Army Men - Operation Green Review by: Raveman - 9.5/10

Army Men - Operation Green
Overall Rating: 9.5
This game was amazing! It is a great game to play (especially for fun). This game is fun and addicting; you'll most likely be hooked to it for sure! Once you get the hang of controls and such, you'll be having a blast of a time! I have fun playing it during spare time (and free time). This game is certainly not the average shooter you'd expect. In general, this game is an excellent pocket game. It's fun and gives the awesome feeling of opening fire at the enemy (which were the Tans in this game). I love to play Army Men: Operation Green  in my spare time.
Graphics Rating: 8
The graphics were great, especially for it's time when it was made (2001). 3DO Company did a good job adding improvements to the game, and it certainly showed well! This game was fun to play and is also good for young(er) game players. The graphics weren't as bland as the original Army Men (which was for Game Boy Color. It was also a good game, as well) and had more detail brought into it. The graphics showed more of the surroundings and character rather than a simple green stick figure and one-patterned ground. Various building designs have been made, more detailed enemies and allies, better boat and vehicle designs. Great improvements.
Sound Rating: 9
The sound quality was excellent. Though it could be better with the improvements of the gun fire sounds, it was overall great. When the enemies threw bombs and the X's appeared to show where the bombs would land, the sound of a bomb falling could be heard as the standard high-pitched scree until it hit the ground and exploded. Made with a solid amount of accuracy shown. The gun shots sound a bit realistic, but when you rapidly fire the gun it sounds fake.
Addicting level: 10
This game was very addicting. It brought out the fun of a pocket-game and is combined with the awesome feeling of shooting up enemies! Throwing grenades was made easier by simply hitting 'X' and getting the distance right. This game allows you to ride different vehicles (depending on which mission you are on) and you can blow up enemies, turrets, vehicles, enemy sniper towers, buildings and more! Also, it's funny to see that when your character is walking/running while facing North (or where his back is turned to the player), he looks like he is dancing. But he looks like that when he walks anyway. Or it could be described as a fat hopping chicken.
Story Rating: 7
The story was good, but it didn't go far into detail. The story line seemed to be based off of World War II, the campaign you start at represents 'D-Day.' The story was usually described in mission debriefing, about one or two paragraphs before you started the mission.
Depth Rating: 8
There are fifteen missions total in the game, and each take a while to complete. It's not like you shoot a few enemies and you beat the mission. This is good because you get to use more firepower throughout the game. However, some missions are made longer because you might get lost very easily if you are a beginner. The game has a lot to offer; fifteen missions, the experience of having fun shooting plastic enemies and more! This game isn't one of those boring ten-minute game that just kills time and isn't fun. It's something you want to play again, because it isn't just for time killing.
Difficulty: 5
The controls are very easy to learn; from starter to advanced player. However, it does not mean that this game is as easy as following arrows around to get to your destination while and after taking down your enemies. The difficulty comes from location. You can get lost very easily, especially because their are no arrows or markers telling you where to go. It's hard to memorize where to go, where you have been and if your objective is near or far from you. That is what I believe is the only difficulty; finding out where to go.

Army Men - Operation Green Game Description

Following a similar design to the original Army Men PC title, Operation Green has you controlling a long green soldier who must fight his way behind enemy lines and defeat the Tan army at their own game. Each of the 15 missions has you fighting a range of enemy characters, using your weapons (grenades, machine guns, rocket launchers and more) to take down as much as you can. You can also use certain vehicles during the action, giving you the opportunity to use even more firepower.
