A Bit Similar To Another Pirated.... ugh...Well, hey guys, so I decided that I wanted to go ahead and review another horrible pirated game. So, I found another horrible pirated Sonic game that I played a while ago. Interestingly, it is very similar to another pirated game that I have played before, but I though, why not review it? Anyways, lets get started!
Intro:So, this is basically a Sonic game for the nintendo NES. It is indeed a pirated original. I'm not sure but I'm guessing whoever made this really wants to attempt to blow other's mind by attempting to make Sonic games for a nintendo system. There were even pirated mario games for Sega systems. A funny thing is that they are all.... Pretty terrible to be honest. Another funny thing is that it is similar to Sonic 3D blast 5, but with a new title screen. Anyways, let's go ahead and dive in deeper to the review!
Gameplay: 5*throws up* Sorry about that. Anyways, It's dreadful as you can guess. Want to know why? It is simply because of the physics. The physics are really messed up and off. Sonic runs at a 100% slow and constant speed as if he is mario, but when he jumps, the gravity is crazy. He sometimes jumps up and down extremely fast, sometimes even fall down a bit slow but barely moving. Sometimes, Sonic just moves uncontrollably fast at a ground that is barely even steep and he sometimes doesn't move at all, it even happens in mid-air. Just makes the gameplay unenjoyable and possibly even unplayable due to the horrible physics. As for everything else, Sonic doesn't really have any special moves other than jumping, just like the original Sonic 1 for the sega genesis. Thats about it for the gameplay.
Graphics: 4UGHH... It's also pretty bad to be honest. Just look at the title screen, for example. The colors are really off and not how it's supposed to be. The sprites and stuff also flickers at times while the colors are barely fuzzy solid colors that are somewhat mixed colors and just a mess. It's just something that you wouldn't really want to have a look at. You would want to see something that is more vivid, colorful in a good way, beautiful, not flickery or fuzzy, but just look at this game though. I really hate to rant but it's the truth. Also, what even makes less sense is that knuckles is actually in the title screen. I have no idea why he is even there. lol. You can't play as knuckles and he doesn't even show up anywhere else in the game. That is about it for the graphics section in my review.
Sound: 5Well, one thing I must say is that it hurts my ears. Mostly the sound effects is what hurts my ears. The sound effects are pretty much high pitched and they sound like nothing but high pitched noises that continuously play everytime you do any type of action with Sonic in the game. As for the background music, it's more of a bad remix of the original Sonic 1 background musics. The background music doesn't really hurt your ears like the sound effects but it still doesn't sound very good. It barely uses any types sounds but a few different beeps and other sounds just to be enough just to be considered a background music. It's not really something that you would want to listen to while playing a game. Thats about it for the sound portion of my review.
Addictiveness: 3Well, would you rather play some awesome Sonic game or hack for a sega genesis or this pirated game? Come on, you already know the answer, of course not. I don't think my ears would want to ear these high pitched sounds and I don't want to force myself to deal with the horrible physics once more. Though, I still give it some credit to be a Sonic game for a nintendo system though. I really don't know what else should I say though. It is simply the same, old, and horrible game. Nothing really new or fun. Sorry for the ranting.
Story: 6Well, as you can probably guess, it is the same old story we all know for all Sonic games. Sonic has to just simply defeat Dr. Eggman, again and foil his evil plans. Nothing interesting, new, it's overused, very simple, and just doesn't let you think about anything else. but still, the story is a pretty insignificant thing about sonic games after all since it just dives in to the gameplay. Thats about it for the story portion in my review. Nothing else to talk about.
Depth: 6Okay, I'll give this pirated game some credit. It offers the sonic 1 zones (but in an incorrect order like how it starts with springyard zone) and it lets you play as sonic in a nintendo system. It typically offers the same amount of stuff like the original Sonic 1 for the sega genesis, but all in a much horrible quality. There isn't really any other extra options or features in this pirated game. Nothing else left to talk about.
Difficulty: 9Yes. Indeed this is a hard game. Let me explain why, so firstly, we got the crazy physics. Secondly, there are loads of badniks everywhere. Thirdly, they shoot out lots of projectiles all over the air at such high speeds! So, you will encounter trouble dodging those projectiles thanks to the horrible physics and you may end up in an area where you can barely even move or jump to dodge these projectiles. Also, some areas just have no rings while it has lots of projectiles and badniks. That is basically why the game is just way too hard. And it's definitely not a hard challenge in such a good way, it's a hard challenge in a dreadful way since you can't even enjoy the game. Thats basically it.
OVERALL: 5
Thats about it for the review. I was afraid that this review may be around half the size as my other reviews since this was a horrible and pirated game and there isn't much to talk about. Thanks for reading! :)
