Harry Potter Collection FireWrath
Harry Potter: An 11 year old boy lives with his cruel Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin when one day he finds out that he is a wizard. Since he is a wizard, he is invited to join the top school for wizards and witches; Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During those 7 years, Harry must fight against the evil Lord Voldermort, the very man who killed his parents when he was one year old. This game covers the first three games, each one covering one of his first three years (for the Gameboy Advance.) Since this collection is actually 3 games I will divide the review into three.
Graphics: 8
As I have not played many Gameboy Advance Games, I am basing this on the Nintendo handhelds. The graphics are less grainy than the Gameboy/Gameboy Color, and are not too bad compared to the DS Series.
Sound: 5
This is at average because that is what it sounds like to me. Please note that it may be better on different speakers or the actual game. The sound is not as good as with other games in the early Nintendo handhelds, but for Harry Potter games, it did very well.
Depth: 3
It's low because there just aren't that many side-quests or secret areas A few are placed in the games but almost as a last thought. For depth I'd recommend the Gameboy/ Gameboy Color games as they have more extras. As a side note, if you actually have this game outside of an emulator, it can hook up to your Game Cube so you can unlock some new content.
Addictiveness: 10
Harry Potter with more to do in some cases than the Computer Games were. It is enjoyable to me and the fact that it is 3 games in one adds to the addictiveness.
Story: 9
All three games took very little liberties in regards to the books. Thus, the story explodes.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's in America) Stone:
Harry's first year is spent trying to learn how to fit into the wizarding world. Why is he the "Boy Who Lived?" and who is this "Voldermort" who killed his parents?
Difficulty: 9
Pretty difficult with the controls. Since the game is more arrow based it is difficult to move in some cases and there are some extra challenges thrown in.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry is ready to go back when a strange creature appears and warns him against heading back. When he returns, students become petrified, and he is to blame. Why is the finger pointed at him, and what is this mysterious Chamber of Secrets?
Difficulty: 8
Not as difficult as 1, however the controls are more difficult than 1. Thus, it is difficult to move as well.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
After running from his Aunt and Uncle's house, Harry enters the wizarding world to find that the man who helped kill Harry's parents has escaped from prison to kill Harry. As a result, strange creatures known as dementors have appeared at Hogwarts and are causing Harry to pass out. Why are they affecting him this way and what is the story about this convict, Sirius Black?
Difficulty: 5
The jumping has been removed from this game, causing things to be easier. Also, the arrow controls seem to work better with this game. Mini-games are easier and winning them isn't necessary for progressing in the game.
Overall: 7.4
Overall doesn't affect Sound or graphics or even depth too much, I am glad at the result and would love to see what it is like to play this game on a real Gameboy Advance.
Happy Playing!
