Final Fantasy V: Squaresoft keeps improving its masterpiece janus
The wind has become irregular; what's happening? The King of Tycoon decides to investigate the Wind Shrine, where a crystal regulates the wind. Soon after he rides the hiryuu (dragon), a meteor falls near Castle Tycoon. Princess Lenna, despite her father's advice to stay home, decides to investigate the celestial body. Right around the crashing site, Butz the adventurer and his chocobo Boco are both startled by the crashing of the meteor. They both decide to investigate the meteor too.
When Butz arrives, he discovers Lenna who was captured by goblins. After doing away with them, he rescues Lenna. The newly formed duo then discovers a strange old man named Galuf. The only thing he remembers is his name; he has forgotten everything else. But when Lenna mentions that she wants to investigate the Wind Shrine, he claims that he wanted to go there too! After much hesitation, Butz joins them in their investigation too.
But since the meteor has caused land slides, the trio has to try and steal a pirate ship in a nearby cave. It failed, has Faris, the chief pirate, captures them. Fortunately, Faris spares the team's life and decides to follow them to the Wind Shrine too. When the team arrives, then find the crystal shattered and no trace of King Tycoon... However, the crystal shards come to them and give them the essence of warriors of the past. Also, the essence of the remaining crystal comes to them so they can try and save the other crystals. After being blessed by the crystal essence, King Tycoon appears and tells them they are the Warriors of the Crystal, whose mission is to protect the remaining 3 crystals, Fire, Water and Earth.
Will they succeed? Will Galuf recover his memory? And why would a pirate like Faris have the same pendant as the Princess of Tycoon?

As always, the newest Final Fantasy opus is better drawn than its predecessor. In Final Fantasy V, it is finally possible to distinguish a character's head and body; faces also have distinguishable emotions and expressions. Mountains in the overworld are better defined and perspective is finally logical - hugging a wall behind a building makes you walk behind that same building, whereas Final Fantasy IV kept you from doing it. There are many kinds of environments in the game, each with its specific background. Finally, magic is much more fluid, and you can even learn spells from monsters with blue magic!
In the last part of the game, when the crystals have been shattered for some time, the world reflects that state: the sand tide has stopped, deserts are expending, water becomes more stagnant and fire is dying
Sound: 10/10
This is literally what kept me from burying the game since feet under because of its insane difficulty. To this date, The Decisive Battle is still one of my most favorite tracks of all time (try to listen to it with maximum volume and bass when you're feeling angry
). Search the Light (the second part of the last dungeon) sounds strangely epic but is excellent too. Although not as memorable as Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V is still an excellent soundtrack, which has created one of the best video game orchestration of all times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ3wBwdyRVE . It also started a 16-bits tradition of trying to mimic real-life sounds. Here, you can hear the dragon cry.
Addictiveness: 8/10
Being a Final Fantasy, FFV has a lot to offer. There many jobs to be tried, each with its innate characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. Once you reach a certain amount of ABP, your character will learn a new ability which can be used at any time. For example, once your white mage learns White Lvl1, that character can now cast level 1 white magics at any time when he equips the ability.
A new innovation comes in the form of blue magic. When a blue mage/someone with the learning ability is in your team, you can learn spells from your foes when they cast it on you. For example, if someone cast lvl 5 doom and your learner has a level that's a multiple of 5, he will die but will learn the spell if you resurrected him or her before the end of the fight. Afterwards, you can use the spell and kill foes with levels that can be divided by 5... including bosses! However, you will need to use control (from a Trainer/Mediator) to get some of those spells, as the enemies won't cast them on you
Finally, before you reach the final dungeon, there are TONS of things to do: get legendary weapons, ultimate summon monsters and white/black/time magics, walk around the world, test your bravery/cowardice, a secret job, etc.
Story: 5/10
For a Squaresoft game, Final Fantasy V has a rather weak story line. The main male character, Butz, is simply an adventurer that wanders around the world and just happens to be near Tycoon when the meteor crashes. Except for Galuf, you learn nothing about the characters during the regular story line.
And quite frankly, the pirates are either very naïve of dumb not to realize that Faris is a woman. Besides, her sex and relationship to Lenna are not very subtly hidden, unlike the relation between Cecil and Golbez
Depth: 8/10
Despite a weak story line, the game does have a lot to offer. Also, when you travel to Butz's village of Castle Tycoon in the first part of the game, you can learn more about the characters.
Difficulty: 10/10
This is what made me put the game aside until I got to listen to the soundtrack on a disk. The game is incredibly difficult: not getting the proper jobs can severely handicap you, some monsters are so quick they can spam you with status-inducing magics that can't be avoided, some monsters are nearly impossible to defeat without a FAQ guide and some place are very hard to find without help.
So despite a weak story line and insane difficulty level, Final Fantasy V should still be tried by RPG freaks. The music is very enjoyable, the graphics are beautiful and characters are customizable to almost an infinite number of possibilities.

Final Fantasy V Review by The Big Nasty Wood
Hey there everyone I am The Big Nasty Wood and I am about to give you a review on Final Fantasy. This is one of the best franchises of all time and I hope it will keep on going like it has been. I have a very honest thought out review for everyone to look through. I hope it is not too boring or hurts your inside, but I have my own opinion and so do you so we are about to commence operation Final Fantasy . Sit back and enjoy the review of a true gamer. Thanks for your time and have a very very nice day everyone.
Final Fantasy V is a game that has a very may I say difficult place in the legacy. It doesn't have the great benefits of being the first in the legacy and it definitely inst the first to introduce something like a jobs system that has become something that is so fun and loved in the Final Fantasy games today. Its nice just to walk up to someone and talk to them get a job and be on your way it just makes you feel like you get to choose which path you want to take. The story in this game inst really up to par with the games like Final Fantasy four, Final Fantasy six or Final Fantasy seven. Its funny going back and seeing what people thought of it back in the day when it was released. There would often be words like simplistic or repetitive. Yeah something you wouldn't really think would be said, right? But that their opinion and everyone has one and this opinion my friends is definitely not mine. I found this game awesome in my opinion. Its just has a lot of what you would really want in a game. Maybe it is just because it is 2014 now and I have just played a lot of games I'm not sure why but I thought the opposite of what the people in the past had to say. Remember if you have any arguments about this review or if you just want to add something feel free to leave a comment and do not worry about getting bashed because I do not believe in that kind of thing. Someone else may say something, but I cannot control that just like somebody might come along and bash me for this but I cannot control it and I am just taking my chance. But I will not say anything to hurt your feeling and I hope no one else will either. Thanks for taking your time in reading this.
Depth 9
I think that this game has amazing depth and is really what makes Final Fantasy V get its twinkle if you know what I am saying aha. Final Fantasy V actually has a really decent jobs system, not to get confused with the jobs system that I mentioned earlier in my review that it doesn't have. The jobs system that I was talking about before is about walking around talking to people receiving jobs, picking the one that you have to do and going out and doing your job. The jobs system that I am mentioning about this Final Fantasy is about changing your character to a specific warrior. What I mean is there are warriors you can pick like a black mage, white mage, knight, monk, and so on. I would list all the warriors but I don't wanna spoil any of the game play. This feature that they have setup is really fun to play with and is definitely a very big asset to the game. Its nothing really new but just the way it is implemented in the game is just awesome. Besides from the really sweet job system that they have there is also lots of secret passageways that you can find and reveal hidden treasures. Remember if you have any arguments about the depth category of this game or if you just would like to add something feel free to leave a comment and do not worry about getting bashed because I do not believe in that.
Story 7
The story of Final Fantasy V has got to be one of the most depressing story lines of all the Final Fantasy games in the franchise. From the very start you control the hero Bartz and his companions on a
mission to figure out what is behind the mysterious reappearance of the disgusting and filthy evil that has made its way back into the great and peaceful world. We have also had the task as of what has been going on with the energy crystals that have been the lifeline of mankind for decades and decades to come.Thingas seem to go from bad to worse with every passing moment as the
heroes slowly begin to realize that the problems are almost entirely
man-made, that they may have inadvertently released the most insane
villain in Final Fantasy history and that they have no one but
themselves to blame. I guess that the story really inst too bad it is just really depressing so I thought that it really deserved a seven in my opinion. Remember if you have any arguments or opinions about anything in the story or if you just want to add something feel free to and don't worry about getting bashed because I do not believe in that.
Difficulty 7
I think that most Final Fantasy game are pretty difficult in their own way I just gave this Final Fantasy a seven because it is kind of like the other ones from the earlier generation and its just something that I was really already used to. The battles seem to vary in difficult from easy to hard, but their are a few battles that you will come across that you will be getting angry with and will want to throw your controller at the wall. With missions like that all that you have to do is either be patient and keep trying the boss or you need to be patient and level up your characters a bit more or in that matter even change your character's warrior position and get a different look at the battle. The game seems like it actually pretty long and will take a bit of time out of your day, but you will definitely have a lot of fun doing it. I find that all of the battle operations are easy to use and menus are pretty easy to read. The most difficult thing about this game I think is the starting. It just takes a little while before you get to save and it is a bit boring at the start like most Final Fantasy games in the franchise. But I think that the overall difficulty of this game is medium difficulty so I gave it a rating of seven. Remember if you have any arguments about the difficulty or if you just want to add something feel free to and don't worry about getting bashed because I do not believe in that.
Addictiveness 9
I find Final Fantasy V very addicting, but I do find all Final Fantasy game really addicting as well. There is just a lot of fun jam packed in this game and I think that it is one that everyone should try. There is many hidden passageways and awesome treasures and killer weapons to be found. There is also a bunch of character sets to switch from like the knight, black magi, white magi, monk, and many more for you to find out about in the game. There is a really cool battle set up and everything is really user friendly. I just find Final Fantasy V really addicting so I gave it a nine in the category addictiveness. Remember if you have any arguments about the addictiveness about this game or just want to add something feel free to leave a comment and don't worry about getting bashed because I don't believe in that.
Sound 9
I just love the sound in all Final Fantasy games it is just so recognisable, which might be the reason why some people really don't like it. Maybe they don't like it because it is just really fairy like. I don't know maybe the reason they don't like it is because it is repetitive. I really don't know why I have been hearing all of this nonsense about Final Fantasy music being annoying or just really bad. I honestly really do like final fantasy music. I especially like the music when the battle scene kicks it. It really just gets all intense and its like it gets you amped for the action. I guess there are times when I am playing for a while and the music gets to my head. All the bells and chimes can really get to a guys head and start to make it go thump thump. But I really could not play Final Fantasy without the music that it has, I just like it and I really do think that it deserves a nine for realize. Remember if you have any arguments about the sound in this game or if you just have something that you would like to add feel free to leave a comment and don't worry about getting bashed because I don't believe in that.
Graphics 9
Well I must say that the graphics of this game deserve high ratings from anyone because they are just a great improvement from the graphics of the earlier games in the franchise. They really tried to improve the detail they put into all the outfits and the monsters and just everything seems decent. There are pretty cool effects when you do your magic moves or when you summon something with a summoned. I find that all of the text in this game is pretty easy to read and I don't get confused with the words at all, well other than the jobs word I think that they could have come up with a better word than that. It seems like you will come into battle with a good variety of different monsters as well they have odd styles and really weird names. I have come across a couple mentor's that have made me laugh and I am sure you will too. Remember if you have any arguments about the graphics category of this game or even if you would just like to add something feel free to leave a comment and don't worry about getting bashed because I don't believe in that.
Well there you have it that is my review on the game final fantasy be sure to leave a comment about it and leave your opinions no one is here to get bashed so go ahead and say what you like. Final Fantasy is definitely a game worth playing and I am sure you will like it as much as I did. There are many more Final Fantasy games out there so don't just stop on this one. Keep it going playing the games before this and play the games that came after it, you will be sure to have a blast. In my opinion Final Fantasy Seven is one of the best if not the best Final Fantasy games of all time. Now that is the Final Fantasy that is on the PlayStation not the one that is on here. I think the Final Fantasy game that is on here does not cam pare to the Final Fantasy on the PlayStation. Anyways I hope you all enjoyed my review and I hope that I did not bore you too much with it because I know that it was long and I know that all most people wanna do is just play the game so thank you for taking the time to read this and please have a nice day and don't forget to leave a comment and leave your own opinions on the game if you have any arguments.

Final Fantasy V hyperflareman12
Hey everyone! Hyperflareman12 back after a couple months. Actually, It's more like a year since it's 2013. But, after the longest time, I finally figured out that I skipped a Final Fantasy game. It was FF V, The least liked game in the original series. The reason why, at least in my opinion, is that it's doesn't have the greatest story-line in the beginning and the main.....um..... I don't know what to call it. Well, I'll just say it. Job Classes. There. I said it. I just don't like them. It's a bad game device. Thats the same reason I didn't like FF III.OK, after that rant, I'll get into the story. There was a king name Tycoon or Typhoon. I don't remember much. But he had a daughter name Lenna. The king went to go check on the Wind Crystal. But, when he got there, the Wind Crystal shattered. Lenna felt something was wrong and sneaked out of the castle. And here's the stupid part. The Wind Shrine was over across the sea. How do she think she'll get across. There was no sea port near the castle. But you may be asking "how did the king get there". Well, he flew. On a dragon or as the developers call it a Hyurir or something. Anyway, Princess Lenna was walking along to get to the Wind Shrine when a meteor hit. I kid you not. That really happens. So a young man and his Chocbo named Boco were making camp when the meteor hit. He rushes to the scene and finds the princess out cold. The princess wakes up and tells her story to.......um...... Ok, you name the man and his name is......Butz. Yes, that's his name. But, in the Game-Boy version. His name is Bartz. But then they hear a moan coming from the area around the meteor. It was an old man. He stands up and asks where is he. They tell him. But the old man can't remember any thing. The only thing he remembers is his name which is Galuf. Since he doesn't remember any thing, he just goes along with the princess and Bartz. That my readers is how Final Fantasy V beginnings. Odd beginning. But I've seen stranger. Thanks for reading and good bye!

Final Fantasy V Review Astynax27
Overall:Final Fantasy is a series known for its innovation, memorable characters, enjoyable music, and over-use of amnesia as a
plot device – and Final Fantasy V for the SNES is no exception. The story takes place on your typical fantasy world (dragons, pirates, and pre-gun powder weaponry abound). The first character (can’t really call him the main) is a traveler with a basic but
existent back. This is an improvement (in my opinion) over the typical “four mysterious Light Warriors arrive in town one day.”He quickly meets up with the other characters in the game and they, in turn, try to solve the mystery of the meteors and the crystals. The game takes some unpredictable turns, remains relatively consistent throughout (i.e. no gaping plot holes), and has funny bad guys that make the work fun.
Graphics: The graphics are good. It’s an SNES game, so there’s not a lot of range to this sort of thing. The over-world map is easy to navigate, Monsters are well drawn, and character animations during battle are great (for back then).
Sound: One of the best things about all Final Fantasy games is the music. The music in FF V is enjoyable, tolerable for long hours of
grinding, and matched well with the mood/storyline.
Addictiveness: The answer to this depends not on the plot of the game itself, but on the job system. Jobs were first introduced in FF III,
and were then developed for FFV. Jobs allow players to tailor their warriors based on specific skills. This, in turn, makes for multiple ways to play the game and gives people a reason to grind. That having been said, many of these jobs are clearly inferior to other options, so whether or not the game is “addictive” depends on the player’s desire to try and build all job options. Unlike later games (i.e. FF VII) there are no side games.
Story: The story is very good! It has unpredictable turns, interesting side-stories, and it works to create a very likable world.
Granted… they need to stop using memory loss as an excuse. Due to my strong policy against spoilers, I don’t write a lot about game stories. I will say it’s a good story and it’s worth playing. I would say IV and VI are better, however.
Depth: There’s a lot to be found in the main story, but the game is lacking in side games, etc. If the job system is fully developed, then there is an option to do more – but again, this is a matter of interest vs. need.
Difficulty: This depends entirely on grinding and job utilization. If the player is willing to do the grinding required to gain power and skills, the game can be beaten with relative ease. If however, you simply wish to play through with minimal grinding, you'll have a difficult time.
Lastly: When the game starts, none of the characters have jobs. There is a “base” job. One of the most over-looked and powerful jobs in
the game. After other jobs are developed, the “base” option and the “mimic” job are best.

Final Fantasy V Review by DanielFantasyVI DanielFantasyVI
This is a Final Fantasy V Review by DanielFantasy VI. I will frequently put some comments and recommendations for this game. Also, I am fairly strict when it comes to rating games. Actually, when I rate a 6, that would be pretty high. The review would purely be opinionated so please do not comment anything bad if you are against me.
Graphics - 6
Personally, the graphics are not so good. I mean I have seen a lot of Super Nintendo Games (SNES) that have better graphics, especially its sequel, Final Fantasy VI (Please don't be offended). What I like for this game to be better is a refine to the graphics for a better game play and also, I like a refine to the graphics of the enemies. That's all.
Sound - 7
The sound is great, compared to other games in the system. The creators did a very well job in the sound and they tried hard to at least make it realistic. Although the sound is somewhat "robotic," it is fine for me. There is nothing in particular bad about the sound or music, in fact, I like the sound and music because its genre is one of my likes. I will not be a spoiler so try listening to the music itself and see.
Addictiveness - 8
The game is very addicting, along with the other Final Fantasy games. It is fun, especially with its Job System which lets you assign specific jobs to a character. Each job has specific skills and advantages, along with disadvantages. I will not spoil the names so try finding out. Also, despite its conditions, it is a fun game because there is destruction and evil in this game which is pretty much what you expect in most RPGs like this. I recommend this game and its GBA (Game Boy Advance) version to all future RPG players out there. Give it a try and show me what you feel.
Story - 7
The story is actually great. It has destruction and evil in it (which I am not going to spoil to you readers). It is also fairly long and thorough. It could actually affect the player's emotion. There is one particular event that affected me in the game itself.
Depth - 7
The game offers a lot of things like adventure, lots of enemies, a lot of jobs, a lot of bosses and an evil antagonist. This game can give you a new gaming experience, even though it is just in Super Nintendo. AS I said a while ago, the game is fairly long and could take some time. Patience is the key to finishing the game. There are also secrets in the game, which is up to you to find out. Overall, the game features a lot and is a must try for players.
Difficulty - 6
The controls are pretty easy if you have tried using the SNES before but if not, this could be a challenge but trust me, you'll get used to the controls the game has. The game itself is not also hard but without the right strategy or tactic, you might want to grind some levels and give another shot. Overall, the game is easy if you are used to the controls and if you know the strategy specific for an enemy.
Overall - 7.7
Overall, this game is very good (even though it is just 7.7). Here is my one comment for the game:
1.) Make the graphics better
This is the end of my review. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a private message (DanielFantasyVI).

Final Fantasy 5 review deggle
this was a fun game with an awesome story to use and the characters and how they acted in situations and the music was done great and worked with the game.
Graphics 8 this game's graphics were okay for a play station i liked how the world map had a 3D look to it. and the water looked like it was real the battle graphics were pretty nice looking. it was like an old anime.
Sound 9 the sounding was cool especially Sydra's voice she had the coolest voice even though she was a sea monster. since this was one of Final Fantasy's old games characters had no voice except Sydra. the Music in the game was really awesome sounding i loved the battle theme especially. it really fun sounding. and the boss theme made you want to get ready for anything.
Addictiveness 8 this game was really fun because of the characters they were all awesome and i enjoyed playing as them and their stories and back rounds you slowly recover and learn their secrets they have hidden or forgot about. which was figure out.
Depth 8 this game is very long and likes to confuse you a lot. especially when you are trapped in a dungeon and you have a time limit. and the mazes and puzzles you have to solve are mean to you.
Difficulty 9 this game is sooooo hard the controls are easy to figure out it's just everything else in the game like all the puzzles and mazes are hard to figure out and some have time limits then you die and all of the monsters are just super hard to kill even if you are like ten levels higher they will still give you a big challenge. you might die a few times but don't let that get to you because that's the only way you can level because Exp is mean in this game.
Story 9 the story starts with Reina or Lenna and her father leaving to the wind shrine. because the wind has stopped. then we go to a traveler named Bartz with his trusty chocobo but suddenly a earthquake happens and they escape out of where they were. and it seems a meteor fell out of the sky so Bartz goes to check it out. and finds Reina there too but she is attacked by goblins so he comes to her rescue then the meteor opens up with a door like hole and a man comes out who has lost his memory but his name is Galuf.
hopefully this review was okay.
