I have mentioned on the discord server several times that I was going to be dragged to Florida and go to Disney World and Universal Studios, and other family stuff. I left on June 18 and got to Florida. So what has happened since then?
Day 1 (June 19): My family stayed with relatives overnight, and we were supposed to have left to our rented home in the morning. Instead, they decided to leave at 2pm, thus making the morning heavily dull. Then, when it was finally 2pm, my grandma decided she wants a nap, so we couldn't leave for another hour. When we finally left, I had such a great car ride.... before we left, my brother had used the bathroom, and didn't drink any fluids during the ride, but he still had to use the bathroom, and since my family is too stubborn to pull over and find a place with a restroom, they made him pee in a cup (and since my brother is ridiculously stubborn, what could have been a simple task was just horrible). After that beautiful moment happen, my grandma (as "sweet" as she is) starts complaining about how my brother should've used the bathroom before he left and said she was going to punish him for needing to go...
Yeah... punish a 6 year old boy just because he needed to go to the bathroom.
I had to call her out for that and pointed out that he did go to the bathroom and didn't drink anything. And to end the beautiful drive, as we reached the house and gathered our stuff, my grandma knocked over the cup of my brother's urine...The house made up for the first half of the day though.Day 2 (June 20):Starts out fine. We jumped into the pool. Everything was good. The mother leaves to pick up my cousin, and my grandma puts my baby brother in the pool. I was alone in the pool with 3 little boys. I was fine. Then my grandpa jumped in. All was fine. Then I got hungry and left the pool to eat...Everything crumbled after I did that...Apparently, my grandpa is incapable of being in a pool and watching three little boys. So my grandma is telling me to hurry up and eat, and I'm like "wtf? Am I not allowed to take my time eating???" I had even suggested to her "if you're that worried about the boys, take them out of the pool." She didn't listen to me. I finished eating, and I'm forced back in the pool, and was forced to stay there until my grandma finally got in, which wasn't for another hour. By the time she got in, I left cuz I was done. And in a strange turn of events, my dad turned out to be in Florida too, and he's staying in a rented house near mine, so I got to see him.Day 3 (today):I went to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. This should have been a great day...It was, when I was not with my family. Otherwise... hell no.Let me count the ways:
1) My other relatives are in Epcot, and my grandma desperately wants to see them. She is rushing everyone to get there, and when we do get there, it turns out they're in the middle of a 60 minute wait line. They decide to wait for them, so I left them to do my own thing.
2) I told the mother prior to coming to Florida that I'd need more money so I can buy stuff. She never bothered to went to the bank, and when I asked her, she searched and gave me all her money, which was only $20, and gave me her credit card.
2) After having done my own thing long enough, my grandma calls me to tell me they are all going to Animal Kingdom. I told her I wasn't interested in coming (cuz I didn't realize it expanded and improved since the last time I went there, which was 2 years ago), and she's all "but you need to be with your family" aka family guilt. This would have been perfect... except ALL of my relatives ditched us and went straight to Animal Kingdom without us.
3) Apparently, my grandma was so insistent on spending time with her sister and relatives and all that she's constantly saying many things to the mother, never giving any clear direction and confusing her. The mother is complaining to me, and doesn't like it when I point out to her that some things could have been avoided if she did what she wanted to do and plan it out.
4) My bf has pointed out to me that if he's seen me with my brothers, he would've thought I was their mother... this is just nitpicking, but when you're leaving a park to go to another one, ALWAYS ask your kids to use the bathroom before you leave. (Yeah, another repeat of day 1, with the father telling my brother he should've done so before they left... but they never bothered to ask if he needed to go when we left Epcot to go to Animal Kingdom)
Adding on to that, no one bothered to see if my 4 year old brother was wearing his wristband, and by the time they noticed he had taken it off in the van, we were already in the entrance to the park.
5) More grandma nonsense... I've done my fun in Animal Kingdom, away from my family again, and my grandma texts me, saying we were leaving. I assume they headed to the exit, so I went there. I got there. I didn't see them. I call grandma, and I tell her I'm there. I got this response from her:
"Why didn't you meet us at this place!?"
I had to tell her she said we were leaving, so I assumed they were at the exit waiting for me. So she tells me she'll come to me there.
...
Ten minutes later, she hasn't shown up, so I call her again, and cue the following conversation:
Grandma: Why didn't you come meet us!?
Me: Cuz you said you were going to come to me???
So she says she's gonna come to me. Five minutes later, she calls me and tells me she's gonna stand at this place, and I should go find her... yeah, that sounds like a great idea, doesn't it? I had to call her a few minutes later cuz I couldn't even find the place she was talking about. Turned out she wasn't even near the exit, and after I finally find her, I learn my parents and one of my brothers went on a ride.
After some more minutes and constantly calling my stepdad to no success (and learning the mother lost her phone), he calls me and tells me he just got out of the ride and will head to the exit, so the rest of us should head there too. I tell my grandma that, and her response:
Grandma: I know they're at this ride. They'll come out from there, so we'll wait for them.
(five minutes later as it rains)
Me: Are you even sure they were on that ride?? They would've been out by now, and they clearly didn't leave from there.
That helped her decide to leave.
6) To end this off... I bought myself a dress that I saw and really liked. So I got myself something. Once we got home and I cook ramen for myself, I mention to the mother what I bought. I got this response in return:
Mother: You bought a dress!? Why would you buy it!? I told you to buy only food!!
No, she actually didn't tell me to buy only food. She told me I can buy what I want. Also, it's perfectly clear that, based on that statement, I'm not allowed to buy any souvenirs for myself... wow, what the hell happened to "don't spend money on candy" when I went to an anime convention back in April?
I have never been this angry in a single day THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A VACATION TO DISNEY. I know I said so many times that my family irritates me to the bitter core, but this shouldn't have happened on vacation!!!
*end rant*
