Hey everyone!  I was just wondering if anyone here like to partake in tabletop Role Playing Games like I do...And if you do, what systems have you done before and how the adventures you've had turned out for you and the party as a whole!

If i may, what was the idea that it gave your group for the upcoming fight?

Oh thats great!  I love it when players can think of ingenious ways to deal with a tough enemy!

I made my own system for Star Fox on this very site for the longest time. It lasted over a year, had all sorts of evasive maneuvers, a system for tailing, and even ship customization. You weren't limited to flying an Arwing either.

I filled up about six notebooks with maps and weapon stats in my childhood just for my own Pen and Paper RPG, using Paper Mario as a base. It was cool, it was fun. It took place in the same mythical world I use in my own Novel. It's great and I've had many a good number doing that sort of thing.

I just wish I could find a system that didn't use dice but rather had a real time aspect that actually counted. That would be my cup of tea. I still want to make a PC game that does something like that someday.

I look back on my old system and think about it often. I have a heavily modified version in my head that I plan on using, though I've taken a lot of ideas from other systems across the years. I think have a good concept of how I would do it if I were to make that game someday.


So yeah. RPs have been a big part of my life. Even since I was REALLY young.

I'll have to check out that Star fox RP.  And that Paper Mario one you made seems interesting as well, would love to try it out.  As for a system that doesnt use dice, the closest i can think of is a system called Galacticosmic, where instead of flat out telling what your roll is on a check, you instead have to act it out without saying it.  The Galacticosmic system isn't out yet, but a group of Rpers called TheThirdWheel on youtube did a stream of it about 2-3 weeks back.  So you might want to try checking them out.

spenser1151 :   I have played Dungeons and Dragons many times throughout my life, from the first edition to the fourth.  I currently own the fourth edition books, and love playing magic users...if there is a meat shield to protect me that is.  It has been quite a few years since I have had anyone to play with though.  I loved playing with imagination instead of visualization and not knowing what you are going to be up against, and how you can pretty much do whatever you want, where video games are limited to the designers creation.  We should have something like D&D here.  I would play every day

Well one question for ya Belial, have you seen Jojo's bizzare Adventure by chance?
I'm asking because a few friends and I are trying to get a group together to try and run the Jojo RPG.

I have. Currently I play a Warhammer game with friends on roll20. I just started last week and I love it. It's totally fun. My character was a champion, and now she's a Witch Hunter. Me and my team defeated a horde of Skaven, fought a  Darkseer, demon, killed a sealed dragon. It was lots of fun. One person got the black plague and died and lost all his Fate Pts so he had to make a new character, but it was fun overall.

What type of Warhammer?  Is it the future science fiction one or the high fantasy one?
And funnily enough I also am involved with a warhammer RP,  though my group is doing Dark Heresy in the future one. 
Our group is pretty unstable one, we have me(the scum or smooth talker as i like to call it)  an emotionally detached tech priest that cleaved through a man with a rocket propelled staff, and then an assassin who barely ever kills anyone and will not tell us her name, so we decided to refer to her as Nunya Business. 

spenser1151 : I currently am involved in two Pathfinder campaigns at the moment. My group used to play D&D3.5e, but switched to Pathfinder and never looked back. (Those are the only two I have experience in). We play only home brews, so I can't vouch for any of the pre-made campaigns by either system.

As for the adventures, they've been great! I've experienced level 1 characters all the way to the vicious 20th level ones. I have a very experienced DM that leads this all and I'm grateful he's so considerate and creative. In our current adventure, he had us randomly draw names of other people in the group and we get to write their back story without revealing who we have and what we're writing about them. As the campaign progresses, those details are slowly going to be revealed in some way, shape, or form. 

Previous adventures have led our group to defeat an evil Red Dragon and his army. (I Baleful Polymorphed one commander in his army, an ice dragon, who partially saved his DC check and then fled as a half rabbit/dragon, which was hilarious! I had the same spell flung back at my character, who partially saved as well and is now part human/rabbit. We joke that this is the beginning of the Viera from Final Fantasy.) 

Our last campaign had it where I was secretly a lawful evil Aasimar and a follower of Asmodeus (pretty much Satan). Throughout the entire campaign, I tricked the basically neutral aligned group that I was neutral as well. In the end, her plans of getting the feuding kings to each sign a contract with Asmodeus succeeded, so I call that one a win. 

We have a lot of fun and I'm glad the group works/plays so well together.

Something crazy that has happened in a Naruto spinoff of a d20 modern system that i am GM'ing was that the party fought and "beat" the 3rd hokage(otherwise known as the god of shinobi) who was under the effects of edo-tensei(control jutsu for people that are already dead) because he was being controlled by an unknown party.  Then they where attacked by a bunch of mooks(3000) and killed them all in a matter of minutes.  And when they started getting overwhelmed, they escaped on their 110 meter tall fire breathing  pet skeleton named Jerry, who beat was beating the crap out of the sannin( the strongest shinobi, trained by the third hokage) and their summons while they broke themselves out of prison.

Lol nunya business. We're playing a mix of the High Fantasy one and 40k. It's mostly the fantasy one but we have a few high tech things, and lasguns and chain weapons. We also have a tech priest.. Think about FF6. Mostly medieval but also some futuristic things.

That sounds awesome, now all i need to know is how is your party's Sezter, cuz that sounds like it would be amazing to play in. 

spenser1151 :   I have never played, nor even heard of Jojo and their bizarre adventure.  If it is anything like the Dungeons and Dragons tabletops, I call them floor boards cause we always played on the floor, then I would love to get in on that.  I will look up what it is and how you play, but please feel free to enlighten me to the mechanics of the game.

as for the rules, it is based on a system called FATE and a lot of the character abilities are made up by the characters themselves which have to do with the backstories made by them.  they of course have to go through the Gm and not be too overpowered, but the main point is to have fun!
