So, I remember watching the original movie as a kid and I remember it scaring the crap out of me and watching the trailer for this movie brought a lot of that back.

I've watched the movie since and it's not nearly as scary but I'm hoping that this movie can be scary where the original wasn't.

I'm NOT a fan of scary stuff at all, but I really like the vibes that I get from the trailers, especially the Stranger Things ones, both in feel and in acting. Definitely will not be seeing it in theaters but at some point I want to.

zanderlex : yeah, I'm loving the throw-back to the 80's feel that a lot of stuff is having. That was a great era for movies and I like that some of that is coming back again.

I don't love that this is a remake but it feels 80's enough from the trailer that I can probably overlook that.

JigSaw : totally agreed there. Although I didn't find him scary in the normal sense. He was creepy in a totally different way than most movie "monsters" are. And I would rather have someone try something new than to try and duplicate what was already done.

As long as they don't do what almost every single Horror movie does and go with Jump scares, than I'm behind it. I find that most horror movies get boring, cause there's little true tension, just unease created but music and noises. The original It was AMAZING, a little campy (80s style) but not bad. I do hope that they don't just make a shot for shot remake either.
