Ms. Pac-Man (Tengen) ReviewThis is my review of my favorite NES game, Ms. Pac-Man Tengen. There are actually two NES versions of Ms. Pac-Man. Don't believe me? Type in "Ms. Pac-Man" in the game search area and check the box that says NES. You will see that there are indeed two different versions of Ms. Pac-Man for the NES. One of them is pretty much normal except the mazes have less pellets than most other versions and the mazes are different colors than usual. The other one is the one I'm talking about in this review, the Ms. Pac-Man game made by Tengen. This game features a mode select screen with a player select, speed boost option, difficulty select, and a starting level select. If you're a huge Pac-Man fan, this game should keep you busy for a long time.

The graphics are very impressive for an NES game. I'm amazed by how the graphics turned out. They look very similar to the original arcade version of this game that didn't have extra mazes and other things. Just play this game to see what I mean (if you haven't already played it before). That's really all I have to say, so... moving on!
Sound: 9
I absolutely love the sound in this game. Lots of people that have played the original arcade version of Ms. Pac-Man would think the sound is really weird compared to the original. The other NES version of Ms. Pac-Man I mentioned earlier sounds a lot weirder than this one in my opinion. But all game consoles and games themselves aren't supposed to sound alike! It's impossible to make all games and game consoles sound alike! Plus, that would make people pretty upset hearing the same old sound style for every console! Now back on topic: the sound in this game is kind of strange you might think, but I'm sure it was pretty difficult for Tengen to make more normal sound effects for this version of Ms. Pac-Man! You can't make a game on one console to sound exactly the same as that same game on another console! Anyway, I think the sound is kind of weird too, especially the sounds you ear after eating a ghost-eater pellet. But weird is cool when it comes to video game sounds!
Addictiveness: 8
Like I mentioned at the beginning of this review, this game has a lot to offer. It'll take quite a lot of time and skill to beat this game 100%. And yes it is possible. The game doesn't have that many mazes in each maze option. I've heard the original Ms. Pac-Man had way too many levels. This game will be the most addicting if you're a huge Pac-Man fan or you really like getting high scores all the time.
Story: BLANK
There's no story to this game. There is a cool ending (WHICH I'M NOT SPOILING FOR YOU), but there's no story. I don't even know what else to say.
Depth: 8
There's a lot of things to do in this game. Like I said at the beginning, there's a player select, speed boost option, difficulty select, maze select, and starting level select. You'll probably be really addicted to this game even if you're tired of the original Ms. Pac-Man because of the new mazes in this version. This game will take a while to beat, especially if you're not a very experienced or skilled Pac-Man player.
Difficulty: 7
It's going to be very difficult to beat all of the different maze series 100%, since there are more than 20 levels in each maze series. The same old mazes tend to repeat a lot after a while which makes the game not so hard since you can get used to the same newer mazes over and over. The game also isn't that hard because if you get a game over from losing all of your lives, you get to leave off at the maze you lost your last life at and you get to do that 4 times then you have to start over. The speed boost and playing with a friend in 2-player co-op our your best ways of making the game easy to beat.
Overall: 9
This is a great version of Ms. Pac-Man. There are other versions that have the maze select and all the extra options this does such as the SNES version and the Sega Genesis version, but this is the first version with all the extra things that I've played. If you're a Pac-Man fan and you want more of a challenge than the same old mazes over and over again, this game is perfect for you. I hope you enjoyed this review!
