This is a poem I’ve had on my mind for quite a while now and although I wouldn’t be surprised if people dislike it because it does not conform to most mainstream and popular opinions, I decided to post it even if I’d be walking on thin ice for writing something so controversial. I know I keep saying I’m a newbie Site Staff Member, but that’s because I became a Staff Member within 6 months of registering on Vizzed, which means I can still distinctly recall many of my newbie days. It never ceases to amaze me how people can change over time, newbies, members and Staff Members alike. There are some days when I wonder if perhaps getting promoted isn’t always necessarily a good thing for some people, but then I remember that technically, I’m still a newbie compared to them (and many other “thousand day old newbies”) so of course I can’t claim to understand some of their reasons for doing the things that they do after so many years on Vizzed. This poem is called “I Still Like You” and it’s a reflection of some of my observations and feelings on Vizzed. I know many people don't tend to believe the words of many poems and compositions posted during the TDV because they feel that they were all written solely for the sake of padding the word counts for the TDV, but this poem does contain some of my innermost thoughts, the ones that I can't tell anyone directly to their face. I can only hope that these thoughts will reach the people they are supposed to reach, and that you will understand if this will be the last of these types of poems you'll see from me for a while. ^^ (Disclaimer: All characters appearing in this work are most likely not fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, well, if you dislike the resemblance, may be considered purely coincidental! ^^ )
I liked you before you joined TDVs,
Before you stopped talking to me,
Before you wrote off the newbies.
I liked you before you strove for CPs,
Before you spent all your time,
Trying to nerf each Jersey.
I liked you before you started to spam,
Before you stopped joining chats
And started the rants.
I liked you before you rushed bad reviews,
All those words you misused,
Only served to confuse.
I liked you when you were still a true friend,
And our chats and light banter,
Weren’t a means to an end.
I liked you before you started complaining,
About no new good posts,
And dead threads, none entertaining.
I really like you, and now I want you to know,
It’s okay to be real,
To talk without an ego.
Your days long ago here,
(The memories remain),
You miss them so much that
Your love turned to pain.
You were wise long ago,
A legacy in shadows,
It’s okay to move forward,
To live and let go.
I liked you before- wait, what’s that you say?
You liked me, too, before I became the same way?
Now I see clearly,
The things we should be,
Let’s be free starting now,
Let’s make our own Vizzed history.
-Never the End-
I’ll always like you.
Thank you for reading the poem and I hope you enjoyed it.
