So this thread is 3 days late. I had meant to create a thread on my 5 year anniversary of becoming a member of the site, but things happened and It slipped my mind- Whoops!

Anyways, 5 years has gone by in a blink of an eye. In some ways, it feels like just the other day that I first joined the site after doing a quick google search when I was onsite for a boring convention for work. lol

Soon thereafter I worked hard and made the RGR staff and boosted myself up to local within the first year and I've been a global since March of 2013 now! Going on 3 years straight as global this coming spring!

It's been a great ride and I appreciate each of you for the fun games played against each other in the RGR and for the great conversations and discussions we have had in the forums and the chat rooms! You are all great and I cherish the experiences! I hope that there are many more great years to come with this site! It truly is my favorite site on the web!

Wait, what? 5 years? That's really amazing! Congratulations Jordan, now you are finally a veteran! To be honest, it feels like that you've been here much longer than that. Just look at what you accomplished on Vizzed! A lot more than almost all users here. You definitely should celebrate this with Pringles, Mudkip happily shares them with you.

I hope you reach the six years (and maybe even ten years) as well!

5 years already? Woo boy! I thought you've been on this website for more than 5 years. Like some people already said, you've accomplished a lot in 5 years. I'm impressed and sincerely admire your dedication for the website. Happy 5 years on Vizzed anniversary and high five Jordan!

supernerd117 : Thanks man! I figured I should have already been at 10k posts awhile ago, but in my first year or so on the site I spent almost ALL of my time in the RGR. Heck I have almost 60,000 CP's when for the first few years of being staff, CP's didn't even exist at the time. lol I wonder how many more I'd have if they were counted.

I'm not a huge fan of HFCS or very sugary things that much anymore, so I would prefer to do without ;-)

Sorry for the late reply, was sleeping...anyways. So 5 years Jordan? My that is certainly a huge accomplishment. You have as tornado said joined with the other vegan members which is not always reachable. As people tend to leave early or at 3 years. So congrats dear friend. Sorry I don't really have much more to say when I usually do. I still remember meeting you hearing rumors about you in the past when I didn't know you that much back then. I am glad to be one of your friends of today now so thank you. I hope that you get to stay on for many more years to come.

I know, it's crazy that it's been 5 years, but in other ways feels like it's been much longer! I also find it crazy that I've been a Global for longer than the average user is active on this site lol. I've seen a lot of things and seen the site go through a lot of different phases since! I wouldn't trade it in for the world!

Look who became a veteran!

Five years is an impressive milestone. There aren't many active members that stay for that long, even less with the activity level you demonstrate everyday and how much you contribute to the site with your varied roles and the varied ranks you have held through your time in here.

Congratulations, Jordan! Here's hoping that we will see another milestone thread from you before the year is over commemorating 10k posts. Keep it up, you're loyalty and dedication are really inspirational for all members.

Congrats! Time sure flies by quickly (I am almost 3 years in myself). I hope you stay active for a long time; I love our interactions of the forums.

5 years is an amazing accomplishment but what's even more amazing is that you've been staff for as long as you have. Congrats and thanks for all that you do for the site and its community

EX Palen : Thanks man! You've been a great friend on the site and I appreciate the kind words. Honestly although there have been some trials and tests along the way, I wouldn't trade my time here as staff for anything. It's going to be a stretch, but I'm hoping that at my current average activity level on the forums (Around 260 posts per month) I should be able to have 10,000 before New Years day, 2016. Something to shoot for anyways!

I was trying to go through some of the old threads to see when exactly I was promoted to each position, in the end I determined that I've been some sort of staff for like 90+% of my time spent here and more than half of that time as a Global. It is certainly my pleasure to try to help make this great site the best it can be. I plan to try to be around for as long as this site is up and running and doing what it does! Thanks for supporting me and allowing me to be such a big part of it!

Eh, seems I'm kinda late to the party. Welp, even if it's cliche... better late than never.

Congrats man, it's amazing to see someone that has been around this long and remained as active as you have been throughout the majority of this time. Even though we haven't really talked lately (mostly because I've been absent due to IRL stuff) and while it's also true we weren't actually very close to each other even back when I was still very active, I still have a lot of consideration towards you and a few others on this site. I truly miss chatting and netplaying with you and everyone else.

I'm looking forward to see what the future holds, hopefully I'll be able to stabilize my life a bit and make a comeback to the site. I also hope I can figure out a way to switch to a different ISP and fix the netplay issues I have so that maybe we can netplay again in the future.

Nonetheless, I wish all the best for you in the future. Stay awesome!

mvhupsel : Thanks! It's ALMOST always better late than never. In this instance it's just good to hear from you no matter when it is! I truly do miss our days of long netplay runs of Nightmare on Elm Street and games like that. Those early days of me, you, crybaby and sometimes David playing netplay games for hours were fun. Hopefully things will calm down on your end a little bit and we will be able to again soon!

Do you have any other kinds of goals that you would like to reach before then that aren't staff related? Like a mark that you want to reach for posts, or whatever?

zanderlex : The only specific goals I have right now are to keep doing whatever I can to help the site. Maybe someday that means being admin, or maybe it just means staying Global for as long as this site needs me. Whatever Vizzed needs, I will try to do whatever I can to help.

As far as specific numbers go, I hope to be able to hit 10,000 posts by the end of December. Which at my current monthly posting average, shouldn't be a problem. I'm also sort of hoping to be able to get 60,000cp by then as well.

Wow. Although I've not interacted with you much (if any). But that's not required for this to be impressive. I've only been a member for 3 years and 13 days. I remember that before I joined I didn't even know you could play the games on Vizzed. But I still knew about it. In any case, time does fly, yes. And it's even more astonishing how you've been part of the staff for such a long time, which is more than half of your total duration of membership on the site. So congratulations, I'm sure you've done so many things to help the site and the community.

That's awesome that you've been around for 5 years and have spent the vast majority as staff. You're one of the few (like me) to have done that. Actually, you've probably spent a higher percentage of your time as staff.

Still, glad that you've stuck it out with everything that has gone on. It's been a bit of a ride these last few years. Lots of change and what not.

No idea if Vizzed will be around for another 5 years but I expect I'll probably still be here in some capacity

I would've replied to this much sooner, but I just found this thread. Anyways, congrats on reaching 5 years with the site. It's quite impressive to see what you've accomplished in your time here. I hope that these next 5 years will be as great as your first 5 have been.
