I cannot believe it.

I came to this place to get away from annoying popups, now I have had dozens of pop ups come up on Vizzed!

What is going on?

I don't need to be blacked out on screen with a popup for news as I can click it myself.

Please please please please please please please (to the factor of 1000000000000) take off the annoying popups.

What pop UPS are you even talking about? The ad ones or the announcement ones? If its the ad ones, which grow, those have always been there.

I don't think anyone else is having a problem with this. It's possible you may have some viruses on your computer.

If your on about the AD's they've been there for years... If your on about the pop up chat bar... then its for accessibility and you can simply ignore it if you don't want to use it... 


As for the ad's it's keeping vizzed going... its not causing any harm either (mostly, lol dat nsfw ad) Just bear with it and keep calm and carry on.

I've only seen the pop-up chat bar in the chat room itself. Is that supposed to happen, or it should it be anywhere around the site?

Why is it that every thread you make lately is a complaint?
Now Vizzed has annoying pop ups?
What happened to the chat room?
What happened to the Vizzed Layout?
Is the new Vizzed format just a mess?

If you took a look at the news forum, you'd probably get the answer to some of your questions. If you read the announcements, you'd probably also get the answer to some of these.

LunarDarkness2 : It SHOULD be everywhere on the site for Elite+, but it's not on the old site pages at the moment because of CometChat problems. For trusted and below, I believe, you only have access to the chat bar when you're in the chat room.

I haven't had ad blocker on this site for a while and I see NO pop up ads anywhere.... not in the RGR or in the forums. There is an ad in the middle of the main forum page that sometimes gets really big if you leave your cursor on top of it but that requires you to actually do something.

So, Vizzed pretty much doesn't have pop up ads.

Totts : You only  complain .... why you dont pay, why you dont contribute etc etc? Vizzed is free site and instead of being grateful you only complain like children. Shut up and play ! Sorry ( all users)  but this member complains about untrue things.

The only annoying pop up I find is your threads in the new posts.

Davideo7 : Apologies, I am not trying to troll as I think I explained in a previous post., and don't think you were accusing me of this anyway.

My concern is that I have logged on and everything is slightly different and not as good as it was so could have stayed the way it was. The chat room is not as good, but I was told there was a problem with flash? The layout in the original format before the last couple of Upgrades was less cluttered. The pop up is related to the announcements which no one has mentioned or says it happens to them??? It is not an ad that pops up and I don't think it is appropriate to know 'what offended Operah' or 'Ellen' as that is their private business.

Can we go back to the original layout? The font is too small and there is lots of crowded information to read that makes it hard to find anything. I am sorry if people have spent hours working on the site as I explained this is to be no disrespect to them and a big thank you for all their hard work, but it was not broken before I liked the board the way it was, the original chat room and the toon room.

The users on Vizzed were also friendlier then as not so many people were mod officers who now rule with an iron fist on some people and make their user experience low. But that is a different discussion in relation to the site design. Yet they would be the first to comment on my innocent posts of my experience and providing feedback, which other webs would crave for - honest feed backs.

Or maybe we've dealt with all of this before. We've already had the complaints about the layout and now people are used to it. It's not going back to the way it was.

We've already dealt with the chat room issue and there is nothing we can do to fix it.

And our friendliness hasn't changed. What has changed is how much patience we have for your threads.

On my startup page when I hover over the ad it does make sound and stuff, so maybe that's what she's referring to?

Really though if I said what I thought about this thread I'd just be repeating other people, i'm just here to maybe suggest that what I just mentioned was ''the pop-up ad''

I'm hopping into this boat and say that Vizzed does have annoying pop-ups. However, it only happens on mobile, which is even worse because it covers more than what my screen can show.

On a desktop or laptop, I don't find any pop-ups, but I'm also aware that Vizzed for mobile isn't the same as Vizzed for computers, so I guess pop-up ads are the only thing that can generate revenue while mobile. I do admit it's a pain to deal with them, but they don't appear that often (or I'm not online through mobile that much so as to notice) so I can deal with it without major issues.

Just wanted to clear things up a bit, because technically this thread is (partially) right.

They're talking about the "HEY THERE'S A NEW SITE ANNOUNCEMENT" screen that comes up now and requires you to click through it. And while I agree with everyone saying it's not a big deal, I also agree with Totts that it's obnoxious and poor web design (though obviously the design is to drive people to the announcements at the expense of user experience, so it probably succeeds in that respect).

What if I told you all that it was possible to exist within a spectrum of having criticism and complaints (at one end) and being a fanboy who shoots down any opposition angrily (at the other end)?
