awesome kart racer!!! bsnowotter
In anticipation of what is reported to be an amazing sequel, Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, I am in the mood to write a review of Mario Kart 64 , an amazing game made by the people who probably have made the most amazing games of all time, and by that I mean the spookily brilliant minds at Nintendo .
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mario Kart 64 is by far the best kart racer playable on vizzed, which makes it a leading contender for one of the best racing games overall on here. I know that the PlayStation has some kart racers, but chances are they are pale imitations. PlayStation games often have digital directional control which would make a racing game less precise , and even if a play station racer had precise controls the nintendo 64 is by far the more powerful system, so it's a safe bet that this is the best 1, with the possible exception of diddy kong racing. But I will discuss the relative merits of Diddy Kong later in the review, for now I want to get to an introduction section where I describe for the neophytes what the heck Mario Kart 64 is, and then I will share my wise opinions about the merits of Mario Kart broken into categories the way they love it done in vizzed. You're welcome for organizing my review in such a wonderful way for you, if you wanna know just how good the sound and music are you can totally skip down to that section of the review and skip everything else couldn't you?
Back in the Super Nintendo days, Nintendo wanted to take advantage of mode 7 graphics which is a pretty spiffy technical accomplishment on the 16 bit platform. Basically in mode 7 traffic games the playfield looks kinda like a pixelated floor that is all flat. By having this floor zoom at the camera and rotate at high speeds they were able to make a pretty good racing game, and choosing to make it a cart racer in which Mario and the gang can throw shells at each other and engage in other antics they basically invented the cart racer genre and made one of the most fun racing games ever. It didn't hurt that they included a multiplayer split screen mode and the ridiculously fun battle mode.
Moving forward a few years, when Nintendo came out with the Nintendo 64 an awesome system with the capability of producing amazing 3 dimensional graphics and things the wisely decided to use the system's power to make an amazing sequel to Mario Kart. The result is the most crazy fun 4 player experience people had ever seen in a racing game.
Graphics
The graphics in Mario Kart are really good. The courses are rendered in 3d and you can see of into the distance really well. Interestingly all the racers are represented in the two-dimensional sprites. Lucky for the gamers the races all look good perhaps even better than they would have liked it in 3d polygons. By today's standards the presentation maybe a bit dated but not in a way that would detract from the experience in a huge way. The colors are all bright and the tracks are varied and have very creative visual presentations to them ranging from mountains to farm 2 dirt tracks pavement all sorts of textures and things. Getting back to that Diddy Kong Racing comparison, Diddy Kong pulled off 3-dimensional racers quite well and often had crazy dinosaurs and other cool things on the tracks so graphically Diddy Kong may have surpassed Mario Kart.
Sound
Music in Mario Kart is really good. ?A lot of the tunes are really memorable , one of my favorites is the music they play at Toad's Turnpike, im they use lots of synthesized sounds to create the music and it just sounds amazing and I really like it the sound effects of really good things appropriately sound when they explode or when you spin out the only complaint I really have with the sound is when you get into four Player mode sometimes I feel like all the different competing engine noises and stuff make music and possible as if they prioritize the sound effects of having good music because there's just so much sound happening all at once its like the Nintendo 64 couldn't handle it all but in one player mode the sound is great. Also if you have 4 people in the room playing the game this sound not handling all that isn't a huge problem because you're probably have people yelling at each other and they won't I'll be listening closely with music anyway we'll day?
Addictiveness
Mario Kart is highly addictive particularly if you have multiple people to play very enjoyable to use the item is like the red shells to take out your friends and you drag them into oblivion the one player mode is also pretty addictive because its challenges of the different difficulty settings brings you back to the same tracks over and over to to unlock the additional things by beating the courses and then beating them on the higher engine settings which is also kind of this difficulties so you might start on the easy mode be all the tracks and then with your new skills might go to the higher difficulty level and take them all on again. By the time you're done doing all this you'll look at the clock and be like oh my gosh I've been planning this for weeks and you'll be like well it'll be amazing you will be addicted to your friends in the game go battle mode with him and just be playing for every like years and years and years and then my a car date will be coming out your disease later and you'll still be obsessed with this game basically you'll be writing reviews decades from now about how good this game ice.
Story
Okay the story of my a mario kart kind of sucks. ?On the positive side you probably didn't play Mario Kart because you were hoping for a great story, but Nintendo could have thrown one in any way and the fact that they didn't kind of bothers me , maybe Mario and Peach could be having like relationship troubles and then maybe there could be like a love triangle with Luigi and then maybe told could like give bad advice and they could be like comedic romantic comedy crap happening all the time but no Nintendo didn't want to have it me a love triangle of a romantic comedy and so now I have to say you miss an opportunity there.
Depth
This game is pretty deep I mean there's all the different tracks four different cup there's the different difficulty settings and then the mirror difficulty setting where everything is backwards all together it has all the Dept you can hope for a racing game tons of track of different game modes great time trials battle mode is the GP where you're racing against tons of other computer people trying to kill you its really fun and be so I'm going to be so there.
Difficulty
Who came to get pretty difficult add on the hardest setting you really have to both race well and use items strategically if you mess up if you drive off the track or something the game will punish you computer is dishes luckily there's an easier difficulty setting where is much more forgiving if you're just a casual game and you just want to chill out play have fun I recommend the easy difficulty in back even if you're a hardcore gamer you might want to stick with the easy difficulty for awhile you know you relax into it then by the time you see him at all he's emailed you have even more refined skills that you can apply have a better chance at getting first place when you do the higher difficulty like work your way up that way 30d then go harder that's what I say that's what I always say that for my parents and that's what I'm passing on to you my wisdom my brain it is yours.
In summarium:
To summarize my enthusiasm for this great game I just want to tell you a story about how when I was little I used to play this game and not at the music of this game isn't great because the music is great but what I used to do as I use to turn on the radio Tom Leykis was the same talk radio or maybe listening to stories like I'm Batman on record release city or Batman fighting me a twin and everything it's great just feel like to now Dylan out and play this game in like it's kind of like a zen-like meditation thing where you just play the game listen to this thing at the same time and you can just play for hours cuz this game is that amazing and you're liking them passing along this knowledge to you that you can just play this game and be amazed by it and you can pay for ours also with net play on this site you can play online on the internet with other people so I heard you to get on that play play this the times of other people and if you like woe this game is amazing with Diddy Kong Racing the way they have you unlock a tracks and everything and the emphasis on the story mode where you have to read the story about do i unlock tracks for multiplayer its not like this when you can just plug in and play and have lots of fun it's kind of a pain in the butt like Diddy Kong is kinda broken to be played online here on this website so I would highly recommend you focus your efforts on Mario Kart have fun with your friend online and you can tell them I sent you.

Racing it's way to first! Mario Kart 64 Review BestGamer24
I used to own Mario Kart 64 on the Nintendo 64, and I played it a lot. Mario Kart 64 is one of my favorite games of all time (maybe top 15).
I have played the original Mario Kart on the SNES (I'll review that one.), and it's great as well. It was Mario Kart's first transition into 3D.
It paved the way for future Mario Kart games.
Mario Kart 64 was developed and published by Nintendo, and released December 14th, 1996 for the Nintendo 64. Mario Kart 64 is the Nintendo 64's second best-selling game with 9.87 million copies sold., only to be topped by Super Mario 64. With all that out of the way, time for the review.
GRAPHICS, 8: For early N64 titles, it's very good. The game features 2D items and sprites with 3D environments and tracks.
When at the player
select screen, the eight characters have animations where they blink and have slight head movements.
When you
select the player, they have another animation, which is usually a celebration taunt.
Before each race, you'll see Lakitu countdown to start the race.
While racing, if you're in 2nd or 3rd place, you may notice that racers in front of you sort of pop-in if you get close. This could be because of the N64's memory limit.
Each characters karts are different colors to represent them, such as Mario's kart being red, Luigi's blue, Peach's kart being pink, and Bowser's being orange. The only characters with the same color karts are Luigi and Yoshi. although Yoshi's kart is a lighter green.
Each track varies in size with the smallest being Moo Moo Farm (0:36 lap time), and the largest being Rainbow Road (2:00 lap time).
On the tracks, there are obstacles moving. On Luigi's Raceway, there's a Luigi air balloon that moves up and down on the track, and even has an item box attached to it. On Moo Moo Farm, there are moles that pop up out of the ground. On one of the best courses in the game. Toad's Turnpike, you race on a highway and have to avoid traffic. On Rainbow Road, there's two chain chomps.
When you collect a item box, a small roulette wheel pops up and randomly
selects a item.
When you use a item, it'll display a small effect. Usually a fire trial, or a smoke effect, sometimes both.
When you powerslide, a smoke effect appears. When you land a jump, a small text graphic saying "POMP" will appear. If you jump, it'll say "BOING!"
Each character has about 8 sprites, and these sprites are shown when the characters turn. They're pixelated on the edges, but that may also be because of the N64's memory limits. The game looks very good, especially for the N64, so graphics get an eight.
SOUND, 10: Mario Kart 64 has a great soundtrack. I has about 20 songs. The best are Raceways, Bowser's Castle, and Rainbow Road.
The songs really add atmosphere the the game. When you start the game, Mario will say "Welcome to Mario Kart!".
During the Lakitu countdowns, he's holding a bar full of light. Two green lights, and one blue. There will be three beeps. It's basically "Ready, Set, GO!" because the third beep is longer than the rest.
The sound effects are good too. Powersliding, bumping, jumping, advancing to the next lap and winning all have sounds. When the last lap comes, the songs is sped up, which really adds a sense of 'hurry!'.
When you
select your character, they'll say something. Peach says "let's go!". Mario says "lets-a-go!". Luigi says "ho-ho!".
Also, after winning a race, they'll say something, too. Mario will say "I've got it!", while Luigi says "It's-a-me, Luigi! Number one!"
The sounds are really what made this game classic, so sound gets a ten.
ADDICITVENESS, 10: This is a game that is not only fun, but addictive. Trying to find all of the shortcuts are fun, as well as performing them.
Also, trying to win the cups on the harder difficulties is fun and challenging. The multiplayer modes, such as split-screen racing or the battle modes (four players only) are very fun too. I'd say it takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete each cup. I've easily played this game for 20+ hours. Addictiveness gets a ten.
STORY: There is no story to this game, but if I had to guess, Mario and his friends (and even Bowser), all take a day off to go kart racing.
The winner is awarded a gold medal, second place silver, and third place bronze. In the end, it's all just a fun day off for Mario and friends.
DEPTH, 7: There is plenty to do in this game. First off, there are 4 cups, and each cup has 4 different tracks., making a total of 16 tracks across 4 cups. There's the Mushroom cup, the Flower cup, the Star cup, and the Special cup. There are different trophies to get for winning cups on each difficulty. There's also shortcuts on almost every track, with the most famous being Wario Stadium and Rainbow Road.
There's also time trails, where you to get the best possible time on each track. There's no opponents, so this is where usually you experiment with the shortcuts or the track itself. The game features eight characters. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario and Bowser are all playable. Technically, they all play the same, but their karts handle differently. Toad and Peach are lighter, while DK and Bowser are heavier.
Mario Kart 64 contains One, Two, Three and even Four-player modes. The One, Two, and Three player modes are all split-screen racing. These can be fun and chaotic. The Battle Mode is exclusive to the Four-Player mode. In Battle Mode, there are four courses to battle in.
All four players race in a mini bomb kart with three balloons on it. If a player is hit with a item, is bumped hard, or falls of the course, a balloon will fall off. If all balloons fall off, that player is eliminated. The last player with balloons attached will win.
It's every man or himself and last man standing. It's extremely fun.
Apart from winning all cups on all difficulties, setting the best times on time trials, and playing the multiplayer modes, there's nothing else to do after that. For depth, Mario Kart 64 gets a seven.
DIFFICULTY, 5: Mario Kart 64 has three difficulties. 50 cc(easy), 100 cc(medium), and 150 cc(hard). On 50 cc, the computer racers are slower than the player, but there are always one or two that are almost as fast as the player. You can easily win all races on 50 cc.
Also, you get better items if you are behind.
On 100 cc, most computer racers go as fast or maybe a little faster that the player. If you're in front by a few turns, the computer will start rubber-banding (a very common issue found in racing games) and getting close. If you're behind, you'll mostly get good items, and obviously, it's harder to get first place.
On 150 cc, all computer racers go as fast or faster than the player. It's much harder to win, and if you're ahead, rubber-banding takes place.
The computer may get a blue shell if you're in first.
If you're behind you'll sometimes get good items.
150 cc is only recommend for really good players.
You can find a difficulty that isn't too easy, or too hard, so Difficulty gets a five.
OVERALL, 9.1: Mario Kart 64 is one of the best Mario Kart games. It was there series' first transition into 3D, although it isn't entirely 3D.
It's very enjoyable, fun, addictive, and easy to play. Overall Mario Kart 64 gets a 9.1 out of 10.
Thanks for reading this review, and until next review, bye!

"Nintendo took their SNES game and turned it into a masterpiece on the N64" sonicthehedgeho..
All 8 drivers are at the starting line now and the race is about to begin, now the lakitu has raised his light as he counts down with his other hand the question is though are you ready....well 3....2....1.....START THE REVIEW!
Graphics: 10 out of 10
If you have played the SNES version then you will immediately tell that the graphics in this game are FAR superior to its SNES counterpart, The drivers are alot more detailed and have their own voices and weight/driving differences which adds a nice sense of balance to the game when you choose which character to play as. Not only have the players but the courses are also superior as they are beautifully arranged, have interesting bits included inside each course, such as the characters faces in this game being in the sky on the course
Rainbow Road or how you have the boo's that disappear and reappear in the Banshee Boardwalk level. A perfect improvement on the graphics for this game so a 10 out of 10 is what this deserves in my opinion, Nice job Nintendo.
Sound: 10 out of 10
Already the first Mario Kart game had nostalgic and great music and once again Nintendo pulled through and made the music in this game breath-taking and very very nostalgic with its introduction theme, Bowser's Castle theme, Koopa Troopa's Beach theme, and of course the Award Ceremony theme. Each one of these songs presents a different feeling to the player as the introduction music give you that feeling of nostalgia and hypes you up to play the game, Bowser's Castle theme give you a feeling of uncertainty as you feel you have to keep your eyes and reflexes focus so you can avoid pits or enemies, Koopa Troopa's Beach theme gives you a feeling of relaxation where you can just sit back without any worries while you play this stage, and finally the Award Ceremony's theme gives you a feeling of accomplishment as you watch your character drive up to the castle to collect his trophy whether it be Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Not only is the music great but the sound effects are great as well as whenever you hit another person vehicle with a shell or other object you end up getting this "BANG!" sound or when a person slips on a banana peel that somebody left behind you hear the character say (if it was Mario/Luigi/Wario) Mama-Mia as they spin around trying to regain control of their kart. Another excellent job here so a 10 out of 10 is the rating I'm also giving the sound for this game.
Addictiveness: 10 out of 10
Whether you are alone or playing with family/friends you will have a great time playing this game as it is very addictive since there are 12 levels to choose from each with great map design and music, you can play the levels in a mirrored mode where you play the course backwards (you must unlock this first though), and there is also a battle mode where you and up to 3 other players can use items to attack each other until the other 3 people have lost all 3 of their balloons. Also trying to get all of the Golden trophy's may be a challenge and that is something you can do if you feel like having a goal while you play this game. If you have people over and you want a game that will
keep you entertained then this game will not let you down so just like the other two sections I'm giving addictiveness a rating of 10 out of 10
Story: BLANK
Just like my Mario Paint review there is no story to this game as far as I know, there might be a story but I'm not 100% sure so I'm going to rate this as blank.
Depth: 7 out of 10
Since this game is a racing from 1997 there wasn't alot that you could unlock other than the mirrored mode which I mentioned in the addictiveness section. However this game does offer alot of levels to play through so you will probably play this game for a few hours before you can go and play every course which does at to the addictiveness value and the depth value as well. In the VS mode you could play against each other either by racing and see who can make it to the finish line first or you can play the battle mode in which you have to try and defeat the other person/people first. They could have most likely added more to the to the game to make it longer so I'm going to have to give the depth of this game only a 7 out of 10.
Difficulty: 7 out of 10
If you pick up this game and think "Meh it's probably going to be a stroll in the park, I won't have any trouble beating this game quick." you are dead wrong my friend, as you can easily fall into a pit or other hazards along the course if you aren't paying attention to your surroundings and your foes. There are items that you can use as offense which can help you but be careful as if you're in first place you'd best be prepared to be on the defense otherwise you will end up getting sent flying back by a Red Shell, a person using a star, or a spiky blue shell. The courses depending on what kind of terrain it's based on will have its own unique traps such as some of the bridges in Banshee Boardwalk missing their railings, or the train in Kalimari Desert where a train can periodically come by and prevent you from moving forward. The controls work perfectly fine so they can't be put at fault here and the designs of the tracks don't have any faults either so this has a fair level of difficulty so a 7 out of 10 is what I'm giving the difficulty of this game.
Well we're almost at the end of the track so we'd best finish up this review. In short Mario Kart 64 is probably the best racing game for the N64 and if you have a chance to pick it up I promise, you won't be disappointed. Oh shoot I have to get going to the award ceremony otherwise I won't be able to get my prize trophy so see you on the next racetrack my friends *drives away*.......*crashes* Mama-Mia!

Welcome to Mario Kart! PixelBrick
VRROOOMMM.... WELCOME TO....well...my review of Mario Kart! In this review, you'll see why I love this game...and you must try it for yourself... let the review insanity begin!
Story: 7/10The story about this wonderful game is about our favorite Mario characters grinding the road in a special Mario Kart game. The gang must race in go-karts in thrilling stages to win a trophy to take home. (Or brag about it to Peach in Mario 64) This is basically the whole story like any other Mario Kart games. These characters will get their tires moving in 16 special courses. They shall conquer them all. They will do so in this game. WELCOME TO MARIO KART.
Depth: 8/10This game as said, very good, offers lots of special requirements. To start off here, we have power ups that will help you on your quest (or race) to get the gold. We have the banana peel. If placed, it will stay on the race track. If someone drives into it, they will slow down, and also swirl around in their go-kart. Now...the green shell. First appearance was Super Mario Bros, obviously. If used, it will go flying on the road. If it manages to hit somebody's go-kart, the same effect from the banana will come to them. The red shell is the same as the green shell, but if you're in a certain radius behind someone, enabled, it will target them and hit them. The spiked and deadly blue shell will hit whoever is in first place. It can accidentally help the player in second place, but you can catch up. The A I for the CPUs aren't that good in this game. The power star will give you invulnerability for a limited time. If you touch a player's go-kart...same effect from the banana peel. You can also go through cars in Toad's Turnpike in the Flower Cup. The triple banana/red shell/green shell gives you three of said item. The fake item box looks like a regular item box. If touched...SAME effect as said. Should you want to easily trick a CPU, place the fake item box in any patch of real item boxes...or somehow get five fake ones in a row, and block the road with them. Now on to the playable characters. Our favorite stars, Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Yoshi, DK, Bowser, Wario, and Yoshi. The 16 courses in this game are pretty unique, if I do say so myself. They are: Luigi's Raceway, Moo Moo Farm, Koopa Troopa Beach, and Kalimari Desert in the Mushroom Cup. In the burning Flower Cup, we have Toad's Turnpike, Frappe Snowland, Choco Mountain, and Mario's Raceway. In the Star Cup of truth, we have Wario Stadium, Sherbet Land, Royal Raceway, and Bowser's Castle. In the beloved Special Cup, we have DK's Jungle Parkway, Yoshi Valley, Banshee Boardwalk, and the course we all know and love...Rainbow Road.
Difficulty: 9/10The A I for the CPUs can sometimes be challenging. The controls can be slippery, and this game is good for people that want a challenge. First place in Toad's Turnpike or in any other course in 150 Cc is only reserved for the best Mario Kart players.
Addictiveness: 8/10This racing game full of wonders can get very addicting when you play it on the actual N64. This game is big in depth, has decent difficulty, and has a fun genre. I'd say this is one of the most addicting games ever to play in the retro universe. I highly recommend this game to be played on the original N64 to get a friend and play together.
Sound: 10/10Don't even go there. The audio?compression from this game is remarkable. The music is good too. I like the sound effects, and they just give you the nostalgia we would've gotten if the COD developers never existed! . What, you thought I was kidding about that last statement??But anyways, this game has lots of themes and sound effects that feel nice listening to. This is why I rate is a perfect ten.
Graphics: 9/10The graphics in the game are pretty good. Of course it's a N64 game, so it needs all the polygons. But overall, the graphics are pretty unique. It makes you miss when video games were happy and cartoony and not aggressive. Luckily, we have SOME games like this one. But this one right here...has outstanding graphics, I'll tell you that.
Overall: 9.1/10This game's graphics, sound, addictive rate, and every thing about it molds this racing game into success. I wish these games still sold in stores. Luckily I have a copy of this game from when I was a kid. This game is molded into perfection by Nintendo...and obviously the help from the directer, Shigeru Miyamoto.

Gateway to the new future of Mario Kart Forever Redjoker234
To this day this is still the hardest and most memorable
Mario Kart ever.
I still remember as a kid inviting both my friends and
female cousin and just destroying them
I always attacked my cousin it was
funny to me (and maybe I might have liked her, you all know boys can’t properly
express feelings at a young age). I played is so much I memorized the item
possibilities for each place and wow was it broken as hell. You can get triple
red shells a 3rd place. Almost guaranteed star in 8th and
more. In a way it was kind of random
number manipulation. And funny to see my friends and cousin think they almost
won till I struck back hard.
The Graphics of this game gets a solid 10
This game deserve a ten because during the age this game
came out it was and it feels like the graphics where somewhat ahead of its time
seriously its more detail on the racers the Mario in Super Mario 64. The stages
and the hazards were all designed and not even ignored. Heck, Yoshi’s valley
was so complex and big that they could not properly program a map for it and
got a question mark with its multiple paths and hazards it contained. The
detail of the trucks was good and each track from the icy lands of Sherbert
land, to the brown spaces of Choco Mountain, the beautiful neon like stars of
rainbow road and more. Although the weird part you well be staring at the
drivers backer all the time and for me in Mario kart 64 it’s always weirded me
out, yet in the others entries it never bugged me. This is the second Mario Kart
game since the one on the SNES and my goodness is the difference very
noticeable
The Sound is very memorable and deserves a 9
You basically hit enter, I mean start and the first thing
you hear is the red plumber saying “Welcome to Mario Kart!”
Even though there isn’t too many recorded sound of said
voice acting. N64 wasted a voice acting heavy game and in this game may be
minimal but with the few amount is enough to give you their personality and resents
the characters perfectly
Except bowser, I know he could talk as a kid but he never
did him just roars.
The music track is described with two simple words hype and
exciting. From some race track I can easily tell you some of my personal favorites
such as the main theme of the opening of Mario Kart 64. Which gives of the
celebratory rhythm and tell you to get ready and have fun. The Track themes
such as the country rhythm of moo moo farms give off the Country vibe that
suits the stage perfect along with frappe snow land which just screams winter
wonderland. Even the sinister music that belongs to Koopa castle (why isn’t it
name bowser castle it always felt like it was his anyways.)
The sound of all your action sound like spinning out control
from bananas, to the noise of drifting. Also the sound of the characters like
Mario who feels like he’s just screaming yolo in his mind as he uses the
mushrooms or shells.
However you do notice how the notes of the theme music
starts to repeat and it just simple add a new rhythm over the current one. Not all
are victims to repetition such as Choco Mountain and Koopa Castle
I am going to give this game a very impressive ten (10) for
addictiveness.
Mario kart 64 is one of the most addicting games in the
Nintendo 64. I nearly played this game so much I had beaten all the time trial
ghost, learn to exploit items, memorized the stages and learn the glitch
shortcuts. (Which pissed of my friends when I did it, like the rainbow road
jump skip). You will be playing the game on easy of course. But when you get to
150cc you will feel the speed and the impact of every turn and shortcut. Even
though it will get the feeling of being repetitive that won’t happen until you
played all the way to the point of mirror mode’s completion.
That is why I am giving this game a huge 10 for
addictiveness.
When it comes to a story Mario Kart has nothing to offer but…do you really need
one
To be fair this game is not meant to have a story I mean it’s
about driving go karts and I sure they didn’t want to use Mario party’s plot of
friends playing to see who the best is. But at the same time I really hate
calling Nintendo lazy on this. Anything could have been better than nothing I’m
sure maybe they were scared of messing up but there’s nothing heck, at least
explain why Mario invites bowser instead of making fans say “just cause they
are enemies don’t mean you can have a friendly race together with the group,
more the merrier” Maybe the toadstool kingdom holds a race every year to honor
one day of peace among the country and everyone ones allowed (even bowser).but
of course we get nothing, oh well it is still a great game even without the
story mode it lack. Have fun and start thrown them bananas.
This game sadly gets a 6 in Depth
This game has great and memorable tracks but when the
nostalgia glasses off (I’m the only one of my friends who actually takes them
off) this game doesn’t have much to offer in the table. The replay value is
slightly above moderate much higher if you have friends but I never really
played with with friends that often as it may sound.
When you play this solo you will mostly like learn all the
short cuts and tricks heck, maybe even some of the cheat shortcuts. And
eventually there won’t be much left to do by yourself so let’s quickly go over
what Mario kart has to offer you and you alone.
There are four cups
in the game with each of those cup having four tracks. Making it to a grand
total of sixteen tracks. They are all very unique and there is no race tracks
that seem to similar. There also Races in the snow, stars and all kind of variety.
And the most tragic thing about Mario kart is that there’s nothing to unlock
besides mirror mode that reflects all the courses. No secret characters no
secret tracks. Hell battle mode is worthless without friends because there is
no AI for it and it sucks without 4 players playing together because 1v1 are
boring and 3 way is incomplete. And once you play it to death like I did
there’s nothing else to do besides time trails and let’s face it kids don’t
like that. Because my friends never even touched it.
I am giving this game an seven in difficult
The reason is the some tracks due offer challenges like
Choco mountain a small sections where (choco or chocolate?) boulders fall onto
the stage and the pattern is not always the same so if you try to go the path
that could have avoided it last lap you may end up getting hit. Also there is a
curve where you can fall into but in 50cc it’s boarded. Sherbert land has those
Fricking annoying penguins (GAHHH RAHHA WHY! Lord Miyamoto) annoying. Moving
penguins also in a tough spot you will need to cut corners but if you fail you
potently fail into the icy water. Yoshi’s Valley where just a single banana
will make you fall of the stage and fall and rage. And the last one to be
discussed is Toad’s Turnpike it’s not so bad even in 150cc but in mirror mode
when the car move at their fastest, yes even the stage cars come towards you. I
wish you luck when a car blocks your way when it’s near the finish line. Now if
you’re like me you know drifting was the easiest thing to do to get a speed
boost but they simplified drift boost since Mario kart double dash. Drifting
the hardest thing to do in this game. If you over drift you will just spin out
of control and lost momentum. Also one you get the hang of it really easy to
reduce the damage that bananas cause. Instead of wiping out right away your
kart wobbles and then spins out of control that is unless they are holding it
behind themselves. And some of the short cuts are hard to pull of even when it
seems to be in your reach. Each move comes with a consequence, do I risk it or
play it safe and hope for a good item. IF you make a mistake and it is the
final lap the odd of you getting to first play are basically impossible. Which
makes it a great game for hardcore Mario kart players or those that forgot how
tough Mario Kart 64 since they got too used to the easy Mario’s Kart games.
This is why the game deserves a great number eight when it
comes to difficulty
The game possesses a hidden technical side with the
characters, they by all means are not all equal.
Mario and Luigi are balanced, Toad, Yoshi, and Peach are
light with good acceleration, and Bowser, Wario, and Donkey Kong are
heavyweights, who can make lightweights spin out by bumping into them. HAHA,
smile at your friend’s misery well, nothing you haven't done before,
really. And in this game you don’t have
there banana peels you have the big number of 5, Think of the chaos you can cause
with that much bananas peels.
So in the end the score is a Big 9.1
Ignoring the fact that is one of my favorite Mario karts to
play when it comes to the difficulty. It has a lot to offer for its time. sixteen
tracks in 3D remember Yoshi valley was a big risk and they could even property
program/design a map for it. You must play this game since it contributed a lot
of content that set up for all the future Mario’s and the ones that are to
come.

Mario Kart 64 review SacredShadow
Okay, today I will be reviewing mario kart 64 for the Nintendo 64, I always do have a great time racing on this game, it is always a lot of fun and I remember playing it a whole lot as a kid, it was great. Now then, on to the review!
Now then, for the graphics, this game is in 3d and I must say that it looks pretty nice and I think it is a great change from 2d in the previous mario kart game. It really adds depth and dimension to the game, whereas before it would be hard to make out walls, buildings or anything that you wouldn't be able to avoid crashing into because it was in 2D. So with it being 3D, I can race more effectively because I am able to see walls and other shapes clearly and avoid colliding with them. The graphics of this game are quite amazing, especially for N64, so that is why I scored them an 8, the characters, and places all look pretty good and there was clearly some effort put into the graphics of this game.
I have to admit, a lot of the music in this game is really good and really catchy, my favorite is the rainbow road, a lot of people like the music for this course, I must say that the sound of this game is great, if not, one of its best features. The only complaint that I have about it is I think that the kart engines are really annoying, they are just a little annoying. Not that bad though, I just think that they are a little bit too loud, but overall, the sound of this game is still really good, so I scored it a 9 out of 10.
To be honest, it is just one of those games you never get tired of playing and it is always fun to play. I never really get bored of this game, it is always a lot of fun and I enjoy playing it alone, but it is even more fun to play with a few friends, it really makes it more exciting. There is a lot to do in this game, there are so many courses and there is a time trial and battle mode as well which are also fun to play. But, this is really just one of those games that you can never get enough of and it never gets old, so this game is a lot of fun and is very addicting, so it deserves a perfect 10 for addictiveness and re playability.
This game doesn't have a story and I think it is best that way, it is all racing, there is no plot or story for this game which is perfectly fine, not every game needs a storyline to be great. Just enjoy racing! That's all that matters!
There is lots to do in this game, you can race by yourself in a grand prix or you can do a time trial to get a fast time for a course or battle against the CPU players, there is also a versus mode where you can race against other computer players on a team. Personally though, I think it is always more fun to play with a friend and compete against them to see who is best! There are 3 difficulty levels, 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc each one is more difficult and challenging. So there is a lot to do in this game and there are also some useful items that can help you, like banana peels which can be used to make other racers slip on them and spin around, we also have the green shell which can be fired either forward or backward, either way it travels in a straight path hitting whoever is directly in front of it. There is also the red shell which can target another racer and follow them to hit them and they will spin around a few times, slowing them down, (it is one of the most useful items in my opinion), there is also spiny blue shell which will target first place and come down and hit them making them lose their items and perhaps 1st place. Then there is also the invincibility star, which obviously grants you invincibility for a short period of time, and you cannot be affected by anything, also another very good item, then there is triples of items, like green/ red shells, and also bananas, they have the same effect as before, but you can use them 3 times! Isn't that great? Then there is the fake item box which looks like a real one, what I do is put them in between real item boxes or I plant them directly in front of them so another racer gets a nice surprise! You can play as either Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Peach, Wario, Donkey Kong, or Bowser. There are 3 weight classes, lightweight: which have high acceleration, heavyweight which have high top speed and middleweight which have a balanced acceleration and top speed.
There are 4 cups, mushroom, flower, star and special cups and there is also an extra mode which lets you race on the courses in a flipped mirror mode.
Honestly, this game can be a little challenging, the computers for 50cc and 100cc are pretty easy but they can be a little tricky in 150cc, but not too bad though. It can be a bit challenging or tricky at times, but it is not impossible. Control wise it can be difficult, especially if you are playing it on vizzed. If you play it a few times, you will immediately get the hang of it, so the difficulty of this game is not that high, the computers are fairly easy and a little tricky but nothing extreme. So overall, the game is a little challenging here and there, but it may vary for some people, to me though, its not extremely difficult, so I scored it a 6 which seems appropriate. The controls can be a little hard which is where most of the difficulty came in, but actually race wise, I think that 150cc is tricky but other than that it really isn't that hard.
This game is great, everything about it, from the sound, graphics and addicting gameplay, this game is nothing but fun, this is a great mario kart game, and it is one of my favorites. All of the amazing features make a great game, it is just perfect. Nintendo did outstanding with this game, if you are a mario kart fan, I definitely recommend this game for you, it is simply amazing and addicting, so it is worth playing!
So, what did you think of my review? All comments and feedback are greatly appreciated, thanks!

shaking things up ender44
Lately I have been reviewing games that have had the audacity to shake up the system. Games that pushed away the standard formula for their respective genres. And that brings me to Mario kart. All of the racing games in its day involved some guy who liked going fast and he raced all over the world with his many racing buddies. All of the tracks were bland and got old after a while. Mario kart dared to shake up the system. It brought all of the characters we know and love and put them in a racing game. It also had tons of race tracks inspired by Mario games. It has also inspired over 5 sequels that you should also check out. With that out of the way, I shall give my verdict.Graphics: What can I say, this game looks better than a number of N64 games. A lot of the N64 games had sub-par character looks and strange looking overworlds. Mario kart's characters are rounded out if you know what I mean. The maps use little cardboard if any cardboard in their construction, and look fantastic. The animations for the power-ups look fantastic and are better than the animations of other N64 games Sound: I am crazy about the music for this game. It is the best of any racing game in its time, and is great to race to. Each theme fits perfectly with the stage it is representing and is just plain awesome. Most other racing games went with a simple guitar melody for their games and I applaud Nintendo pushing the bottom line in many categories.Story: well...there isn't really one. You try to get first place in every thing you do, so in one way, this game is kind of like a real life simulator. lol. But there isn't really any story thrown your way.Addictiveness: I have every single Mario kart, the reason for that being this game. I have beaten every single stage a multitude of times and I know every in and every out of every single stage. The computers in this game are just challenging enough that you will have to stay on your toes, which will make it difficult to get bored. This game is extremely fun to play and I guarantee you will have a great time with it.Depth-There are 16 stages(20 if you count the ones used for battle) each with a varying level of difficulty. There are 8 characters each with different stats. It would be very hard to literally do everything in this game.Difficulty: This game really is not that hard. Only a few stages throw a lot of difficulty your way, and it wont be too hard to get over these obstacles.Verdict: This game, its prequel, and its sequels are revolutionary. They did what no racing game could do. Using Mario characters, great graphics, great music, and a great amount of things to do, this game will change the way you look at racing games. I hope you take my word for it and give this game a try.

Mario Kart 64 Review Zircron Swift
Ah Mario Kart, you are on nearly every Nintendo system, and each one of those games are fun to play. It's been a while since I played it, time to break it out again.....on the Wii. The only retro console I have is the GameBoy, but I'll get an NES one day. In fact, I was tempted to get the FC twin....*someone throws a tomato at me* Oh yeah, the review....This game was nothing too special, but it did have it's moments. Let have a look at them.
For starters, it's in 3D. The last game was in 2D, but was able to give that 3D feel. Now it's in proper 3D, although I'm not sure I can say that, with the 3DS being in full 3D. Ok, it's 3D, but on a 2D screen, not "grab you" 3D like the 3DS, but I digress. These 3D graphics were a great add on to the game, giving the sense of direction that enabled you to power-slide effectively. Power-what, you ask? Power-sliding helps you drift round corners smoothly, you can also get a boost from it. You can use it to boost your way through long straight roads called "snaking" In fact, it was once considered frowned upon by a few fans of the game to "snake" through a course. I suspect that they couldn't do it themselves. But now everyone that can do it, does it. You'll know if your power-sliding if there are sparks in your rear wheels. Blue is a very small boost, yellow is a better boost, and orange is like half a mushroom, maybe a third....
Oh yeah, power-ups. This game changed the face of Mario Kart weaponry. People hide in fear of the name, followed by swearing, and then some swearing at the person that threw it. There was the green shell, simple moving shell that bounced off walls. Then there was a red shell, harder to avoid, as it seeks the person in front, but that could be blocked by holding a banana skin (used to slip drivers) or shell behind you. Now, there is The Blue Shell! A good weapon to some, a terrible weapon to others. It hits the person in first place in a blue explosion. Helpful to those who need to steal that position, but hated when you are close to the finish line on the last lap, you think you are going to make it, and then.....That Blue Shell! You find yourself either being over taken by three drivers - making you forth in the race - or after recovering, you try and speed up, and try and make it first, only to have been beaten by Toad by a hair. I'm not sure which is worse...
There are also thunder bolts, that shrink everyone in front of you, and you can even run them over (take that Toad! ^^), mushrooms to speed yourself up, fake item boxes, used to fool those who think they are getting something else, and of course, the super star, making your faster and invincible for a short time. You get to choose from eight different characters to race in four different cups in three different engines. The light weight characters can steer better, but the heaver weighted characters can knock off the light weight ones, which can be annoying at times =( The design of the tracks are nice. I like the Yoshi one with the different paths to take, so you'll come back to that one to see which is a faster route. Although some are a little boring, such as Rainbow Road. They could have done something with that course, but they must have thought that simple was often the best.
So you have three modes to choose from: Grand Prix, where you race for the best in four tracks. Time Trail, where you race on your own on a track for the fasted time. And then there's the Battle Mode. This is a personal favorite of mine in this game. Instead of racing to be first, you must attack other drivers with items and be the last one standing. I find this epic, having to use your cunning to get that Toad with the green shell, or sneakily reverse to throw that person off and get him in the back. My favorite is the Sky Scraper track. I love how you can try and throw them off by jumping over a gap, or even - if you are the attacker - be bold enough to jump over that gap and continue the chase, but I could throw the shell backwards and get that Toad plummeting down to his doom if he thinks about that....*evil glint in eyes*
What's my problem with Toad, you say? No problem, I just kind him annoying and smug. On top of that, he's the hardest driver to beat in this game. I always love beating him, but he has beaten me more time =( Some people think he's a fun guy, while others think he's annoying because he kept saying "your princess is in another caster" GAH! When will my quest end? Overall I give this game a 8.3/10 It seems like a simple game, with nothing that special in it, but all you need to do is give it a chance and it will win your heart. Now, if you'll excuses me, I have a life and death battle with a certain mushroom on top of a Sky Scraper. Oh, and I need to get some blue and red balloons as well as some karts....

Great game! but has improved(: mariahurdler
Graphics-10: This game has pretty good graphics if you compare it to other games on the Nintendo 64. Since the creators where able to develop that 3D effect in Super Mario 64 they were then able to input it in Mario Kart 64 as well. However, the game has clearly been improved (well I guess It might just be my opinion, it’s really up to you. What do you think?) If you compare Mario Kart 64 to Mario Kart DS, I think Mario Kart DS will take it. Mario Kart 7 is in actual 3D but it’s good to limit yourself from it. Nonetheless, the point is Mario Kart 64 is a great game that everyone will enjoy but if you would like better graphics then I recommend playing Mario Kart DS. … But within the game, I simply love how all the different courses have a different theme, it’s very interesting! Some of the characters even happen to have their own racing course.
Sound-10: The sound is great! As I mentioned before, each course is different and what I loved the most is how every course has its own little theme song. The course “DK Jungle Parkway” has music and sounds that actually make it sound like you are in a jungle! Most games have the same sound in every different course or place, which does’t really add any excitement to the game itself. Some of you will find that if you are really into the game racing or whatever then you will probably not even pay attention to the music. Probably the sound that everyone will notice is when you happen to hit an item box (it’s a cool little sound.)
Addictiveness-10: This game is really addictive, not only is the racing fun but trying to pass the game is what gets one really addicted. Once you get the hang of the game then all you want to do is keep racing until you are able to earn a golden cup in each of the “Cups” (Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, and Special Cup.) But we’ll get into the depth of the story in abit. Another thing that might be addictive is wanting to beat the best times, maybe to try to be a better racer. By being a fast racer you could have fun and play multiplayer with your friends and try to beat each other. (Playing with friends is more addictive because you are actually racing your friends not some computer)
Story-?: Hmm, well who knows what the story is. I actually have never wondered about it until right now. Why is it that everyone, even the rivals, decided to get together and have a race? Well I guess we will have to keep wondering about this one until the creators come up with a story or something!
Depth-8: Well this game has some depth but not that much, although there is different things to do in here that are entertaining. Like I was mentioning above, there are four cups in which your goal is to win first place and earn that golden cup. However, not only is there four different cups but in order to pass the game you also have to earn a golden cup for each Cup in different difficulty levels (50cc, 100cc, and 150cc.) That makes it twelve Cups in total or also (correct me if I’m wrong) forty-eight races. After you have obtained a golden cup for each Cup a mirror mode for every cup and course is unlocked! Good luck placing first and obtaining golden cups for the mirror mode races too! You could also play time trial, in which you race by yourself and try to get the best time as possible, then you could try to beat your own time (it will be a ghost.)Well besides all the racing there is in the game, there is also other things you could do besides racing. There is also a battle mode in the game in which each racer or character has balloon attached to their kart (the balloons are like your lives.) Battle mode is like survival of the “fittest”, the characters attack each other until the character with the most remaining balloons wins the game.
Difficulty-7: The game is really not that difficult, once you get the hang of it and keep racing you will naturally get better. With no doubt, you will become a great racer in the end because you’ll get the hang of the controls and will know the courses like the palm of your hand! Without a struggle you will find yourself winning first place and obtaining golden cups! The only thing that is hard though is that the game has a HUGE flaw. (Well it happens to bother me a bit haha) Every time a character is hit they can get back up quick and easily in full speed, like if they had never been hit. This makes it difficult because despite your lead, the computer operated characters will always be right behind you.
Overall-9.8: Overall (and despite its flaw) this is a great game that will keep you entertained for quite a while! I love playing this game but in the Nintendo DS version, I find its improvements where really helpful and a lot better.

Mario Kart 64 Review patar4097
Mario Kart 64 is one of the best racing games of all time.
Graphics - 10The graphics are absolutely stellar for a n64 game. And the biggest progression from Super Nintendo Super Mario Kart to Mario Kart 64, was the new 3d playing field. I have not seen a N64 game with graphics this good.
Sound - 9The music is just so good, mostly rainbow road, which was later remixed and put in Double Dash. One downside is, I feel the sound of the engines are too loud, but not to any bad extent.
Depth - 8 Addictiveness - 9This game is good on single player, but takes a whole new level when playing with a friend or two. There are plenty of tracks, 16 courses in all, getting progressively harder, but has four less courses than the original. But still good enough to keep you happy. It's also fun to play over and over. Battle mode and Time Trials keep the fun going, it you want to do something besides racing.
Difficulty - 7 I'm not sure how hard this game was when it originally came out, but in this day and age, it seems very challenging. Without the coins that were on the original game are gone, which definitely makes the game easier.
Overall - 9.9The original took more standard kart racing to a high never before reached, but this game is was put it over the top, in a good way, and it makes it more fun. Mario Kart 64 is a must play for all Nintendo fans, and also just any person ever to play a video game! I give it a rating of 9.9/10.

Mario Kart 64 defined the racing genre back in the day gamerforlifefor..
Mario Kart 64 was the first racing game I ever played and is the reason I love the Mario Kart series and racing games in general. It will always have a special place in my heart. With that off my chest LET'S GET THIS REVIEW STARTED!
Graphics: I give the graphics a 10 because for it's time it was the best looking racing game out there and one of the best looking N64 games ever made. For that reason I give the graphics a 10.
Sound: The soundtrack is outstanding. Some of my favorite music in the game included Rainbow Road, Bowser's Castle, and Toad's Turnpike. Because of how fantastic and memorable the soundtrack is I give the sound a 10.
Addictiveness: This game is definitely the funnest racing game on the N64. With beautiful graphics for it's time, an outstanding soundtrack, and memorable and entertaining tracks you'll definitely want to play this game again. I know I will. One thing I didn't like about this game though was Yoshi Valley because for one thing the leaderboard doesn't work combined with the fact that it's so easy to fall off of or get knocked off the edge made it so infuriating to race on. All the other tracks are really fun though so I'll give addictiveness a 9.
Story: There is no story therefore I'm leaving it blank
Difficulty: As I explained earlier, Yoshi Valley is infuriatingly difficult. the only other track that gave me lots of trouble was toad's turnpike because of all those big vehicles on the road that can send you flying. Other than that the other tracks aren't to difficult so I give difficulty and 8.
Depth: Once you complete every grand prix there's nothing else to do in single player other than time trials. The only other thing you can do besides that is multiplayer. So for that I give depth an 8.
Overall: Mario Kart 64 is the best racing game for the console. The series as a whole has dramatically improved since this game came out but this is still a fantastic game regardless. A true masterpiece that should be played by all gamers.

Mario kart review Beastmode64
This game is a very classic game. It was a great racing game. It was one of the best at its time. There are 16 courses and 4 difficulty modes you can play it on. First off before I start my review I would like to say this game was a great one and you should give it a try. Now here is my review.
Graphics 10/10
the graphics on this game where great for the n64. I really liked them because they where very classic. They added very nice scenery to every course on this game which makes it nice. They also added detail on the ground and sky. The graphics had great quality that's why I rated it a 10/10 stars.
Sound 10/10
I loved this sound. It made me calm and every time I would get mad at something I would play this game and just listen to the sound. It was great. Nintendo really worked hard on the sound. The sound was just out standing and that's why it deserves a 10/10 stars
Addictiveness 9/10
This game was addictive. I can play it for hours it is that good. It is fun to play balloon battles with friends. I can do that for hours. It is always fun. The game was addictive but once you loose you just want to quit that is why it deserves a 9/10 stars
Story
there is no story to this game. All you do is race and balloon battle each other.
Depth 6/10
I was a little disappointed about how short the game is. There are only 16 courses to choose from. I was disappointed about this that why it deserves a 6/10 stars . :(
difficulty 8/10
man this game gets hard. You will get so far on a course and a half a minute later they are already on your tail. It gets irritating and frustrating that why the rating is a 8/10 stars.
Overall 9.9/10
its game is a great game. There are many pros and cons to it. I wish they added more courses to the game. But I loved this game it was a fun experience and that why this game deserves a 9.9/10 stars.
Thanks for reading this review. Just post comments and what you think bellow. I would appreciate it thank you

My Review of Mario Kart 64 homestarfan13
so seeing that my first two reviews were on underrated games I thought I'd do a review of a game everyone's heard of so this is my review for Mario kart 64 for the n64 (obviously).
Graphics
The graphics look good for the system as it shows how great 3d can be with the tracks looking brilliant and the characters look great so good start with graphics.
Sound
The music is great just as normal and the sounds for characters are great as well so another good thing for this game. Man its hard to find bad things about this game.
Addictiveness
This game is very addicting and you will always want to play this game again. But the later difficulty's in the grand prix might make you want to stop playing for awhile.
Story
OK the story is that bowser got fend up of capturing peach and fighting Mario and just wanted to hang out with them so they invited a bunch of friends to go karting with them but it then turned into a free for fall race where they all just want to kill each other or there was just a racing tournament since there's no real story you can just make up your own I like mine the best.
Depth
Well there are 4 circuits with 4 races in each and there are 3 difficulty levels and when you clear the final difficulty level you unlock mirror mode where all the stages are flipped around so yeah there's alot in this game.
Difficulty
Now when the difficulty starts off easy in 50cc but when you get to 150cc the computer starts to cheat don't believe me well basically the computer will somehow always be behind you and somehow always get the best items. But then again that's common for Mario kart
Overall
Overall this is my favourite mario kart game out of the 7 and I always look forward to playing this i'll give this a 9/10 see next time for my next review

Mario Kart 64 (N64) StuffAllstar
Oh no Blue Shell incoming! Oh crap there goes Peach wait I have a red shell HAHA! If you are like me and my friends you would understand that this is sometimes how the commentary is, except at a much higher level. This game is called Mario Kart 64 one of the best multi-player games on the N64. This game is highly recommended to play with friends and family and is a insanely fun game.
Sound-10
Everything you hear is great the music the sound effects everything! Listen to your foe's scream when you hit him/her with a red shell. Then listen to the great music as play, if you're like me this gets you more pumped for the race and 1st place! Take Wario's Stadium for example the music there is fantastic and to add to the fun you get to hear all the screams and losses of your foe's!
Addictiveness-10
Playing with friends on battle mode and versus mode are the best things! You also get to play Grand Prix if it is only you and a friend playing, but the advantage is you get to see who really is the better racer! In battle mode you get 3 balloons and many fighting/strategic items such as the banana peels!
Depth-6
This game offers much more than just battling your friends it also has your own single player to see if you have what it takes to be the best racer against all the CPU's. With the Grand Prix starting at 50 cc and going up to 150 cc (and a special reward if you are good) the CPU's start at the easiest level and with each cc they get harder to beat. Also as you go through the cc's your kart, as well as the CPU's, gets faster!
Difficulty-3
This game is relatively easy due to the fact the CPU's are easy to face up to 150 cc even though they are still easy to fight. This game may have seemed difficult yet fun but it was easy for all those gamers who just like to get together and have fun.
Graphics-9
The graphics in this game are simple and 2-D like some parts of the game is 3-D but a majority isn't. Your entire character is 2-D along with the other characters. Simple 2-D made into fun is what i say about multi-player games such as this one!
Overall-10
Playing with friends in battle and versus and Grand Prix, listening to the sounds and looking at the games great graphics can make anyone happy. A family friendly game that has great items such as Blue Shells, Red Shells, Green Shells, Banana Peels, and so much more! Even if there are only 8 characters to choose from this game will live on in my heart and heck maybe even yours!

Mario Kart 64 SuperCrash64
Well to start off this is the first.3D Mario kart so enjoy the review
as in proper order i will start out with the graphics
The
Graphics for Mario Kart 64. are rather neat in style. The sprites are kind of choppy. then again its understandable do to The Nintendo 64 console being a old system and as i said before 3D
Gaming has not really improved until later 6 and 7 generation consoles .So these graphics are kind of choppy but there still pretty good non, the, less . I give the graphic visuals a 9
Sound
My oh my lots of games have wacky, sound effects and Mario kart 64 happens to be 1 of those games however there are a,lot of variety.s .of sound effects to keep the player going.soundtrack This .soundtrack is pretty neat it has really fun and cool joy to it with lots of umps. so sound is really wacky and neat, I give the sound effects a 10
Addictiveness
Mario Kart 64 has what you can expect from The Nintendo 64 & racing games has a,lot of wacky.items.sound effects really its a matter of thoughts,I say Mario kart is addicting for the joy of.crashing and banging other peoples carts .so that being said Mario Kart is very addicting . I give addictiveness for Mario kart 64 a 10
Story I do not see a story in racing games such as Mario kart because its a racing title ,racing games are,not really meant to have story lines
Depth. The Mario Kart Series did,not have more features until later on such as Mario kart DS and Mario Kart Wii . What Mario kart 64 offers is a lot of shortcuts between stages ,and a bunch of tracks also,A Bunch of items to use for you advantage the game is mainly difficult when you have it on the 100 speed or 150 speed settings because then they go like crazy fast.
so I Give Depth A 6
Difficulty in general the game is not that hard.the characters may go crazy fast on 150 speed setting but its hard were you just stop playing the game .Unlike Mario Kart Wii,Mario Kart 64 is more balanced were In Mario Kart Wii its more for just spamming shells every where.so challenge I give Mario Kart 64 A 5
Overall Mario kart 64 is one of a good launch titles like goldeneye 64.Legend of Zelda Mario 64 or Smash Bros .This game was rather a successful launch its even downloadable through the Wii Virtual console. I Rate the game A ,9,6 a Grade A i highly recommend it to anyone .

Mario Kart Sixty-Four ProGamer135
Welcome to my retro video game review of Mario Kart Sixty-Four. I wish you the best whilst reading over all of the details I have typed up. Good luck, all of the fellow Vizzed users who read over my review of Mario Kart Sixty-Four!;)
Overall: Mario Kart Sixty-Four is an awesome retro video game and deserves to be added inside the Retro Game Room. I seriously enjoy Mario Kart Sixty-Four, so I rated the overall 9.3. I hadn't rated it ten because I don't think all of the stats are perfect. An example is that Mario Kart
Sixty-Four doesn't include much extensive content and I had rated the depth seven.
Graphics: The graphics for Mario Kart Sixty-Four are swell, but when riding inside the karts the characters use, it seems a tad different and a barely near strange. The course graphics are astounding and the items are perfectly perfect. Other than the issue I had mentioned earlier, the graphics seem perfect.
Sound: Similar to my opinion about most Mario video game tunes, most of the background soundtracks in each course grasp a catchy tune and rhythm. I enjoy humming along with most of the tunes that grasp catchy tunes. The background soundtracks for each course compare swell with the background scenery, fixed objects, and movable objects. I agree with most positive opinions about the soundtracks for Mario Kart Sixty-Four.
Addictiveness: I will most likely play Mario Kart Sixty-Four multiple time periods into the recent future because I agree with everything I had mentioned, above. Plus, it is another original Mario Kart video game included inside the series. I think that Mario Kart Sixty-Four should be featured in other areas and other websites.
Story: There isn't a story included inside Mario Kart Sixty-Four, as it is a racing video game and many racing video games don't include a story inside them. I agree Mario Kart Sixty-Four should include a story inside it, though, because I agree it would hook the video game player with surprising twists included inside the stories included inside the video game. Most original video games don't include such an extended story inside of them, especially racing video games.
Depth: Mario Kart Sixty-Four doesn't include much extensive content because it is an original video game and may original video games don't include much extensive content. If they do, most of the courses would be short and not extensive. An example is Super Mario Brothers. Mario Kart Sixty-Four includes eight characters to choose as such a kart rider; Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser, and Donkey Kong, four Grand Prix cups; Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, and Special Cup, four different video gaming difficulties, and sixteen racing courses; Kalimari Desert, Moo Moo Farm, Wario Stadium, Royal Raceway, and much more. There are three types of video gaming modes; Grand Prix, Time Trials, and Battle. This seems similar to much extensive content, but when you play Mario Kart Sixty-Four, you'll take a gander at what I define. There is much more content, though.
Difficulty: Mario Kart Sixty-Four is such a quite simple retro video game included inside the Retro Game Room to learn the controls of. Once you learn the correct controls and keys to choose and suggest to yourself, you will be perfectly prefect when playing Mario Kart Sixty-Four. The courses are quite simple if you know perfect strategy to use and process. This is the reason why I had rated the difficulty four.
Well, I highly recommend Mario Kart Sixty-Four to video game players that enjoy playing racing video games. I think you users should give this video game a shot. If you decide to give Mario Kart Sixty-Four, good luck playing and I am sure you will have no issues playing, Good luck!;)

Mario Kart 64 Review PokemonMaster121
Mario kart 64 for Nintendo 64 is a fun kart game to play by yourself and racing against you friends!
The overall of this game is 9.7 because this a very well put game for everyone to enjoy but the game gets harder in 150c or mirror but that's why games are like that.
The graphics in Mario Kart 64 is amazing and will always deserve a 10 because this is the second Mario Kart game and it is in 3-D already. That's just a great way to start the series but the first Mario Kart is kinda 3-D?
The sound is quite awesome because when I go to a course it reminds me about every other Mario Kart game and the past places too.
The addictiveness is a lot because I bought this game in the Wii Shop and I always/sometimes play it with my little brother but when it gets more harder you don't feel like playing the game anymore but it's an amazing game still.
The depth of this game is 6 because you have to go through Mushroom cup the Flower cup (I think) then the next and the next one but after you finish a cup you have to do it again and again but that's why Mario Kart 64 is awesome.
The last part is difficulty, I give this a 5 because in the start the cups are easy but when you hit 150c it get more hard but you can still have fun in the game.
Now to warp this up is that Nintendo put an amazing racing/kart game to play or to play with your friends and to enjoy every single time you play a cup with yourself and friends and to do races for free or some time trials or mess around.

Mario Kart 64 Review Marcmoney
Overall - 9.7
Mario Kart 64 is one of the best classic games on the Nintendo 64. It is a whole lot of fun and I really enjoy playing this game. I remember playing this as a child and now when I play it, it just brings that memory back and I remember all the fun times playing it with my friends. It is a very good quality game and very fun to play with other people.
Graphics - 10
The graphics are so good. It looks so fun and is still fun on this very day. The effects are so classy. When you use items and hit other racers, it is just so memorable.
Sound - 10
The music is very good. I really enjoyed the music in every level. The sound effects with the character's talking and the items going everywhere. I really liked it. :)
Addictiveness - 9
I would play this game all the time. Some of the time I would put hacks in where you could drive very fast and sometimes get out of the level and glitch up. This is game is not only fun to play, but is fun to play with hacks too. The game never gets old. I do not think that any Mario Kart games would ever get old.
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game. All you do is play up to 16 levels and you can either play single player or cooperatively with 2 people. Another thing in this game is that you can play up to 4 players and either do a battle mode or some other fun things to play.
Depth - 8
The game has some awesome features. One would be the things I said before in the "Story" section and the other would be playing Time Trail Mode and trying to set a record on how fast you can beat the level. It gets very addicting and what is great is that they would put a "ghost" while you are trying to beat your record. Another thing about this game is that you can play at any difficulty from 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and Mirror Mode. I would play Mirror Mode all the time.
Difficulty - 4
The game is not that hard. What I do not understand is when you are in first place and you think that you are very far away from your opponents, you are wrong, they would be always right behind you for some reason. Some of the time, one of the computers would be so far ahead in the level that there would be no way of catching up. Sometimes it would be you who would be far ahead than the computers. It depends on how good you are in the game. I guarantee that I get this, but not a lot.
Wrap Things Up...
Mario Kart 64 is what everyone should be enjoying on the Nintendo 64. I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already. It is a big amount of fun and can sometimes be addicting. :)

Mario Kart 64 is Awesome vizzedude
Mario Kart: One of my all-time favorite franchises. I've played Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7. But, I can add something new to the list: Mario Kart 64. Man, this game I really like and it brings back tons of time spent on Super Mario Wiki reading about this game. So, let's start the fun.
Graphics: 8
Man, the graphics for this game actually outrank the Zelda 64 games.
Sound: 8
I like it when you drift how it makes it so accurate to the real thing.
Addictiveness: 10
This game gives me hours of fun and if I could stay up for 1 whole week and play a single game, it would have to be this one.
Story: 1
Pretty much no story.
Depth: 8
You have 16 courses to choose from and 8 characters to choose from. Well, it's not as good as having 32 courses and a ton of characters to choose from.
Difficulty: 4
Like I said in my Pac-Man Collection review, you can jump in and play.

Mario Kart 64 Review mlb789
In the age of 3D gaming, there have been sequels to games that make the series that more awesome. This is one of those games. Mario Kart 64 brought a whole new 3D experience to Mario Kart that has only been duplicated in the most recent game, Mario Kart 7. In this game, there are two main modes for single player- Time Trial and the traditional Grand Prix. There are also modes for 2, 3, and 4 player games respectively, just adding to the amount of options you have while playing this game. You also have eight different characters to choose from, so you can beat each level 8 times if you just want to use a character once.
Graphics 5: I never liked the N64 graphics even though they are in 3D. This game does not measure up to some of the best games on the system, but definitely is not the worst graphics on the system either. One thing I really don't like is the look of the characters, though. It seems that all the characters on all the Mario N64 games aren't that good.
Sound 7: The sounds in this game are okay for a while, but it didn't take me a long time to go crazy over the kart sounds. For example, I hate the engine running sound because it is so dull and doesn't really sound like a real engine at all. A good thing about the sounds is how they actually did incorporate sounds the karts make, such as spinning out when you hit a banana, etc.
Addictiveness 9: This game was extremely fun to play, but it didn't grab me as much as Mario Kart 7, probably because the game is older than MK7. However, I lost hours in this game at a time while playing and almost never put the game down if I wasn't forced to put it down.
Story : Yeah.... No.
Depth 10: This game has so much in it that it will take you forever to beat. There are 2 game modes in single player that encourage you to either beat 7 COMs or beat COMs and yourself in speed races. Then, there are multiplayer modes where you can play with 2-4 people, which just adds to how much is in this game.
Difficulty 5: This was one of the hardest Mario Karts I have played in a while, which is a good thing because they had frankly been to easy for me to play by myself. The COMs seem to actually try in these games unlike previous games, where you can just assault the A button to achieve victory. You also have to navigate the courses more carefully because there are little traps everywhere that can trip you up.
Overall 7.2: This game is a very good game for the N64, and revolutionized the Mario Kart series. I would recommend this game to anyone who has played a later Mario Kart game or wants to start playing the series, because the first Mario Kart is pretty hard to understand.

A fun way to pass the time. rb1295
Mario Karts is a rather simple game without a story, but it is entertaining nonetheless. Whether you like to playing racing games, Mario games, or other games, Mario Karts offers you an entertaining experience. This experience is one that can either be enjoyed by an individual, or by multiple people. With the addition of different modes for different amounts of player, the possibilities for enjoyment are all the greater. The graphics for this game are pretty good. Each character has a unique look that help one know that they are playing a Mario game. The large variety of different animations, there are always different things that a player can see and enjoy. While the graphics can use some adjustments, overall they are very distinct and enjoyable. There are a variety of sounds used through the game, some of which are fitting for what they are, and other don't fit so well. The background music is well designed for what you are doing at the time. Even though the background music is fitting, some of the sound effects used don't seem to fit very well. Some of the sounds just seem strange at first, but later one they start to fit in better, but for some this isn't the case. While playing this game, at first it is easy to get addicted to it, with just how the game is designed, it becomes easy to continue to play for hours straight. After playing this game for multiple hours, it starts to get less addictive, but this doesn't change how entertaining it is to play the game. For Mario Karts, it wouldn't be very hard to add in a story mode, but without one it is still just as entertaining. Having a lack of a story in this case actually adds to the game and allows people to enjoy a much more casual game play. There are a few different parts to the game, such as the normal mode and some mini games. The normal form of game play allows for the player to casually enjoy a simple and relaxing game for players of different ages. The few different mini games allow for the players to enjoy a change from the normal game play and enjoy a slightly more difficult, but still rather simple.Learning how to play is a rather simple task. With its simple controls that don't change, more people would be able to find entertainment in playing. Once someone learns how to play, it become easy for them to become addicted and be entertained for multiple hours. For a simple game, that can help someone pass a couple hours, Mario Karts is a great choice. By allowing the players to have casual game play, with a few different ways to play, the players don't have to worry about needing to find something else to do while staying entertained. Mario Karts is a game that one can either play by themselves, or with others, with this, people don't have to worry about getting bored of playing games alone.

The best racing game for Nintendo 64 out there thing1
In my opinion, this is one of the best racing games out there for Nintendo 64, ever.Alright... let us begin the evaluation of the game. For Graphics, I am going to give this game a compete ten (10). I am giving this game a ten in graphics because for the time that game was made and released, it is very well done. The texture of the characters is done very well for a game that was made in the mid the late 90's, and very inept to. The tracks are very well done. However, the backgrounds might not be the best, but with how good the graphics are, the backgrounds graphics is canceled out...That is my reasoning for giving graphics a 10.I am going to give the sound a nine (9). I am giving the sound a solid and very respectable nine because even though the music during the races are repetitive beats, they are still catchy. The back round music on the title screen is fairly decent. And the sounds for all the weapons and when you hit people, get squashed, so on and so forth... it just amazes me. The sound quality is real good too, but I touch more on that when I get to Overall and depth. That is why I am giving this game a 9 for sounds.I am going to give this game a very impressive ten (10) for addictiveness. I gave my Nintendo 64 away years ago... to a friend who was collecting games, but had no console to play them on. I had just gotten a Play Station 2, so i gladly gave it to him. I instantly regretted it, because I could no longer play Mario kart 64. He told me I could come over and play with him when ever. That is how addictive that game is... I wanted my Nintendo 64 back just so I could play this game. I used every character, on every track, and was always begging family and friends to play with me so I could have some new competition. I probably beat the game entirely and deleted my data, only to repeat the process over maybe some twenty times a year for almost four years. I knew everything there was to know about that game. It was the most addicting game I have ever played for Nintendo 64.That is why I am giving this game a huge 10 for addictiveness.I am going to give this game a seven (7) in Story. I am giving it just a seven because there really is not much of a story line, other than, beat this Grand Pre to do the next one. However, it was pretty fun to switch around a lot, so I am giving it a seven because it was fun enough to play over and over again.I am going to give this game a seven (7) in Depth. This game has a good bit oftracks... not as much as others, but still a good bit for a Mario Racing game in the 90's for the Nintendo 64. I9.1 know all the tricks to each track, and it took awhile to learn them. But still, the depth is not perfect, and it is not mediocre either. That game offers a decent bit of tracks, but it could use a few more characters, like Mario kart Wii has. Not as many, but maybe 2 or 4 more would be fine. It just does not have a lot of characters. The tracks have decent depth, because once you get far enough along in the game, you get to do them backwardsThat is why I am giving this game a seven (7) in depth.I am going to give this game a seven (7) in difficulty. The reason for this being is the weapons that you get to use. They really complicate things. And then some tracks have... obstacles, to say in the simplest of term. Is can be a bother on some tracks, on others, it can really help. And then there are a few short cuts in a couple of tracks. The game itself is not difficult. It the characters that you choose to use on each track that makes the game difficult. That is why I am giving this game a 7 in difficulty.Alright... now it is time for my final and overall judgement of the game.... *drum roll please... lol*IT GETS A NINE POINT ONE (9.1)!!! The reason for this being, as mentioned before, it is my favorite Nintendo 64 game of all time. I played this games for hours on end, trying to break my own records, learning new tricks. With everything combined all together, this is one phenomenal game. A definite must play ALL THE WAY THROUGH if you are a Mario Fan, Mario Kart Fan, Racing Fan, or Nintendo 64 fan.

Mario Kart 64 bbryan217
I love Mario Kart 64. It is one of my favorite Nintendo games and it is so addicting. The race tracks are pretty simple, even in the Special cup, once you get the hang of it. I love the music that is used for each track. My favorite track would have to be Wario's Stadium because the music kind of gives me the thrill of the race and I like knock the other characters back when they try to go on that big jump near the finish line. I love playing characters like Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, etc. My favorite character is Toad because he is kind of the underdog of the group and I am too with my friends and his race car is my favorite color. The items are pretty cool and funny, for example, when a turtle shell hits Luigi, the sound he makes is kind of funny. There is no real story except when you get a gold on all tracks on 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc, you unlock Extra mode, which is when the tracks are kinda switched. It gets kind of hard especially on Toad's Turnpike because you have to dodge the traffic coming toward you but you soon get the hang of it. Overall, this game is awesome and I rate it a 10.

MARIO KART 64! Zidoa
This game is hands down the most amazing racing game made for Nintendo 64. Mario kart has been duplicated and duplicated but this is still the best one. I can remember growing up playing this game with everybody, Brothers, Friends, Neighbors, even my mom got down on some Mario kart. The tracks have unique twists and turns and all sorts of entertaining backgrounds and weapons to unleash on your opponents. The competitive battle racing style made this game more and more fun every time you play it, no 2 races are exactly the same. 8 racers and 16 different tracks make this game less monotonous and more towards entertaining and different.

An amazing game linksfollower
Mario Kart has always been one of my personal favorites when it came to the n64. The characters and wacky tracks in the game were amazing and kept me from quitting for hours. Seriously, this game was that addicting. Just looking back, I'm still laughing about how I'd race to the front, get a banana and then slow down enough just to hit whoever was behind me just so I could leave in the dust again! Single player in Mario Kart is fun, but multiplayer is where it truly shines. It makes those moments of hatred have towards your friends and family and continually reels you in. I'd recommend this game to any avid gamers.

Mario Kart 64 is a really fun game to play with your friends. Although it is one of the hardest Mario Kart games, it is still fun to play. Has many items to turn the game around! One moment you're in first, heading toward the finish, the next moment you get 5th place. It has a ton of different courses, 4 game modes, 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and mirror and has 8 characters.
Mario Kart 64 is a great racing game. The Mario Kart series is one of the best racing series there is. I recommend this game to anyone who likes racing and a challenge during the race.

Mario + Kart = Great Game Austin Winter
Mario Kart 64, Let's do this.
I have always loved the Mario series, whether it be the damsel in distress story line, or the fast paced run-n-jump mechanics. This although, is no ordinary Mario game. Mario Kart combines a racing game, with the Mario universe. Mario Kart introduces an item system in which you can throw hysterical items at your opponents to keep them off your tail. The higher place you are in the race, the less invigorating items you will receive. But if you fall behind, you can acquire a super powerful item that helps you take back your rightful place in 1st!
The graphics on this game are phenomenal. Along side with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, this is one of the few N64 games with a take on 3 dimensional worlds. The kart sounds and visuals feel realistic, to the point of tires screeching on hot asphalt and black smoke rising from beneath your wheels. The stages are pulled straight from other Mario games, with their own twist, along with enemies that serve as obstacles. I praise this game for the extreme fun that comes out of these tracks. Rainbow Road, Bowser's Castle, all give an ambient feel that makes the player feel excitement and a rush of adrenaline when trying to pass 1st place.
I could LITERALLY play this game all day, and sometimes I do. Out of all the Mario Kart games, this one is my 3rd favorite, right there next to Mario Kart 7 for 3DS and Mario Kart Wii. This may be an older and outdated game, but it holds up next to other great titles. I highly suggest firing up the ol' emulator and giving this game a run. The future Mario Kart games are improvements upon this one, (better graphics, more powerful tracks, more character options) but this game is fun nonetheless.
While this game doesn't have much story (as it is a racing game), the depth is amazing. While that may not make a ton of sense, allow me to explain. The story is practically non-existent, but the stages and tracks are immersive and addictive! You might just find yourself playing the same track over and over again for the experiences. For example, rainbow road. If there was ever a more fast paced and highly endangering stage, it must be unused content because rainbow road is the definition of epic. You will find yourself riding a rainbow track, while hitting boost plates that speed you up massively. The risk of falling off the rainbow is great, which is why you have to go slow, yet keep up the pace. This track is a perfect example of the potential Mario Kart withholds.
The game isn't very difficult, unless you bump it up yourself a bit. Character size (believe it or not) actually makes a difference. Characters like Wario or Bowser can push the smaller characters around, like Mario and Luigi. While bigger can be better, smaller is more agile. You will find better handling on smaller characters, along with acceleration and speed.
Overall, Mario Kart 64 is a 9.7 in my book. I can barely think of a con for this game. Possibly, they could have buffed the car handling overall, but skidding, (a mechanic in which you can DRASTICALLY change your kart's direction with major speed) allows you to cut corners and turns on the tracks. So honestly, all my complaints are put down by another mechanic. As I previously stated, this game holds up for its time. I still play to this day, and I honestly love Luigi. I highly recommend this game for any Mario lover, or racer lover. You will find the humorous take on a racing game adds an addictive factor. Run this emulator and enjoy yourself for what I praise to be one of the greatest games on the N64.

Mario Kart 64 Review
By: Skittlez
I remember playing this as a kid. I found it here and figured why not play it again. I have played the more recent titles as well and I look forward to being able to play the new one on the WiiU. Anyways on to the review :)
Graphics: Rated 9
I know, I know. Any kid that is used to the newer generation consoles is going "You call this good graphics?" but hear me out. For its time Mario Kart 64 had pretty great graphics. We finally got to play Mario Kart in 3D (if you don't know what I mean by that then go play the original Mario kart). I give the graphics a 9 because they were pretty awesome for their time, and still are pretty awesome in my opinion.
Sound: Rated 9
I gave the sound a 9 because the music was kind of catchy. Plus it changed for each race track which is always interesting.
Addictiveness: Rated 8
I only gave it an 8 for Addictiveness because to me it was one of those games that I loved playing but after beating all the races and such I just got bored with it. Its a great game to come back and play from time to time but its not one that kept me playing for long.
Story: Not Rated
I simply left the story blank because Mario Kart didn't really have a story in my opinion.
Depth: Rated 8
I rated depth an 8 because of the many races and mini games there is to enjoy. It wasn't rated higher because it usually (at least in my case) doesn't take long to beat all the game has to offer.
Difficulty: Rated 7
I didn't rate the difficulty to high because its never been all that difficult until you start to up the difficulty a bit. Then it can get some what challenging.
Overall: Rated 9
It is a fun game to play. I remember many, many hours spent playing with family members. Getting hit with red turtle shells or the awful blue turtle shell. Many laughs and fond memories go into the overall rating of this game. I hope you guys and gals get just as much enjoyment out of it as my family and I did. Overall I would say its a game you should try at least once, especially if you have played other Mario Kart titles.

MY MARIO KART REVIEW (MAGMA_CUBE) Magma_Cube
MARIO KART REVIEW-
After including Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the next Nintendo game is now on the App Store With Mario Kart Tour you choose a character and a Kart, and race on colorful tracks towards the finish line.If you expect you can just play Mario Kart with your favorite characters, you'll come from a cold carnival at home.Mario Kart Tour is but for a small part that game of yesteryear.Largely, it's a gacha game that determines what you unlock. The in-app purchases sway you like bananas and shields around the ears.
hahaha I'm russian isn't it funny man isn't it very funny although MKT - baby compared to Fire Emblem Heroes (the other Nintendo Gacha game) is more focused on skill, there is still a lot of chance to watch. However good you drive, you can start little against multiple targeted items from your opponents.Yet the game is just a lot of fun to play. The races are short, but even with only two rounds a lot can happen. You can also get better by getting to know the jobs, to know exactly where the shortcuts are and how to take tricky curves.
But the in-app purchases are always lurking. The most important are the characters, karts and paragliders that you can shoot from a pipe. For five rubies You can use the pipe once. These rubies earn you by playing, but you can also buy.Ten rubies cost 6.99 euros. Since the character that shoots out of the pipe is random, you never know if you're getting your favorite. There is also a shop where you can buy a few items with tokens daily. These coins also earn you by playing, but you can also buy them with rubies. With varying daily items and temporary offers, Nintendo puts extra pressure on it to spend money.
And then there is also the Gold Pass, a subscription for more rewards and a pile of rubies. The costs 5.49 euros per month. The most disappointing thing is that you need the Gold Pass to be able to play the fastest mode. These 200cc races offer the biggest challenge, but are hidden behind a subscription. That Gold Pass costs more than a subscription for Apple Arcade makes it extra acidic.
STORY-
The tale of this fantastic game is about our favourite Mario characters grinding the street in a unique Mario Kart match. In exciting phases, the gang has to race in go-karts to win a prize to bring back. (Or praise Peach in Mario 64) This is basically the whole story like any other games in Mario Kart. These characters are going to move their tires in 16 unique missions and you have to beat them on it.
DEPTH-
This game as stated, awesome, offers loads of unique necessities. To begin here, we have catalysts that will help you on your mission (or race) to get the gold. We have the banana strip. Whenever set, it will remain on the race track. On the off chance that somebody crashes into it, they will back off, and furthermore twirl around in their go-kart. Now...the green shell. First appearance was Super Mario Brothers, clearly. Whenever utilized, it will go flying out and about. On the off chance that it figures out how to hit someone's go-kart, a similar impact from the banana will come to them. The red shell is equivalent to the green shell, however in case you're in a specific range behind somebody, empowered, it will target them and hit them. The spiked and dangerous blue shell will hit whoever is in the lead position. It can unintentionally help the player in runner up, however you can get up to speed. The An I for the CPUs aren't that great in this game. The power star will give you immunity temporarily. In the event that you contact a player's go-kart...same impact from the banana strip. You can likewise experience vehicles in Frog's Road in the Bloom Cup. The triple banana/red shell/green shell gives you three of said thing. The phony thing box resembles a standard thing box. In the event that touched...SAME impact as said. Should you need to effortlessly deceive a CPU, place the phony thing enclose any fix of genuine thing boxes...or some way or another get five phony ones out of a column, and square the street with them. Presently on to the playable characters. Our preferred stars, Mario, Luigi, Amphibian, Peach, Yoshi, DK, Bowser, Wario, and Yoshi. The 16 courses in this game are entirely special, on the off chance that I do say so myself. They are: Luigi's Raceway, Moo Homestead, Koopa Troopa Sea shore, and Kalimari Desert in the Mushroom Cup. In the consuming Bloom Cup, we have Amphibian's Interstate, Frappe Snowland, Choco Mountain, and Mario's Raceway. In the Star Cup of truth, we have Wario Arena, Sherbet Land, Illustrious Raceway, and Bowser's Château. In the adored Extraordinary Cup, we have DK's Wilderness Turnpike, Yoshi Valley, Banshee Footpath, and the course we as a whole know and love...Rainbow Street.
DIFFICULTY-
This game's difficulty is very challenging. I had to play each level around 4 times at the start, but later on it catches. Overall this demands a 10 from me, as the game starts off at hard difficult but leans towards my personal preference later on. ood morning idolos ❤ Also I think that the more time you spend on this game, the less difficult it gets. In the event that touched....Same impact as you.
I personally think this game is in the ideal difficulty level, I cannot lie.
GRAPHICS-
Nine years on, Super Mario indeed does have great graphics. It has graphics and s**t, while we're at it, it have cats! What it should mostly brag about having to have is, very though, is a sublime silly streak. It's a bouncing playground filled with sights and delights, even if its being hit by a super mario bowser shell, a lightning bolt or a GTA County tier mobster, or breaking into other minekartws. With a staggering amount to see and do, wrapped in in Nintendo's trademark cultural satire, I, or shall I say, we strongly recommended it then and we- (yes) strongly recommend it now.
ADDICTION-
F!!!!K addiction man.. The game setup and feel is very much like its predecessor, only this time everything looks a whole lot better, with tracks going up and down hills and through tunnels and buildings. Top Rebel Shotgun is also a great game to play, check it out soon!
COME BACK SOON FOR ME TO DROP TWO MORE REVIEWS I HAVE THEM ALREADY DONE!

Best mario kart iluvkiwibirds
I own this game in real life, and I have to say that it is a very balanced racing game. I do not play many racing games, but this is one of the best I've played. There is no story, it is just racing goodness. I always play as bowser, and have no problem playing the game. The music is not memorable at all, and the engine sound becomes very grating to your ears after playing for a long time. The stages are all memorable, however they are all basic courses. Overall it is a decent racing game for the Nintendo 64.

Mario Karting's first drift into 3D Uzar
There are good games, then there are great games. All things considered,
Mario Kart 64 is a great game in my opinion. It hasn't aged quite as
well as I hoped, but it's still a solid game on it's own. It's a
fantastic second ride through the Mushroom Kingdom. So strap in, because
this is gonna be a fast ride!
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are fantastic!...As far as the Nintendo 64 is
concerned. As for today's standards, it's sub-par. But graphics aren't
everything in a game. This is the second Mario Kart ever made. And the
first one probably broke the SNES if you played it for too long.
But, being the first for Nintendo's first 3D game system, it was
revolutionary. It's great for 64's standards. And it gets you in the
mood for some classic Mario gaming.
Sound: 9/10
The sound is actually REALLY good, by both the N64, and today's
standards. The first thing you hesar when you turn the game on is our
favorite man in a red suit(Mario) yell "Welcome to Mario Kart!" It may
catch you off guard, but it just shows you that
THEYGOTVOICESOMYGOODNESS, it was...More exciting in those days. But,
yeah, the voices for the characters are pretty good actually. Not just
Mario, but everyone. And the background music...The background music for
those levels are still some of my favorites period. It's well crafted,
and fits each level perfectly. Okay, maybe DK's Jungle Parkway is a bit
too ambient, but that just gets you thinking of the underwater levels of
DK Country if you think too hard.
Story: 0/10
Story? Pffft! Who needs that? Am I right? This game is so edgy that
it took the story and THREW IT AND MADE WARIO SPIN OFF THE
RACETRACK!!!!!!!!!!
Depth: 2/10
There isn't much depth to this game. You only got your 8 characters,
your default pipe karts, and 16 courses to race through. Although there
is a Mirror Mode if you do well enough in the Grand Prix's. But that's
it in terms of depth.
Difficulty: 5/10
Mario Kart is a cruel mistress, even back in the N64. And the AI is
no slacker either. You're in for a challenge if you go into 150 cc mode.
But honestly, what Mario Kart isn't like that? It's set the bar for AI
patterns to come! Cruel AI, or just bad luck will hinder you. But, you
may get a lucky break! Maybe you'll rip through the competition! YOU!
CAN! DO! IT!
The only thing that really makes this stand out from the other games
is, all the characters still have different stats. But you can't see
what's different. Like, Mario and Luigi are balanced, Toad, Yoshi, and
Peach are light with good acceleration, and Bowser, Wario, and Donkey
Kong are heavyweights, who can make lightweights spin out by bumping
into them. But what can you do to hold back this onslaught?! Well,
nothing you haven't done before, really. Well, you can take advantage of
the Banana Bunch, and tote not three, but FIVE Banana Peels behind you!
Muahaha!
All in all, it's a pretty fun game. It's worth at least a try. You actually can play it here on Vizzed!

Mario Kart 64 may be the best racing game on the N64 ever! duckman2003
MARIO KART 64!!!!!
Oh boy... what can I say about this game... This game is better then eating chocolate and candy combined... This game is better then finding a 10$ bill and spending it on chocolate and candy and chips... Combined... This game is better then Every N64 game ever..... (with the exception of ocarina of time and SM64, of course!!!)... Combined...
You see, every racing-themed N64 game has at least 1 good thing about them. MK 64 has nearly all of them. Good graphics, Awesome Controls, and great track design. WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, I SHALL START THE REVIEW!!!!!!
GRAPHICS...............8/10
The graphics are great... The unique style of the different tracks are well done, the character
select screen's icons are very fluid and high res. the animation in general is very slick in general... However, there are 2 problems, one is the racers are flat and low res. I mean, the characters and every thing else besides the track itself is flat and blurry. it feels awkward at times. Two, the wario statium's dirt track looks ugly. I'm gonna give this an 8 out of 10.
SOUND/MUSIC......9/10
I loved The music. It is catchy and memorable, the songs are recognisable

Probally the best kart racer for the Nintendo 64! RedHotToddy
Super Mario kart for the super Nintendo is what started it all for the amazing and fun Mario kart games, The series has made it's way on almost every Nintendo console ever made, And Mario kart 8 for the Wii U is coming up in 2014, so what better way to celebrate then review the first ever Mario kart game in next Gen? The game We are looking at right now Is Mario kart 64 for the Nintendo 64.
Story-N/A
Why would there be an actual plot to this kart racer? Anyways, Lets get on to the action shall we?
Gameplay-8/10
Mario kart 64 is your average kart racer, And It is quite fun! Like in all other Mario kart games, You pick one of Mario and his friends, and you race against 7 other racers in ar ace to the ugly finish. You can now see why Many other game companies have been trying to cash in on Mario kart's success! But better yet, Along the way you will be using a bunch of weapons in each race to stop your opponents from reaching the finish before you do, These weapons include Mushrooms, which will give you a burst of speed, Koopa shells, which ca be used to knock out your opponents, etc. There are 3 game modes in total, Mario GP, which has you racing through a tournament of 4 big tracks in order to become the champion, Time trial which lets you race on a track by yourself to finish in the fastest time possible, And quick race, which lets you race on any track for fun. Well I guess that is it for the gameplay.
Graphics-9/10
I will be honest, for 1996, this game looked pretty nice years ago, And It still looks pretty good today! All the race tracks you will be racing through and exploring are big, beautiful, and bursting with color, As for the characters, they are pretty recognizable as well, Mario is red, Luigi is green, yoshi is green, peach is pink, wario is yellow, and so on. I say this game didn't look as good as all the other N64 games at the time, But it still did ok!
Sound-8/10
This is probably my favorite part of the whole game, The soundtrack. All of the songs that you will be hearing in the game always seem to fit the mood of each of the levels you will be racing on, Mostly the farm level, the circuit levels, and the bowser's castle levels. As for the sound effects, they are hardly noticeable at times, But they are there, the sound effect that I heard the most throughout the game would have to be the sound whenever you get an item box! You also get character vocals through each races and those are pretty slick as well. Good use of Charles martinet's talent!
Addictiveness-8/10
I will admit, I had alot of fun with this game! I remember playing multplayer with my friends all the time back when I was little, And I still do it today! Is this a game I am ever going to play again? Of course, why wouldn't I? There are alot of other worse games on the N64 that I could shelf within a day, But not this one!
Depth-9/10
Mario kart is a no brainer for alot of replay value in the series, And this is not an exception! One of the main reasons why I come back to the Mario kart titles is because the insane amount of Multiplayer! I have had so much fun playing with all of my good friends who love a good multiplayer game. This is one of those games that will last you a long time because How much It offers for you. I don't see any reason to hate this game!
Difficulty-6/10
Mario kart is also one of those games that should never really give you too much trouble, Unless your playing on the higher difficulty levels, 100cc and 150cc. Those 2 modes do not kid around! I was still able to beat those 2 modes without any much trouble though. But I still do like a good challenge!
Overall-8.5/10
Buy this game! It is without a doubt one of the greatest kart racers you can get on the Nintendo 64 today! Sure there are a bunch of other ones on the shelf, But this one IS the way to go. I gave this game a 8.5 because how much fun and replay value it offers for you to do. Anyways, this has been your favorite reviewer RedHotToddy, And I am signing off!

Awesome! acool193
This Is The Sequel to Super Mario Kart on The Super Nintendo with lots of good improvements!
Mario Kart 64 was released in 1997 on the Nintendo 64!
Story: 0 Like Super Mario Kart and All The Other Mario Kart Games, it had no story line.
Difficulty: 5 Mario Kart 64 has very easy controls to learn unlike Super Mario Kart. But Some Tracks Like Yoshi Valley, and D.K.'s Jungle Parkway, It Is Very Hard To Stay On The Track.
Graphics: 10 For The Nintendo 64, The Graphics are Awesome unlike the pixelated Super Mario Kart. In This Game, the characters are very easy to see and the tracks look way better.
Depth: 5 The game is not TOO long if you are playing only one or two tracks, but if you are playing ALL the tracks, it is very long.
and some tracks like Rainbow Road, It is very long and takes about 10 minutes for three laps on the track.
Addictiveness: 10 This Game Is Very Addictive and is Way better than Super Mario Kart. It's also fun to play over and over again. Battle mode and other modes just makes it even more fun!
Power ups:
The spiny shell is the most powerful weapon. What this does is, when you shoot it it will automatically lock onto first place, while hitting everyone else in its way. It will be locked onto first place however, so it will hit others players if you are in its way.
A single green shell. If you hold the Z button then hold backwards and let go of the Z button it will be shoot backwards of the opponents behind you. Use it as protection from other players.
The 4 pack of bananas is a great weapon, because if you place them all along the road nearby water or space, it will be very difficult to dodge slipping them.
The red shell is my favorite among many as it can provide protection and when shot will target into the nearest kart.
The Mushroom will give your kart a very useful turbo boost.
With The Mushroom pack, you will get three mushrooms. The best places to use mushrooms are when you want to use a shortcut, but you need that bit more of speed also.
The Star gives you a temporary time of invincibility. Use the Star to run into other racers, cut across off-road terrain, or to drive straight through trees and other things.
Fake item blocks look identical to real question blocks but are upside-down. They have the same trailing and blocking capacities of the banana but are a bit wider.
It's also great on a sharp turn where your second player can't see.
The Turbo Boost Mushroom will give you unlimited boosts for a certain amount of time, which is great if you need to catch up to first place quickly.
And That Is Most of The Mario Kart 64 Power Ups!
Sound: 10 The Music That They Used Is Just Awesome and Rainbow Road's and Luigi Raceway's Themes are my favorite.
Overall Score: 9.6 The Game is just awesome, I can't sum it up better than that.

Mario Kart 64 review yoyogamr
Mario Kart 64 is the second of the Mario Kart series and also one of the best. This game is not only innovative for its time, but remains fun to this day.
Graphics:
The graphics in this game are just plain amazing! Some of the best from its time, for example, the character models are even better than in Super Mario 64! The graphics also provide a feeling of speed, which is extremely important in any racing game. 10/10
Sound:
Like the graphics, the quality is the best of the Nintendo 64. But the songs, while good, are not as catchy as from Super Mario 64, plus in Super Mario 64 the sound effects, like Mario's "yahoo!" when he jumped, always felt great, but in Mario Kart 64, the characters effects can get repetitive and even annoying, leaving it with a still amazing 9/10.
Addictiveness:
This game is definitely addictive! The tracks are just so much fun to play on. You really can play hours on end trying to perfect your time in Wario Stadium or Rainbow Road. The thing that makes Mario kart games so great is that you just want to play them over and over, and this game is tied with Mario Kart Wii as the best example of that! 10/10
depth:
Although this game is a lot of fun, the amount of content in the game isn't that high, it has 16 tracks, playable in grand prix or time trials, there is a versus and battle mode for multi-player, but overall, you'll be spending more time doing the grand prix mode anyways. 7/10
Overall this is a very fun addictive game that I highly recommend playing, this is in my opinion the best game in the Retro Game Room! If you like racers, you will love Mario Kart 64

N64 Mario Kart achyboy777
This is my review on the N64 Mario Kart
Graphics - 9/10
The graphics on this are great compared to most Nintendo 64 games. The characters are clear and the 3D effect from Super Mario 64 has been added into this game as well. Very impressed.
Sound - 10/10
Love it! The catchy tunes and happy sounds had me humming along every time. Very entertaining music. My first ever 10 in sound. Congratulations Mario Kart.
Addictiveness 6/10
I will admit, I did play this often however I did not come home everyday and immediately turn it on. Also after completing a lot of tournaments it did get quite boring doing the same thing over and over again.
Story - None
Depth - 5/10
Like all Mario Kart Games, there are the tournaments and the 50cc, 100cc, e.T.C. This does keep you entertained for quite a while but after completing it there is virtually nothing to do but do it over and over again.
Difficulty - 6/10
The karts are reasonably difficult to control when you first start out but after a while you will know all the courses, all the characters and all of the controls inside out. After a while you will be winning every race.
Despite some categories being marked low, I have given this game a 9.3 as I was really impressed by it considering it was an N64 game.
Anyway thanks for reading my sort review, please rate so I know if you liked it. Thanks for reading, from achyboy777

A great racing game.. Black Bot
It is time to speed up! Mario Kart 64 released on 1996 is a BIG hit! This game for the Nintendo 64 is a blast! You could go into lots of different courses, choose different characters, and.. RAINBOW ROAD! Be sure to read my ratings and stuff on the rest for this review!
Great music, Great everything! Read everything I got and you can finally be dismissed from this thread after being like stuck on this loving it! Be sure to rate this awesome piece of stuff as well! One of the most popular racing games in the world! This is in the top 10 for the best Nintendo 64 games! Yay! :D Yes, I have also completed the whole game.
Now to begin with the Overall rating and all of the other stuff you might have been waiting for!
Overall: 9.2
This game was amazing! This features 16 tracks and even Rainbow Road! Excellent Music and more! Keep Reading below for more stuff!
Graphics: 10
I wish there was a 11 choice or something. The graphics were just amazing. I can not explain it. WAY much better than the SNES Super Mario Kart. Instead of flat stuff, they made it like 3D platforming or something like that! So many pixels in this game and filled with fun unlike the SNES Super Mario Kart! You better play this game sometime!
This graphics was actually somehow way better than the GBA one somehow and much better and every one could tell easily! Compare them! But not better than the Mario Kart: Double Dash because that was released in 2003 and the N64 Mario Kart was released in like.. 1996 which was not fair. Very good as for the date and the time it was released.
Sound: 10
The sound was just amazing. Just like the graphics part. lol
This game has one of the best retro video game musics in the world, and this is probably my number 1. The Rainbow Road music? Just incredible. I highly recommend you look up that music and listen to it... NOW!
Yes, the N64 Rainbow Road is one of my favorite things to hear, and one of the worst things to play. lol
The other courses also has some great music, some cheerful, some ghostly, some something.
I also like the Koopa Beach music from this game. Quite impressive and good.
Addictiveness: 8 / 10
I rated this a quite good 8 but it could be a lot longer game and better. This game is quite short, and when you finish the game, sometimes you do not feel like playing this game anymore, or you just really want to move on to a different game, like Pokemon or something. Like me, I quit this game just a few weeks ago, before the Tour De Vizzed even started. Because I have already completed the game, and I have nothing else to do except improving my times in Time trials.
Story: Not really anything.
This game did not really have a story. Unless you are watching Mario Kart: The movie and it tells you some parts about it and how it started. I recommend you go watch it / and / or the trailer.
Depth: 7 / 10
This game has 16 tracks including the Mushroom cup, the Flower Cup, the Star Cup, and the special cup.
You can play the tracks on 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and Mirror Mode
50cc: The tracks are shorter and the CPU's are very easy to beat. This mode is highly recommended for beginners.
100cc: The tracks are at medium and the CPU's are at medium mode. This mode has shorter tracks than 150cc. It is recommended for not so bad gamers at this game.
150cc: This is regular. This mode is used for Time Trials as well. The CPU's are hard. This mode is recommended for experts.
Mirror mode: A unlockable. The courses are switched around and is the same size as 150cc! This is recommended for Hard gamers and experts! Good luck not crashing into the middle of the walls! xD
Now to get on topic.. This has 4 different modes for Grand Prix, Time Trials with 16 different courses, and more! This game also includes Multiplayer, and can use Netplay on it! Well, That is pretty much it for that..
Oh wait! I forgot to list the courses!
- Luigi Raceway
- Moo Moo Farm
- Rainbow Road
- Choco Island or whatever it is called
Difficulty: 7 / 10
This game was not that hard at all. I guess it was a little hard for me in the beginning, but I bet everybody reading this knows that it will be easy when you get used to it which will be like very quickly. 50cc = Short courses and the CPU's are actually very easy to beat.
100cc = Usually for normal players and it is quite at a normal difficulty but shorter courses than 150cc.
150cc = Long courses with hard CPU's. Meant for experts and pros at the game.
Mirror = This is 150cc, but Left is Right and Right is left! Better Watch out! xD
But If you beat all the cups on all of them, I would not be surprised and you are a master at Mario Kart 64! Congrats!
Not really that difficult. I just wish it WAS a little harder and the CPU's use the items in the right place next time.
Something like 200cc might sound good. Does it?
Now.. Thank you EVERYONE for reading my awesome review! Be sure to rate it and look forward to reading more of my reviews!

Super Mario Kart: Road Rage Review Fireproof
Super Mario Kart for the Nintendo 64 is among one of the best racing games I ever played. The game is very competitive, enjoyable, exciting and fun to play. This game offers a cool selection of characters of the Mario world and with each character comes race tracks like Bowser's Castle, Mario's Raceway and plenty more. This is a game that anyone of any age can enjoy.
The StoryUnfortunately, there is no story to this game. It's all about the racing.
The GraphicsBack when this game first came out you were always excited to see what could be offered from a new game like this one. You never realize just how much more realistic graphics would become years down the line. As for Mario Kart of the Nintendo 64, they were among the best in graphics for the console. I must say that the only thing I disliked about the graphics was the ship sailing around on Donkey Kong's track did not let you land on it. I tried so hard to land on that ship and when I did, I was absolutely disappointed. Of course, there was no real reason to land on it, but I thought it would be cool.
+2.5 - Most tracks had something to do with one of the characters. I thought this absolutely cool and it made me want to play certain tracks even more than the other ones.
+2.5 - I loved the design for the items. When I saw the Lightning bolt and the Blue Spiked Shell I thought that they were absolutely cool. I was already expecting the Star to be how it was. (I never did play Mario Kart on the older consoles)
+2 - The different tracks were pretty neat. I thought that Bowser's Castle was probably the most creative track in the game. It offered lava and some of Bowser's minions were there. It was just really cool and perfectly designed.
+2 - The concept of the tracks was pretty neat. I liked the scenery of the different tracks and with the way some of the tracks were built was pretty cool. You could even visit Peach's Castle. I know I would also ride on over to the castle and try to break the door down thinking I could get inside and play Super Mario 64. It was definitely a splendid idea and concept.
+1.5 - I loved the simple designs for the battle mode. These tracks were absolutely awesome and made Battle mode worth playing. Unfortunately, Battle Mode was pretty bare and empty in terms of graphics. Good colors but it really didn't have much more to show for creativity..

10The SoundIn this game there is some pretty new music. You don't have the regular Mario music from the other Mario games incorporated here, which was something that I kind of expected. You do have the Mario sounds where each character sounds like themselves. I never really cared for the music in some of the levels though. Mario always had something that would stick in your head and this game did disappoint me a little with it. I thought that some songs were cool but there was just nothing that really stood out.
+2.5 - I loved that each of the characters had their appropriate voices. This helped me recognize if another character was passing me or if they were hit by something while racing, especially if I knew that they were one of the characters that were scoring right below me.
+1.5 I liked some of the music but I never really got into it. There wasn't anything that would really stick into my head
+1 - I was really disappointed that I didn't get to listen to songs from the other Mario games but I did like that there was new music to listen to even if I didn't particularly care for it.
+1 - I did like some of the sound effects for some of the items. The Star, of course, was expected to be exactly how it was and other items sounded cool as well.
----------------------------
6The DepthAs far as I know, this Mario Kart is the second in the Mario Kart series where the different features weren't really built up and put to full use. There definitely could have been more added to the game to make it more in depth but Super Mario Kart 64 did offer a couple things you could do that would appeal to all ages. The only thing that disappointed me with the depth of the game was the actual number of things you can do. Normally, having so many different things really makes you addicted to the game and takes longer to make you bored of it but Mario Kart didn't have too much. I liked what Mario Kart 64 offered but a little more would not hurt.+2 - Battle Mode is my absolute favorite part of any of the Mario Kart games. In the 64 version of Mario Kart I would always battle with the 3 balloons and try to play against my family or friends. It was a lot of fun to do silly things and it is a lot of fun to dominate other people.+2 - Multiplayer is probably the best feature any game can have. It helps create competition and it really keeps people on the game and playing.+1.5 - I liked that when you played the game you were able to play different CC which was like the easy, normal and hard mode in some ways. Even mirror mode was a lot of fun and became pretty challenging.+1.5 - I liked that you had a variety in your different tracks but for the most part, the tracks were pretty basic. Some tracks offered more than others but there just wasn't enough elements to racing around in a circle.+1.5 - Items are great in a game like this. Most other racing games don't give you items when you're playing the game. In a lot of ways this makes Mario Kart unique which always adds a little excitement to your game.+.5 - Time trial were cool but it was never anything that I could really get into. This was rather boring to me because I was more of a compete with everyone else kind of guy. Competition makes the world go round.---------------------------9The DifficultyUnfortunately for younger children, this game could be a little challenging for you when you have progressed to the higher difficulty cups in the game. Playing at the end of Special cup on 150CC or Mirror Cup could be quite a challenge and at times it was quite frustrating to me. You're competing against the A.I. at the top of their game and silly things like getting knocked off the course once can set you back a great deal. +2 - I felt that the difficulty was pretty close to perfect for where it should be when playing against the A.I.+1.5 - I liked that the game was challenging but there were times that I could not catch up to the A.I. in first place when I should have. Getting knocked back is quite a task to compete with especially when it's difficult to dodge someone with a star and they're running into you from behind.+1.5 - Items did not always land in your favor.. When you needed certain items, you never got them. Unfortunately, I'd end up with a banana when I need a red shell or I'd have a blue spiked shell and end up in first place. My luck with items was never all that great.+1.5 - I liked that the items made the game a little more difficult. It helped to keep the first place player from getting too far ahead and helped balance the players who fell behind by giving them the more powerful items that helped them catch up.+1.5 - Unfortunately, the A.I. only ever targeted me when I was in 1st or 2nd place but they'd never target the other A.I. It seemed like I was their number 1 target in most cases so I felt the brunt of most attacks.---------------------------8 - Likeness 8 - Actual DifficultyThe AddictivenessI
can see this game can become somewhat addicting but I can't see this
game becoming too addictive. The most addicting aspect is probably the
multiplayer and playing against friends but as for the rest of it, once
you beat it there's much else you can do except time trial. In a game
like this it felt limited and I never really played it again after
beating it. (Sometime after I did get into Mario Kart: Double Dash). I was very disappointed in the fact that this game was never all that addicting to me. I spent more of my time playing the Super Nintendo than I did playing this game/+2 - I loved being able to compete against friends. This kept me playing
the game a lot when I had friends over but when I played alone, I wasn't
playing this game.+2 - When you do play alone you keep playing until you've fully won every track and claimed gold for each level of Grand Prix.+2 - Battle Mode gets it's own section because I loved it. This was 75% of
my reason for playing Mario Kart and it wasn't necessarily to play the
Versus Mode.+1 - Between the graphics and sound, they do appeal to playing the game and help make the game more addictive.-.5 - Time Trial mode might help you become better at the
game but there's no good in it after you've beat the game.
Unfortunately you don't unlock anything.---------------------------6OverallPersonally, I think that Super Mario Kart for
the Nintendo 64 was a good game. My only real issues with it is that it
felt limited and could have used more. The game offered enough things to
do to keep you entertained for awhile but after you've played and beat
it, it would only become boring and you would lose your attention on the
game. I think that if the game did have more it could have been a great
game. Unfortunately, the Nintendo 64 didn't have an internet connection
but if it did it could have become an extremely popular competition
between players. I would have liked to see it with 8 people playing too. There were a few things that I disliked about this game. The one thing I disliked the most about this game was the fact that Star Road was colorful but it just seemed like it was exactly the same all the way through it. I understand that the game has graphics from the Nintendo 64 era but compared to the Star Roads of today's Mario Karts you have much more creativity. It's like they threw it together as the last stage and it really didn't feel like the Star Road of the Mario Karts of today. Aside from this little set back, it was still a very good game and it is definitely worth playing. It's also cool to reflect on this game to see the progress that has been made over the years.--------------------------8

my 1st game my 1st race my 1st mario sonnicfan
mario kart 64 was my first game and a good one at that. the graphics i gave a 8 becose of the good maps and items design the characters however needs more work and side-note how did bowser lose 500 pounds to fit in a car. the sound was a 7 because the musics good not great but good and it has great voice clips for each charicter. the addicivness i gave a 9 since you may get bourd with this game but you still get sucked into it constantly. the story/lack of story is a 1 becose there is no story or 0 rateing. difficulty i made a 3 because its simple to learn the controls and its not rage inducing untill 150cc races are in use. depth i made a 7 theres only 1 unlockabol but you start with 8 racers 4 cups with 16 tracks in toltol and 3 difficultys plus up to 4 player modes. overall its a 9.1 it was a great mario game and a good raceing game as well as my 1st game i do have a question through why dont enemys throw shells all they use is ¿ blocks and banannas.
