Robot Masters. But to me, I don't think its the best one to ever exist. To me, no one of the Mega Man games are the best, that's not statistically possible, at least to me. The levels, music, abilities, Wily Stages. There's things to love and hate in all of them and yet if you can stand back and look at the big picture, they're all amazing in their own way and have their rightful place in the timeline of it all. 

To me...if anything I think its a bug or something done with the coding to the game that just ended up making things easy or overpowered. Mistakes like that were really easy to make way back when since video games were just getting its big time wings. But Mega Man 2 is still a good fun game to play, no doubt about it.

Please don't get offended, but what most people of our new gaming generation don't understand is your basically complaining about a game made long before you were even born or conceived. People often compare old video games such as this one made and released on a old system like the NES to today's standards in graphic quality and creativity. Think about what the programmers and graphic designers had to work with back then, especially since the gaming community was just getting started and the technology wasn't as efficient or high in standard or quality. Your complaining and ranting about a 16-bit (if that) game and the sprites that appear in it, along with level design/ make up. Honestly back then you would have though the game was realistic and had amazing graphics. Honestly I don't mean to be rude but quit complaining about an old game on a way out dated system, it was the best they could do back then and I'm not even sure why you and others choose to rant about a game that was made long before you were born and then basically compare it to today's standards knowing full well before you even played it, the quality of games that the old NES system put out in its "prime", I mean in all honesty this is what one expects from an old NES system game.

SMBLOZ123 : Keep in mind the time period,  In 1989 there were no other systems or really any other games to compare it to, nor where there any games out like it. I wasn't putting your age against you, I called it like how I saw it and how your "rant" made you appear. You were complaining about a 8-bit game, do you know how hard it was for programmers of that era, never mind fixing bugs, finding them inside the coding was nearly impossible back then. 95% of your first post is pure opinion and once more I find it shocking that your complaining and ranting about a 8-bit game on a old system, this was literally the best they could do with the technology and resources they had back then which is why people have the opinion that its "the bestgame in the series". Gamers and fans of the franchise know its obviously flawed but they realize what programmers had to work with back then and also what was the standards back then and back then Mega Man 2 went above and beyond those standards which is why its regarded highly.

SMBLOZ123 : Disregard every Megaman game after Mega Man 2, think about this for a second. If your saying Mega Man is Better than Mega Man 2 I'd like you to explain, give some reasoning. Mega Man 2 has more radiant in color with the characters design and the stages are are in full color with a background to them, the graphics are significantly better than what was seen in Mega Man. The boss's are far more creative and are in full animation for example:Mega Man 2-

Now compare and contrast like your a child in 1989. Megaman himself(the sprite) is alot better in pixel quality, the stages are better in pixel quality as well as the robot master themselfs. The stages have vibrant colors that poke out at you and look significantly better where stages in Mega Man look flat and plain and generally unrealistic. See my point, I fail to see how Mega Man 2 didn't go beyond the standards set by Mega Man, it looks like a clear huge improvement to me.

Neo Arcadia : I agree with you right there. I am a 12 year old girl who LIKES the 8-bit music, and actually Mega man 1 and 2 are my favorite NES Mega man games. Even though I like modern music, I love classic music more then I like Justin Beber and Lady Gaga. (Jb and LGG are BAD SINGERS.)
