Hey there, vizzians! Green here with another Pokemon review! Today, I'll be reviewing a pretty popular Pokemon game that came out 6 years ago. Yup, you heard it right: Soulsilver! It is really an awesome game, and it will always stay in my heart. This time, reader, you'll have to help me to collect  6 gym badges from 6 gym leaders, and they are: Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. Let's do this!

Gr8 graphics for a DS game! Heartgold and Soulsilver are remakes of the original Gold and Silver for the Game Boy Color. Since this is remade, what do you expect of its graphics? Compared to the originals, the game's graphics have improved so much, and Pokemon sprites are much more detailed. Oh and HGSS's graphics in my opinion are better than Diamond and Pearl's. Why? Animation, sprites, colors, and everything. D/P is a bit slow, like I noticed in the beginning of a battle your Pokemon takes a while to react. In HGSS they also re arranged some sprites, such as Chimchar's (there is a minor difference between its sprite in HGSS and in D/P/Plt). Overall this game has the best graphics Gen IV can offer. A definite 10/10. Yay, we defeated the 1st gym leader! One down, five left.

Catchy soundtrack! Pokemon games have always offered amazing soundtracks, and this game is no surprise. Soulsilver's themes are so catchy! Many of them are stuck in my head, such as Red's theme, Kanto Gym battle, Raikou's theme, and more. They're all very memorable, and almost all of them are remixes of original themes of Gold and Silver. In my opinion the champion's theme is the star theme of the game, it represents it you can say. Like I said before, they are all catchy, and I'm sure you'll like them all. Overall this Pokemon game shares one of the best Pokemon soundtracks out there. Again, 10/10. 2nd gym leader down, and 4 more badges to go.

So many things to do! This is where the review gets interesting, as I'm about to say lots of stuff below. Above it was just a warm up, and starting from the 3rd battle things will get rough. First of all, HeartGold and Soulsilver is a BIG game, and I do mean by 'big'. In fact it is much bigger than other Pokemon games, such as Diamond/Pearl, Black/White, and even ORAS. The biggest reason why is because this game offers two regions. Yup, you heard me right. 2 instead of 1. It is all thanks to our king, Satoru Iwata (*sniff* You are dearly missed...). Not only he brought Pokemon to the western world, but he also decided to add Kanto to Gold and Silver, because he thought players deserved an extra region.

Anyway back on topic. Because of its immensity, you'll be playing this game for a while. There are 486 Pokemon in this game, so good luck catching them all. Beating the champion for the 1st time is very few steps closer to the true completion of the game. Once you beat Lance, you'll explore Kanto, another region, and plus another 8 gym leaders for you to beat. The game could take months for you to beat. Not only because of 2 regions, not only because of 2 champions, but because...

IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO TRAIN IN THIS GAME!!! Yeah, you heard me right. Training is not easy at all, since wild Pokemon are extremely weak in this game. Because of that, you'll have to spend quite of bit of time to buff up your Pokemon before you face tough opponents. I'll get into that annoyance later. And, yes, I rate depth a solid 10.

Good story... for a Pokemon game: Pokemon games are getting so repetitive these days: 10 year old trainer has to collect 8 gym badges, stop evil team, beat champion, complete pokedex etc... But you may be wondering: Why am I giving this game an 8/10? Well firstly, they're direct sequels of Firered and Leafgreen (HGSS take place 3 years after), and Team Rocket returns with new plans. After you've bested team rocket, there are 918319631836 things left for you to do, such as visiting the Kanto region. Once you do that, you've gotta fix some stuff there (not gonna say what), and once you've completed Kanto, one thing left is for you to do to complete the main story: RED. I think it should get a lower score, but that's just me. 4 down, 2 left.

This game is insanely hard! Honestly soulsilver is one of the hardest games I've ever played. The main reason why is because of the annoying training the game offers. Sadly, wild Pokemon are too weak, and it will take a while for you team to truly buff up. My Dragonair is level 40 now, and I think it would take me 189731836186318 years to reach level 55. Plus Lance isn't very easy (I beat him on my first try thanks to Ice Beam Lapras). Oh, and do you know the best place to train in this game? Mt.Silver. Like, seriously? You can reach this place near the end of the game. The wild Pokemon there are level 42,43... till in the fifties. Gym leaders are pretty hard too, especially Whitney... Oh, and you won't have any trouble figuring out the controls: They're pretty simple, and they're exactly the same as the other Pokemon games.

Addicting indeed! Do you want to know why Pokemon games are so addicting? Total freedom. Once you've beaten the main game, you can do whatever you want. You can complete the Pokedex, do the Battle Frontier, breed, whatever you want! I play this game during my free time to buff up my team, to catch Pokemon, and the Battle Frontier (The Battle Frontier is really fun). Honestly if GTS was still on for this game I would play this game much more frequently...

We have gathered all of the badges, and I think it's time we enter the Hall of Fame. Haha, would you look at that? In the Hall of Fame the champion, Overall, is asking me my overall score of the game. Well...

9.7/10! Soulsilver is a must have game. If you don't buy it you'll regret it, believe me. Walk with your Pokemon, battle, train, trade, breed, and enjoy the newly designed Johto along with Kanto!

Awesome review, green. I have to say you have really improved.

This was really just a fun review, might not have been the most complex but it was definitely fun to read. Don't have any real problems with it.

As for the game itself, I do really like soulsilver as well. It's my second favourite pokemon game.
