Goat SimulatorFor a short amount of time, Goat Simulator has been viewed as though it was one of the greatest and most exciting games of this generation. There's really a split vote when it comes to this game as some say that it's a really awesome game while some say that it's just to weird and isn't fun, but everybody an agree that the game is unique and that it may also lead to a whole new genre of simulation games, I mean heck, we alreay have The Amazing Frog getting ready for a release and that's pretty much based off of this game. I have been watching videos of this game for many months after it first came out from Youtubers such as Markiplier and I thought it was a really cool concept that had a heck of a lot of comdey, and evetually I pulled together enough money to get the game, and I had practically played every single inch of the game.
GRAPHICS 9/10
The graphics of the game can atcually be viewed as really good, because they are. I personaly fel that a lot of effort had ben put into making the towns of the game so appealing and in the first
update of the game, that has been made even more true by ading all sorts of new skyscrapers and roaller coasters and such. One of the main aspects of graphics is about how much detail is put into a single object and I feel that the developers of this game have done a great job with that because everything has so much detail. Whether it's the citizens of the towns, who always appear to be in multiple places at once, whether it's the mountains, or even when you are looking at the whale trpped in the middle of the ocean in the
updated map, even the grass looks quite realistic. My point is that the developers of the game have put in so much effort into making sure that the game was beautiful to look at and it has paid off. Because of this, I am going to give the graphics aspect of the game a 9 out of 10.
SOUND 9/10
The sounds of the game are pretty much just as nice as the graphics because it can add a lot to the overall experience. First off, there are the sounds of the game which only seems to get bett after each
update to the game is made. When the game had first ben released, there have been a ton of sounds, most of which were quite comical and then when the first
update was added, even more sounds have been added such as new charcter voices which if you paid close attention to some of them, they could really make you laugh. Next up there is the music, which I feel is even better than the regular sounds because some of the music is actually very memorable and quite catchy. There's the song that plays when you first start up the game, there are a few various tunes that will randommly pop up as you play the game, and there are a few various songs and sounds that will start when you enter a specific location such as the top of the skyscraper in the new city or when you compelete or start something specific. I also feel that like some of the regular sounds, that some of the music also adds to the comedy of the game based on the tone and melody. I feel that all the songs and sounds fit the game quite nicely and overall I am going to give this aspect a 9 out of 10.
ADDICTIVENESS 10/10
What can be more addicting than controlling a goat and basically doing whatever you want? Very few things are going to bring you that much joy because there are so many awesome things for you to do in the game. You can direct your goat into a gas station and blow it up, you can go into the anti gravity facility anf float, or you can climb up the crane, jump off onto the building and get yourself an awesome jetpack. (Warning, flying skills required to use jetpack.) That's just a few of the things you can do, and I can bet that there must be more than a hundred places to discover or goals to accomplish just in the first map alone, and then there's even more stuff to do in the second
updated ciy. My favorite place int eh
updated city has to be the theme park because you can go up to the top of the roller coaster and mess around with stuff up there. After that, I also like the skyscraper because there's a ton of stuff to destroy and play with up there. Lastly, there's evena few secret blocks that you can find that will turn you into Minecraft goat. This is really cool because once you become Minecraft goat, you can place blocks wherver you want and build stuff. As I had mentioned, that's just the tip of the iceberg here because there's just so much to do and as a grade for this category, it would not be fair if I gace it anything less than a perfect score, so that;s what I am going to give it, a 10 out of 10.
STORY 7/10
If there's some sort of a story in this game, I haven't found it yet. Like a few games that I have reviewed lately such as Minecraft and Unturned, this is mostly an open world do whatever you want game with no set story. It's up to you and your imagination to choose how you want to use your life as a possibly demented goat. Unlike Minecraft and Unturned, whose only set story was to survive, thee is no such goal in this game. Heck, forget trying to survive, I bet it would be a challenge if you played this game and tried to die, really. You can launch yourself off the tallest building in the new city and you won't even get a scratch, so you can knock off surviving off your list of things to do. When it comes to a story, there are only a few things that you can do. First off, you can do various stunts to try and get a high a score as you can possibly achieve, that's one story. Or you can try to discover all of the secrets, places, trophies, and goals of the game. Other than that, there is really nothing else that you can use to constitue a story and my overall grade for this category is going to be a 7 out of 10.
DEPTH 10/10
The game ha a ton of depth even though some people, including the developers dont seem to think so. When the game had first came out, and I was in awe of all the things that you can do, I said that this is basically Grand Theft Auto but with a goat instead. Then, the developers went on to say that this is really all they would do, but then they still went on to make a new
update with a new city. Right now, there are two different cities that you can choose from, both of which are quite large, have many things for you to do, and also have a ton of secret locations and goals. On top of that, there are also a handful of different goats that you can choose from, and from hat I have seen, there are people in the Steam workshop who are making new special goats to use all the time, some of which are quite hiarious. I was watching a video by Markiplier and he was showing off some of the new goats that some of the users have been making and some of them really stood out. One of them was Zoidberg from Futurama while the other goat was a shopping cart, and actual living shopping cart. There is so much when it comes to the depth, and just like the Addictiveness portion, I can't give anything less than a perfect score, so I am going to give this category another 10 out of 10.
DIFFIULTY 5
The game will be challenging to some based on what you are used to because to some, the controls are going to be tough to get sued to, but other than that, the game is going to be pretty nuetral when it comes to difficulty. Some of the goals can be challengin while some stunts may backfire and others may not work in your favor at all, but all you have to do is keep trying until you get it right. You just need to keep fighting through the struggles and use the comedy of the game to releive stress. That's about it for difficulty, and I am going to give it a 5.
OVERALL 9/10
Overall, this is one amazing game that is funny because you never know what's going to happen, especially when it concerns the physics of the game, and because you might always end up doing something stupid in the game. As I had mentioned earlier, there are going to be some people who won't like the game, but if you never heard of it, or you never played it because you don't really have much of an opinion on the game, then I urge you to give it a try. The game is only 10 dollars I believe and it still has a lot of potential left in it, so try it out. I really had a blast with this game and I am going to give it an overall score of 9 out of 10.
