In many RPGs, there are many ways to approach and fight an enemy or a boss. How would you handle a tough opponent? By sheer strength?A defensive method? Maybe use a character with high evasion to avoid almost any damage? Or maybe use some sort of status ailment to slowly defeat your foe?

I prefer using sheer strength, but if a foe's hard to beat, I use some characters who could inflict status ailments to make it easier for my strongest character to beat it. I raise the evasion of my long-range characters like the bow and arrow users and magician because they usually have weaker defense and high evasion is a good way to make up for it. For my front characters like swordsmen and spear masters, I raise their defense together with their strength, instead of evasion to make them more badass.

I actually don't like using mages, unless they heal or buff D: to me, the magic they use isn't worth the trouble until a while in the game.
But I'd rather use a defensive-method with ailments to drag on a fight, but ensure victory if ailments are applicable to the enemy. If not, then sheer force it is
