One More Line Review by: zanderlex - 6.5/10

The Line
I'll admit that this is a really unique game, but at least it's cool. I found this game a few weeks ago when I was searching the App Store for a interesting free game to play and this is one of the ones that I hadn't played yet. I really liked the picture of the game so I decided to play it. I played it a couple of times and I didn't really like it, after just one day my only reason for keeping the game was so I could beat my high score one last time and once I did, I deleted the game. Less than a week after that I was bored so I decided to give the game another chance and I downloaded it again. This time around I started to play more and I began to like it and soon enough it became a cool game.

GRAPHICS 8/10

The graphics are cool, they are simple, and they are futuristic, and when you can get a game that has all those aspects, then it should look pretty good overall. It's practically an endless runner game where you play as three colored lines and you move by revolving around these small and colorful circles. The track that you play along is pitch black and along the edge of the track is a rail that changes between blue and red as you press the screen. That's really all there is to it, the circles, the rail, and the lines, but when you are actually looking at it and seeing everything move and change, it looks amazing. Overall the graphics are really good and for a grade, they will get an 8 out of 10.

SOUND 9/10

Wow. Just wow. I find games that have this kind of music rarely, and I love it. The game has one main song that's broken up into like 4 or 5 different pieces and put into various parts of the game and it sounds awesome. Like the graphics, this song is futuristic, it's energetic, and it's just so cool. The first time I had the game, I never played with the volume on so I never heard the music, but I heard it when I downloaded the game again and I couldn't believe what I was missing out on. Right after I heard it for the first time, I literally went to YouTube and listened to the full song, and then I downloaded it to my phone. It's that good. As for other sounds, there's a few small tunes when you are revolving and when you die but that's about it. The music is really what makes the sound great, and for a grade, it gets a 9 out of 10. Also if you ask me, I'm pretty sure that parts of the second half of the song are parts of the first half backwards.

ADDICTIVENESS 6/10

The game itself isn't really all that fun, but trying to beat your own high score can be a lot of fun. Seriously, if your high score is like 50 and one random day you decide you wanted to break that, you might find yourself playing the game dozens of times over and over until you beat it but it doesn't really become too addictive until you already have a pretty decent score. The suspense of the game also helps make it fun because the game is really fast and very suspenseful, and making just one mistake or even blinking at the wrong time will surely kill you. That's really all that there is to it, it's a very repetitive game and you don't even do much to begin with so for a grade, addictiveness is going to get a 6 out of 10.

STORY N/A

If you got this game for a story, then you might as well delete this game right now. Heck of all games that don't even have a story, this one is all the way at the bottom of the list. The only thing that you do in this game is move your lines in a straight line and revolve around circles every now and then so you don't hit them. The entire objective of the game is literally to move one more line ahead of where you die each time. This is a game where the title completely sums up the story and what the games about. 0 out of 10, Too Much Nothing.

DEPTH 1/10

Oh dear, I already said too much nothing didn't I? Well it needs to be said again here. This really has to be the smallest game that anyone has ever played. I mean, every endless runner game ever invented has to be at least 20 times longer than this and that's not even including characters and power ups and such. However if this game had other stuff, it would be a completely different game and the style of this one would be lost. The way this game was made was meant to be very small, so it's still good even though it offers next to nothing and for a grade, this aspect gets a 1 out of 10.

DIFFICULTY 5

This game isn't hard, but at the same time it isn't easy. Nothing can really prepare you on how to beat this game but if you want to do well you need to be really attentive because as I had mentioned earlier, every split second counts and every time you tap the screen or you release it something could go very wrong. You need to make sure that you are very good with your timing as well and if you can do that, there aren't really that many things for you to be worried about. Overall, the game is just as much easy as it is hard and for a grade, this gets an even 5.

OVERALL 6.5/10

Overall, this game can be a lot of fun, but you would really need to get into the mood for it in order to have a blast. The actual game and playing aspect of One More Line is ok at the best if you're not really into it and the way the game looks, feels, and sounds is amazing. I would suggest that you give it a try as the worst that can happen is that you play it a few times and then get bored, it just might not be for everyone but at least it's free so there's nothing to worry about at all. Give it a try and see if your thoughts match up to my grade for this game which is going to be a 6.5 out of 10.
