Celestial, in this context, sending a person capable of doing harm/harrassment to a womens or kids bathroom would be against common sense, that we can all agree on.
The same goes for unfair requests and behavior.

What is getting caught in the cross fire is gender identity.
In example with the context of bathrooms, if peoples experiences result in them being out of place and uncomfortable in a mens or womens bathroom, then if appropriate, that person can use the other one.

What people identify as, is no-one elses buisness and at the end of the day, harmless.
This is not generally understood, as is evident on this thread.

On3On : I get what your saying and agree, what people identify as, is no-one else's business and at the end of the day, harmless, but honestly the individuals anatomy fits with either the man or female restroom regardless of what he thinks in his head, the body is one or the other gender and in this case the individual was a male, his anatomy was male if he had to urinate the male urinal would have been perfectly fine,or the stall our male bathrooms have both, but this individual wouldn't go into either and then complained about not having a gender neutral bathroom.

Oldschool777 : I'm guilty of using the motorized carts at Walmart just for fun not going to lie they are fun to ride on, but I have actually seen alot of over weight people use them and then just walk to the car just fine.

People do use the carts for fun,but you know they are not for that. I mean,I am fat,but at least I walk in,do my business and walk out. The overweight that you mentioned just do it because they are lazy.

On3On :

I really have to protest that one. No way should a guy be allowed to use a woman's bathroom just because he identifies as a woman, or because he claims that the men's bathroom makes him feel uncomfortable.

Unless, I misunderstood what you are saying.

Celestial Knight :

You pretty much said it. I often wonder why I'm still here. But for the first time I like where a few of the threads are going on here. To be honest, my boat is shipped elsewhere and I'm not nearly as invested in this site as I once was. . . but my heart still has a place for it. So long we can have meaningful conversations like this.~

I'm glad that people are finally waking up. I was wondering how long this gender fad would last. Though I think it still has a ways to go. Who knows? Maybe one day people will realize that if everyone's cheering you on for being a rebel. . . maybe you're not so much of a rebel?

Maybe you just made the wrong move and jumped onto the social justice train of deceit, and self praise?

Maybe it's all a load of bull and a person should WANT to have their gender changed?

I dunno. Most people who are willing to talk would say I'm stupid for suggesting that. In fact, enough people to the point you wonder who's the real rebel? The LGBT guy? Or the one making posts on a public thread against all that?

Quite clearly the guy with everyone supporting him. Especially when we all line up like sheep. Security over feelings.

The Black comparison is a good joke, if not an insulting one. Blacks being made into slaves over racial ideas, and perhaps the prospect that they were closer to apes. Something which is not as much of a problem today. (It still exists) But even so, the Black Community had to work hard at getting their freedom.

Homosexuals and Trans people pretty much just jumped on the media train and watched as the rest of the world showered them with sympathy. Oh. . . I know about the hooorible things done to them. (And it is true that they've accepted cruel punishment at times) But it's nothing nearly as bad as what African American's had to deal with. They certainly didn't have to obtain nearly the amount of rights or fight for as hard or as long as Blacks did. And to be honest. . . I hardly find what they were fighting for to be in any way worthy.

Besides! Blacks were discriminated against because of their ancestry! LGBT people are discriminated against because of WHAT THEY DO.

This is a huge difference between the main two groups, and one I really have to stress when people talk about it. I abhor the comparison just because of how blatantly inaccurate it all is. . .but. . at this point I kindof feel like I'm just raging or beating a dead horse.

Sword legion : I'm glad a few threads got you posting again, honestly I think the forums here could use more posters talking about something other than pokemon or one of those joke threads like mix and match usernames or pokemon(yeah I'm going hard on pokemon threads/posts they are rather pointless) but I think there needs to be more posters talking about subjects with a little more depth to them but I don't think I'd want to change my gender lol I just find it incredible stupid when famous people change there gender or when a famous person comes out LBGT they all of a sudden get treated like they cured cancer or did something important to further humanity but the praise they get is just so ridiculous and most of the people that praise them have no praise for real hero's like soilders, doctors, etc. or someone doing something to better humanity.

Oldschool777 : Lazy people bother me as well especially when I see homeless people that look healthier then me walking around begging for money while I'm on my way to actually work for a living.

Sword legion : You took the words right out of my mouth.I mean, almost exactly.

When you choose to take up a lifestyle like this, you have to be aware of everything that come with it.You can't just complain and play the blame game because you were fully aware of the problems that would come up along with it.

Like you said, it's not something like their ancestry, that can't be changed.By definition, you are changing your gender. So telling people to cater to you in every little thing because of something you decided to do, and accusing everyone else of being horrible people because of it is being childish. If your going to do something you should be able to take that everything isn't going to go your way all the time.

Celestial and Sword, even folks with weird gender identities can and do feel the same way about letting men use a womens bathroom.
Common sense and safety and diverse identities are all old as each other.
Both has always existed, it is just that these last few centuries the discrimination towards diverse identities leads to the issues we have now, where it is unclear what is fair or not.

Tell me about it.

You can't even try to help them with their additude or something, because if they don't like what they hear, they snap out or worse.

I mean gee, if you're  gonna be doing something, expect to be critiqued on the internet, otherwise don't post or say it.

People generally get way too offended and take  some of these things far too over , it's just silly.

On3On :

But you just said the opposite above.

"if peoples experiences result in them being out of place and uncomfortable in a mens or womens bathroom, then if appropriate, that person can use the other one."

How do you define the situation in which they want to use the restroom opposite to their gender/sex appropriate? When is it appropriate? I'm finding a hard time when it would be. In fact. . . why does anyone believe someone who feels like they're the opposite gender? I honestly find that extremely crazy to begin with.

Why should be we believe someone who claims to be a "gender" that they weren't born with? What basis is there even for them to say so? Don't teens do enough weird stuff, like wearing diapers, and fapping over pictures online for a lack of decency?

I would have to disagree on it being clear on what's fair, and what isn't. I see a lot of emotional teenagers who can't get their social status and emotions in check, so they do weird things to satisfy their suppressed sexual fetishes, and then they want attention. Perhaps that's not always the case, but I have a hard time believing what they want me to believe.

Maybe we should look at things in a less. . . over complicated context? Perhaps more gender identifications than what the body has already prescribed is unnecessary. Indeed. Just how is it that anyone with a male's sex organs would think that they are a girl? How can that even happen? Some brain condition which is extremely rare? Even then, what needs corrected? The mental condition itself? Or perhaps it's not a condition like has been supposed. Perhaps it is an subconsciously built and stroked upon construct from some other deficiency no longer viewable at the surface, or is purposefully hidden by the said patient in order to justify his conclusion?

Transgender people aren't entitled jerks and they certainly aren't asking for all that much. I think people need to put themselves in the shoes of someone having a LEGITIMATE identity crisis before they start this quotidian diatribe with the usual platitudes. I think the general consensus is that these people are just choosing to be the opposite of their given gender for attention, confusion or as a result of a mental disorder. The problem is, popular consensus doesn't make something right (although in this country, there's not enough critical thinking to go around.) You think these people WANT to come out as gay, trans or otherwise given the amount of bullying and mental anguish that comes with it? Even if we are more tolerant of gays and transgenders, they face disapproval from friends, family, teachers, police and other forms of authority. They are putting themselves in a position to change EVERYTHING regarding their new gender. People need to quit acting like it's so easy. It's not, and you'd know this if you took the time to understand the plight of a transgender instead of using your usual weak arguments about bathrooms and birth genitalia.

The bathroom arguments are mindless: 17 school districts allow trans people to use the restroom of the gender they identify with, and there have been ZERO cases of assault. Know how many cases have been recorded of men dressing up as women to gain access to their restrooms? ZERO. And if they DID do that, they'd be arrested for assault faster than they could blink. There are bigger issues facing you in the bathroom than someone with a weiner coming into a woman's facility, like no toilet paper or a backed-up toilet. It's another excuse to keep denying trans people basic decency based on their idiotic phobias. It's also a violation of the Civil Rights Act to deny transgenders bathroom access based on what they identify with, Look it up; there have been federal rulings.

Transgender people are among the most bullied in this country as well. A study found the amount of sexual assaults against trans people in college is higher than that of women and men, even. This is bullying they know they'll face, but they press on with their transitions anyway because they KNOW WHO THEY REALLY ARE.

I'm not sure why I even wrote this much because I know the usual attitudes will prevail. My hope, however, is that we end the vacuous nonsense we're seeing in this thread and actually take the time to understand what a transgender person goes through. I haven't even begun documenting what they go through in this post. So yes, people are overly-sensitive - overly-sensitive against trans people. And just to clarify, I'm not transgender, I'm just well-informed and tolerant.
