Is it me or. Is 2016 officially when like the best movies of part 2 or even a great one come out?! I was surfing through youtube after watching the trailer for zoolander 2. There is also I know captain America civil war and x-men apocalypse. And then I saw teenage mutant ninja turtles 2?! That wasn't even enough to crack my mind until I saw Independence Day: Resurgence trailer and man oh man....that blew my mind. I really loved independence day since that film was amazing. Most of these movies I have mentioned doesn't come out to either June this year or the summer. I want to know what you guys feel for this as well. Because its like ah! Too many to see! XD

Yeah it seems like every movie that's coming out of Hollywood these days is either a sequel, or a remake.

Jungle Book is another remake that's coming out this year as well as My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, and Finding Dory a couple of sequels. But I know there's even more that we aren't thinking of lol.

Best movie that I've seen this year that wasn't a sequel or remake was Deadpool.

plasticinsanity : I actually saw the trailer like last week. And to be honest I don't really like it so far. I plan on watching it when it comes out. Because I felt that the trailer was a joke in a way. And ruining the old ghostbusters film. :/

Jordanv78 : Yeah! I saw jungle book. And as amazing as this sounds I am sure the movie will come out successfully. The voices match. Bill murray is in the film! What can go wrong with that? It actually looks as if that you are watching the cartoon again. There isn't that many good live action films of an old Disney. And somehow ends up making it into a bad film or the movie sucked, because they took away necessary parts of the story out from it. I am sure jungle book will be a hit. I haven't seen deadpool yet I plan onto when I can. I was never a fan of my big fat greek wedding. I never saw it fully before.

Eniitan : I'm excited for Jungle Book as well! The trailers I saw were awesome! I'm also pretty excited for Finding Dory. Been looking forward to the sequel to Finding Nemo for awhile now!

There were some sequels/remakes coming out this year that I forgot until after I posted my last reply.

John Wick 2 - I enjoyed the first movie. Will be interesting to see if this one matches up.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is out. I haven't even seen the 2nd one so I guess I'm not a good judge.

There's also a new Pee-Wee movie coming out this month!

Superman v Batman is coming out at the end of the month as well. I'm pretty excited for that, and that's technically a sequel.

Eniitan : I'm a fan of Melissa's so I'm really hoping she does the movie justice. I have faith.


I also agree with Jordan on Finding Dory - I'm super stoked for this and cannot wait!

Jordanv78 : I saw some others like that as well I'm very picky with what I like to watch and all. I knew about finding dory some years ago. Not sure how this links with finding nemo but I look forward to seeing that as well. Batman vs superman for me is a no go. XD

Eniitan : I was also hyped by The Peanuts movie, so I'm trying to not get too hyped - Peanuts was great, but I think I had a lot of expectations for it lol.

and YES! I'm excited, but it's also one of my favourite movies so I'm a little hesitant because I feel that it's going to either be great or a major disappointment. 

plasticinsanity : Lol....I don't think I have seen that movie before.....anyways I feel the live action of beauty and the beast as a film will be a disappointment and to flop. I hope they can prove us wrong with that I would really love that. But that won't be the case sadly. :/

Eniitan : Have you seen the new Cinderella live-action movie yet? I haven't, but I expect it to be similar.

plasticinsanity : Yep I loved it. I saw it in the cinema! The film was really great. I enjoyed it a lot. As a matter of fact I have it downloaded onto my laptop. So then I can watch it at anytime I want.

Eniitan : Nice! I'll have to watch it soon. It's on my list (of movies I need to watch) but I've been kinda putting it off because I love disney - and I'm skeptical it can do it justice.

I think this has been true for the last few years. There are very few new ideas that are all that good anymore. I've seen some great movies that are 1 offs that I can't see any relation to any other movie and then there are others that are sequels or prequels or remakes and don't measure up in any way to the earlier/original films.

plasticinsanity : Ok cool! Make sure to tell me when so that I can hear what you liked about the move and such.

geeogree : Yep that's why its kinda sad. and...ghostbusters is one of them. I was like really? I don't want to assume so when the movie comes out I'll see if its good or not. Its most likely it won't be. I don't get today  why some producers want to destroy the former movie that was successful in the past, much less make it an embarrassment. That's what will make people upset about it. :/

Eniitan : I'm with you. I really think the new Ghostbusters will be a disappointment. Nothing is sacred anymore when it comes to media. Anything Hollywood or anyone else can make a buck off of will be done.
As for the The Jungle Book, that movie looks epic. I can't wait to see how they implement the story into live action. And also the "Bear Necessities" song ^^ That and "Hakuna Matata" are my two favorite Disney songs of all time. I'm actually going to listen to them on Youtube now that I thought about it.
I was extremely disappointed in the new Ninja Turtles movie so I'm not expecting much from the sequel. The only good part of that movie was the music sequence in the elevator, which I saw in the very first Trailer that was released :/
Captain America : Civil War is my most anticipated movie right now. I love all the recent Marvel films and I think this one will be spectacular as well. Can't wait to see Iron Man and the Cap'n duke it out hardcore, not to mention all the other heroes that are part of the film.
I haven't seen Batman Vs Superman yet, so I'm looking forward to that, although I've heard very mixed reactions to it.

Mynamescox44 : I'm not even going to bother with ghostbusters. Jungle book have you seen it yet? Please tell me if you can. So I can tell you my thought on it. As for TMNT I LOVED the new trailer for it. It makes sense of how it is and with the links of the previous move. Ok what I don't get personally are the new two villain's I don't think were in the original TMNT in the first place....I got excited when I saw Casey! Captain America civil war I still have not seen as of yet. And batman vs superman I am in no way I am seeing it. But there was this new Disney movie that caught my eye which I think will be amazing! Have a look at the trailer for it when you can. Its called Moana and this movie lol will be coming out on my birthday. More of the reason to see it. XD 

Jordanv78 : Exactly this. I can't call any movie and awesome movie if it is a sequal. Remakes have a chance but they can't capture the magic of the originals because they're aimed at a new generation that doesn't have the same cultural expectations and desires in their films.

The only 'sequal' that is better than the first would be either Godfather 2 or The Empire Strikes Back, if you want to call that a sequel and not the continuation of a saga.

Anyway, I'm glad everyone else is excited about the new movies coming out. Go out and watch them and enjoy the stories and the effects. Have fun!

Eniitan : I remember seeing someone post on FB about the movies that are supposed to be coming out this year, and even some in 2017. I'm mostly excited about the new Independence Day movie and of course Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Also, I've seen the Jungle Book twice...once with my wife, and once with the rest of my family members when I visited NJ. That movie was pretty good, in my opinion. It brought back some good memories of when I used to watch the animated one when I was a kid all the time.
