This year the annual winter netplay tournament will be based on the Sony PlayStation! All of the games in this tournament will be accessible to everyone so you wont need any special items to join the tournament, as long as you have a decent computer and internet connection, you can join!

We'll be playing various multiplayer games for the PlayStation. In each weekly matchup, you'll be able to pick which games you want to play against your weekly opponent. You and your weekly opponent come up with a time where both of you are available so this tournament can work around anyone's schedule.

Here's how it works. Everyone starts out in the "winners" bracket and if you lose, you go on to the "losers" bracket and if you lose in the losers bracket, you're out of the tournament. At the very end, the winner of the winners bracket and the winner of the losers bracket play each other but the winner of the losers bracket has to beat the winner of the winners bracket twice (this makes it fair to the user who went undefeated for going undefeated).

Since this is a double elimination tournament, there is no way for me to know how long it'll last since the amount of people who sign up determines how long it'll last but if I were to take a guess, I'd say around 10 weeks. I will allow any number of users to join but we will need an even number. Bye weeks may be handed out to users who do very well if needed in order to balance out the structuring of the brackets.


Requirements:
-The games require the RGR Plugin to be installed. You can get that here:

Prizes:
1st = 200,000 Viz or $200 Steam Games
2nd = 100,000 Viz or $100 Steam Games
3rd = 50,000 Viz or $50 Steam Games
4th = 20,000 Viz
5th = 10,000 Viz


Penalty:
If you fail to play 2 or more of your matches, you'll be added to the netplay ban list which means you wont be able to participate in a netplay tournament for at least a year. You'll also have 10,000 Viz deducted from your account.

In order to determine who plays who when the tournament begins, everyone's seed order will be determined by the highest score each user can get in the above game. This isn't required but if you want an easier schedule then you'll want to rank as high as possible in this game. To do this, scroll down the page and click the 'Click Here to Compete for Highscore' link and then take a screenshot of the highest score you can get in that game and then submit that score to the game's page.

Yeah, I'll join. This will be something fun to help me relax during school this semester. 

I've been excited for this Tourney and ready to throw my towel...or tail...into the ring! Let's have a great time with these great games

I would really like to join this, but I'm not sure if my computer can handle PS1 Netplay (Internet shouldn't be an issue). 

If anyone would be willing to lend me a small amount of their time so I could test it out, it would be greatly appreciated. My computer can handle PS1 games fine, but I don't know how much extra strain Netplay would put on the CPU for that system.

This is going to kill me so much.....I want to join this, but I know from the most tests I did before that my desktop couldn't allow me to netplay crash team racing. All I got is as far into the game menu then the graphics stopped while the music continued to play. '-'

I would like to join in, but I don't live in the US. Is there a way to check if I check how much lag I cause with US players before I properly sign up? I do want to take part, but I will understand if I'm not allowed.

What's the best way to set up an XBOX ONE controller for this? 

Count me in as well. I'm not too excited about the list of games available to play but I'm sure this will be a fun experience either way.



thing1 : Not sure about Xbox One controllers, but for my PS3 controller I use an XInput Wrapper by Scarlet.Crush ( here ). I've also tested my PS4 and Xbox 360 controllers with this and they work fine so I'm pretty sure that the XB1 controller will work as well. If not, then you could always use MotionJoy ( here ), though I've never liked them anyway mainly because its 3rd party and your controller only works through their servers which is dumb. But I suppose it's better than nothing...

Kruzer : Well, what I've done in the past in just use a Micro-USB cord, and then configure it in the game. That should work, shouldn't it? 

thing1 : Thats probably true too, since Microsoft owns Xbox the controller should be compatible to their PCs if you were to just plug it in. But when I use my PS3 controller the analog sticks won't work unless I have the Xinput active.

DavidMcC1989 : Wanna give it a try some time on Friday? I typically home around 4 CST, so any time after that should work.

Kruzer : I would suggest people do NOT use Motion in Joy. It messes with USB drivers and can potentially cause a lot of problems.
A better alternative is either ds4windows for PS4 controllers and SCP-DS/SCP Server for PS3 controllers...

I'd like to join (my second tournament ever ), but do I need the PlayStation item to play these games? Also, I've never played PlayStation "Vizzed" games on my computer so I'd like to test it and see if playing PlayStation games will work for me on my pc. If anyone can help me with that I'd be greatly appreciated.

i would love to sign up but i'm not sure if my garbage pc is good for ps1 netplay. it can't even do genesis games

I am in. I was wondering what happened with the PS1 Games on this site. Hopefully the news of these PS1 Games being playable will get people more active here on Vizzed. Hopefully my Netplay works. Otherwise, I am not in.
