Walking Dead Episode 3

Now we're back to Rick's group and the noise. So, half the horde followed the noise and half the horde is going back to Alexandria. At least it is only half. Still, half of that horde is likely to overwhelm the walls. Also, as much as everyone doesn't like Rick is is almost always right. He is doing what needs to be done and a lot of other people are afraid to do or say those things.

I'm torn as to whether or not I want this entire group to survive. Some of them seem pretty useless. That guy is totally dead. The one that didn't advance with the rest. What a moron. He shoots one of the group and then runs away. He's so dead. At least that guy isn't bit I don't think. Just shot. He should be able to survive that. Uh oh, big dude got bit. Taking out the weak group members.

Daryl is going to sneak off I know it. He wants to go back and fight. This mission for him isn't enough. He's a fighter. I guess he didn't sneak off since he told them and everything but you knew that was coming.

Big dude is gonna turn. Sucks to be him but at least he is being good about it. Some people get bit and they go crazy and do something stupid. He's at last being useful. Of course now that he is dying we get his backstory . Sweet story I guess.

Where are they now? Some small gas station town. Bandage the guy up and get moving! Quit wasting time. Uh oh, this black guy is gonna get the white guy back for his screw ups. I kind of liked that last shot of the group. The three people most likely to turn right now were all limping or bleeding. Well, that guy is dead now. Sucks to be him but he gets what he deserved for running off on his own like that. Now they're getting boxed in. Why are they going into a building? So dumb! Looks like a pet shop. So stupid! You should keep moving. The horde is going to catch up and attack. Oh, they haven't patched anyone up yet. That makes a bit more sense now.

I like Glen's idea. Burn buildings in a town far enough away and the horde gets distracted and stays. Seems like a solid plan.

Run Rick Run! Very nice kills by Rick. Obviously not surprised but still that's the way it should be done.

Finally bandaged the guy and girl up. And now they are saying they want to be left behind. He overheard Rick and thinks Michone will leave group members behind. I don't think Michone took it that way. She would save people if it is possible. Michone is badass! Very nice speech. So many people they have run in to think they understand what it is like to be out there all the time but her group knows. They've slept outside in the trees without any protection knowing at any moment they could be attacked. People sleeping in houses behind walls don't understand.

Ouch, having to kill a member of your group that you left behind. That's got to be rough. At least he did it. Better that he was tough enough to do that than not.

I like that they are crossing the episodes over like this. The gunfire from Carol is attracting nearby walkers. Makes sense.

Go Rick Go! I think he cut his hand fighting those 3 walkers. I wonder if that will mean anything or if he simply cut his hand. I imagine it would matter but it's hard to know for sure.

Ouch, writing the note to your wife thinking you won't make it home. That's rough. Also, now they are stuck.... holy crap the horde is there! I knew they shouldn't have waited!!!! Such a bad idea. RUN RUN RUN! The girl is done. They couldn't have saved her if they tried and likely more of them would have died trying. Getting over the gate is a good idea if they all make it. Shoot some! Idiot. I guess he's dead anyway but he should have shot some while they were coming. Slow a few of them down or something.

Whoa, Nicholas and Glen are screwed. This is intense. They don't stand a chance.

There you guy black guy! Shoot them! The big dude is done for. He was dead already so it's not a big loss. Maybe the shotgun is a loss but that's it. And the note is lost. Move people! You can't stay there.

Whoa... how do you survive something like this? Stuck on top of a garbage truck with no way out. Nicholas is turning spacing out again. That would be terrifying. Whoa! NO WAY! Glen is dead? I can't believe they killed Glen. I mean, it wouldn't really make sense for him to get away but I still can't believe it. He's been around for so long! And Maggie is likely never going to know it happened. That's so rough.

Uh oh, now a river to cross. That's no good. I guess it's more of a creek than a river like Michone said. Still, not a great thing to have to go through.

Rick isn't going to get a response from Glen. Most of that group he left behind is dead. Most of the people that went as part of his plan are dead. As much as I think Rick did the right thing the other people were right.... he gets a lot of people killed. Of course nearly all of them are the type that likely would die after any time outside of the walls anyway.

Whoa! Who was that? What is going on. Holy crap! He just offed those guys in a heartbeat. The guy had baby food in his pocket. That's tough. Wow! Rick is ice cold. I can't believe he just killed them without even really getting more than a 2 second look at them.

Daryl is back with the car. Glad to see he went back. Still this isn't over. The 2nd horde is still on its way and he can hear them coming. Run Rick! Leave the vehicle and lead them on foot.... or end the episode right there!

WOW! That episode was super intense. All 3 so far have been this intense. I can't believe Glen is dead. He was around for so long and now he's not. I kind of hope he gets to come back for 1 episode as a walker so Maggie gets closure.

Still, it's not over yet. That 2nd horde is still on the move and nothing so far has gotten it going in the right direction. I knew when he turned the vehicle off that it wasn't going to start when he needed it to. That's so cliche it isn't really funny anymore

Glenn escaped down a manhole cover that was underneath the dumpster. Those were the crazy dude's guts getting eaten. Somehow? Anyways it was great except for Darryl basically just driving around the whole time. How's Rick get out of this now though.....? And why didn't someone just kill note-writing guy while he was up against the fence in agony being gnawed on? They all just watched.

Yeah, Rick is basically screwed at first glance. There is a chance if he is quiet enough that the horde will pass by. Or he'll shut the door and try to start it up again and lead them off. I see that as the most likely thing.

Also, the big guy on the fence getting squished should have been offed by the group. Even a knife to the head would have been nicer than what he went through.

And Glen is dead. No amount of wishing or hoping is going to change that. It sucks cause I really liked Glen but it's over for him.

geeogree : What was he thinking bringing that piece of garbage Nick along? Ugh. Sorry. Guess he can't get anyone else killed now unless he comes back as a walker and gets someone. That wouldn't surprise me really. Jerk-head.

Episode 4

Oh, are we going to get his backstory now? Interesting. I know he's been following Rick for a while but I'm curious how he gets there.


Strange. Wonder what the point of the fire is. Oh neat. One crawled out of the fire.... or walked through it. Still, not sure what the point of that was. It's obviously working since he survived but I don't see what it accomplished.

Whoa! So he didn't have a problem killing people before. I imagine we're going to find out what changed. That was pretty brutal though. No hesitation. I guess you would have to be that tough in order to survive.

The spikes make sense but the rest of the it doesn't. What's with the blood and the he's not here messages? Is he looking for Rick at this point maybe?

That's a nice meadow. Pretty stark difference to a lot of the other shots in the show this year. Is that actually a sheep or a goat? Oh, nice catch on the cans. Don't want to get caught walking through that and making noise. Yup, a goat. And houses with solar panels. Wow, again no hesitation on the shooting. Doesn't seem right when he showed up on their land.

Haha, my name is "Kill me". That was funny. Until he started yelling it. This explains it then. His staff as a weapon and his ideology of not killing anyone but walkers. It seems like a safe method to kill walkers though. Easier than trying to get close enough to stop with a knife.

Interesting. Morgan is about to get analyzed by this guy. I hope this conversation is interesting. Not overly interesting I guess. Morgan says he kills people. Anything or anyone that gets in his way. Not much to it. Oh, here it goes. Interesting. Humans aren't built to kill. I like that. We are terrible at it without something else to aid us. Naturally we don't kill very well. Awesome. The door was open the whole time.

What a fool. Trying to attack a guy who is obviously armed and trained. Still, he is getting the better of him right now. Hrm, I wonder if losing the fight will be enough to change him. As if each time he won it reinforced his desire to kill.

"Fixed your spear". I like that.

Whoa. The story this guy told is unreal. I'm sure something like that has happened before but to hear it told like this is crazy.

Idiot! Way to get yourself killed buddy. You got bit and now you're done for. Even if you beat up Morgan.

Now it seems like he's losing it again. Although he did just save those 2 people. They look like they are teenagers. And she thanked him for it. He has his purpose now. Awwww, the goat is dead . That's sad. I wonder if Morgan is going to bury this guy too.

Whoa, he actually got the guy back to his cabin. That's not good. Wow, 47 days to starve to death. Crazy. Still, that guy doesn't have long.

This episode has been really interesting. Not high on the action or the suspense but it has been interesting. Nice to see what happened to Morgan on his journey from where we saw him last until his change in attitude. Most of the rest of the story can be pieced together I imagine. Based on the last thing you see him do at the railroad tracks. He followed Rick's group to Terminus obviously.

Who is he talking to? He's obviously injured but it wasn't clear if it was a bite or a cut. Wow this guy is crazy. Whoever is leading these guys is whacko scary. Can't imagine how he gets people to be this extreme. Well, I can actually but I don't really want to think about it or what it means for Alexandria.

Just watched Episode 5. I lost my write up for it so I won't say much beyond it is basically a wrap-up episode of a lot of what has been going on in the first 4. Not tons got resolved but it was an episode that needed to happen in order to keep the story going. It was a breath between the last few crazy episodes and whatever is coming next.

There is enough going on every single time to keep you wanting more.

Episode 6 - spoilers for sure - if you haven't watched this episode I would recommend not reading this.

I actually like how little time has actually passed during these episodes. It has all happened in basically the same amount of time that the episodes have taken.

Whoa! Taking fire within 20 seconds of the episode starting. This isn't good. They turned around and messed those guys up though. Still, now it seems like Daryl and the other 2 are a bit lost. Going to be tougher finding their way back with people chasing them. Uh oh, it looks like Daryl got shot. What....? Dead person with a helmet on but maybe not dead?

Strange, Daryl seems okay. He must be in order to be pushing his bike through the forest. That can't be easy. Yup, hit somewhere on his left arm. I knew he had to be. Ouch. Tricked by the girls. Now Daryl is a prisoner. Oh gross, burnt zombies still moving. I'm assuming this guy means he thinks Daryl is one of the W guys. Nice, Daryl is gone. Still can't get a hold of Sasha or Abraham though. That's not good. Still, at least he's not a prisoner anymore. And now he has his weapon back. Daryl is in business. Oh crap. Insulin. That's not good.

Sasha and Abraham are still alive too which is good. I agree with them that the ambush makes no sense. They weren't waiting to ambush Sasha and Abraham and Daryl. I wonder if they are in the same town that Glenn ended up in. I'm not really clear on what Sasha and Abraham are talking about. They seem to be arguing but I'm not really sure why. Sasha seems "better" though. Like she has come to terms with her life.

What the heck is going on? Who is that? Daryl is helping them. I'm a bit surprised but not at the same time. Wade.... wow, this guy is willing to lose an arm to survive. That's rough. I still want to see who this Wade guy is.

Nice! Bazooka zombie! That's pretty awesome. And ammo! That seems to be making Abraham's day. And cigars. Uh oh.... he put his gun down. That seems ominous. Just stab the thing in the head and then go for the bazooka. Or, scream at it! That was pretty gross. Still, getting it now should be pretty simple. Wait wait wait.... Abraham just hit on Sasha? It also looks like it might have worked. Interesting.

Back to Daryl and his new little group and they just found a burned down house and I'm waiting for the dead bodies to attack and look at that! Guess the girl needing the insulin is no longer a problem. Wow, did they actually just screw him over in the end after what he did to help them? That's low. They'd all be dead by now if it weren't for Daryl. Oh good, back to the gross helmet body thing. At least it looks like Daryl has transport now.

Whoa, Abraham in uniform. He looks pretty silly. Yay, they are all back together again. I think that was Glenn! I realize they never showed him ACTUALLY dying but it seemed pretty clear that he was done for. Still, I don't care how they manage to save him if they manage it. Losing Glenn a few episodes earlier was a shock I was not expecting. I guess we'll have to wait and see until next week.

Episode 7

So Glenn survived. Part of me is happy and part of me is annoyed. I hate when characters "die" in movies or TV shows only to survive in some crazy way or come back because of "magic" or something. Still, I'm happy he is alive because of Maggie and the fact that he is a father to be. And the way he survived was awesome. Whoa, Enid? I'm glad Glenn has someone to help him but I see her more likely to get him hurt or killed than actually be helpful in the long run. Still, 2 are better than 1 to survive. Looks like she has been hiding there for a few days now. Multiple things she has opened and eaten. The tension in this scene for Glenn is rough. Enid won't answer him about Maggie. That sucks for Glenn. Obviously we know she is okay but for him to not know must be tough.

And there is Maggie standing up on the wall watching for a sign from Glenn. Rick is right about finding a way to clear the walkers. That needs to happen so that everyone can get back safely.

Gross! The eyeball stuck to the fence gate. Look behind you! Oh good, nothing got him from behind. He just sat there for so long it was making me nervous.

Father Gabriel is putting up prayer signs and Rick walked by and tore them down. What a jerk. Showing the kid how to shoot. This kid is making me nervous. I still think he has a grudge but I'm waiting to see how it plays out.

Rick and Morgan talking - and Carol, and Michonne - I've been waiting for this to go down. Interesting. Not much was really said but at least he is being held accountable for what he did.

Wow that scared me. Glenn grabbing Enid actually made me jump. Wow, didn't see the gun coming out. She's too close to him. Yeah. Didn't even have to go fast to grab that gun.

Uhm, those balloons would not be like that unless someone had JUST done that.

I knew it! He is up to something. That kid is going to end up killing someone.

And Glenn sees the horde. And Enid panics and tries to run.

What is that guy doing? Is he trying to escape or what? That hook isn't going to hold. He's going to fall. This won't end well. Wow, he might actually get away. I'm a little shocked at this one. I was expecting him to die... well, he might still die. Nah, he survived. He made an interesting point to Rick about asking whether or not his idea would even be listened to.

Interesting. Carol noticed Morgan and the doctor heading out together. That can't end well.

And here is the confrontation - that kid now has bullets and he is going after Carl.

And there are the balloons. Oh crap.... there goes the wall! What a way to end the episode. So much for Alexandria.

Totally agree with you on Glenn, And I thought the exact same thing about the balloons. How long do they last? A day? Maybe 2? Next episode is going to be a blood bath I think.

Ferdinand : next episode has to be a blood bath. With the church steeple falling on to the wall there isn't much choice anymore. However, that doesn't mean 1,000 zombies through the wall if they do it right. I would actually suggest they send people out through the new opening and get attention going outside of the wall but that might not happen.

Still, I think next week's episode is going to be intense. I believe it is the mid-season finale so it should be pretty good.

Episode 8

Of course the episode doesn't start with the church falling on to the wall. It has to start in a random place that doesn't make a ton of sense. Oh gross, ants all over the cookie. I love how I watch a zombie show but the ants are gross


And there goes the church again. I like the new shot of it. And here comes the horde! I'm watching this and I have no idea what to suggest they do to survive. Holy crap Maggie! Wow. I'm actually surprised that no one has died yet. Though lots of people have come close. Again, I seriously don't know what you do about this.

Too much is happening too fast to say anything.

I knew that kid was going to be trouble. Now you've made what was a safe place into a death trap.

I hate when they use kids like that... don't make me believe that someone is eating that baby.

Seriously. Too much going on to talk about it all. I'm going to be shocked if everyone gets out of here alive. The next question becomes even if they survive where do they go from here?

So gross. Gutting the zombies to cover their scent.

Carol vs Morgan. Very interesting.

Also, Deanna looks terrible. They did a good job of making her look all grey.

That kid is totally going to die.

I can't even believe what they are about to do. I feel sick watching them walk through that group.

Wow, I didn't write much about this episode. That probably means it was really good. At least I think it was. I really enjoyed this one. The tension was high nearly the entire time.

Episode 9

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY It's BACK! I'm so excited!

Interesting - I wonder who this group is and who their leader is. This guy does seem a bit crazy.... WHOA! WTF just happened.... OH yeah! The rocket lanucher. Holy crap. That was insane. Seriously.... Still doesn't explain anything about whatever group he came from.

Looks like we're cutting back to Rick's group. I still can't believe they are walking through the horde the way they are. This is insane. I'm saying insane a lot. I can't imagine doing this though after living in this world as much as they have. And what happens when one of them realizes that they are still alive and starts attacking. Don't give him the baby.... don't do it. That is a terrible idea. Seriously bad idea! I really don't like this idea.

Glenn is at the church which means that the priest dude will meet up with them (or get stuck outside).

I can't remember half the names of people anymore. And there are too many cuts around from different groups to keep up with things. Still, the tension of everything going on is pretty crazy.


Oh goody. Now it's nighttime. That came on suddenly . I'm still waiting for that kid to do something stupid. Oh, the youngest kid is doing something stupid. I was waiting for the teen to do something stupid. WHOA! Kid is dead. I'm so tense right now. And there goes the mom! Wow! They're killing people off all over the place now. Teen kid has the gun. I was waiting for this moment. Whoa! Holy crap! CARL! This episode just got crazy. 3 people down and Carl took a bullet to the face.

YES! Crazy guy got bit! He deserved that one. And crazy guy is dead.

They got Carl to the doctor. He took a bullet to the face! I can't see him surviving that. At least not with what medical ability they have right now. Uh oh, Rick is going outside. At least the rest of the group is going to help him. At least with 3 or 4 people together they can watch each others backs and do better at staying alive. Wow. People are coming out of their houses and fighting. This is actually really awesome.

I'm really impressed that the entire town that is left has banded together to fight. This is what they should have all along.

Yay Glenn! I think this is the first time Maggie has seen Glenn. YES YES YES! Abaraham is back! Mowing them down now!

And I think the groups are starting to make their way to each other which is good. Get everyone together and keep them safe. Uh oh, I bet that is gas! Still so nice to see the group back together finally. The entire first half of the season seems to be 5 separate groups until now they finally are one cohesive group that is on the same side. And it also seems like they stand a chance at saving the town.

This is a pretty epic ending to the episode. I'm actually impressed that rather than run they fought to keep their town. Much more impressive to me. In spite of the losses they suffered they likely would have lost more by running than by staying and fighting. Small groups wouldn't last as long as big groups. YES! Carl is alive! I wasn't sure if he was based on how Rick was talking but it was pretty sweet that he survived. Not sure what that means for Carl but I'm happy about that.

This was a crazy episode for sure. Great way to get the 2nd half of the season going.

Episode 10

This episode was a lot slower than the previous ones. Can't have everything be as up tempo as the recent ones.

Seems like a couple weeks have gone by since the last episode and things are starting to be rebuilt and life is going back to normal.

The new character is interesting. I didn't read the comic so I don't know who he is yet but the fact that he took on Rick and Daryl by himself and did a good job of it is impressive. I hope he joins the group and helps them cause he seems really self-reliant and could replace someone if they wanted to kill off a main character.

Overall the episode was good, just slow. It's probably leading into whatever is going to happen going forward in this season.

I haven't watched the show since the break, really need to catch up on those two last ones. Just got my walking dead/deadpool lootcrate 2 days ago so I'm a bit excited to get back into it

zanderlex : I really really do. There are several shows that I like to talk about that very few others even bother replying to. I really wish more people who watched the shows would take the time to respond. It would make this much more enjoyable.

I must say, this has been an amazing season. It has really been going off with a bang. I'm really wanting to what they are going to do with the Jesus guy, and how Carol is going to get by with one eye. Guess we will have to wait for Sunday.

Droog : I agree. This season has been really intense and exciting. This was the first episode that I feel really lagged. However, I'm not surprised like I said. It is probably building towards the 2nd half of the seasons storyline.

Carl seems to be doing alright with just 1 eye but I think it will affect his aim. We'll see how that goes though.

How have I not found this thread sooner?

I absolutely adore the second half of the season so far. Everyone is getting more and more relaxed and comfortable, which is really awesome (especially considering how brutal the first episode back was, and how brutal it will be later this season), and I'm loving that the directors are taking the opportunity to delve back into character relationships, rather than just focusing on the craziness that's been going on.

mrfe : I think you had found it earlier... but maybe that was the other walking dead series that we talked in. Either way glad to have you here.

I do like that there is some more relationship work going on. People aren't just zombie fighters but actual people that are in a really screwed up world and trying to figure things out.

I also left out the ending cause I didn't want to spoil it for anyone. The ending wasn't a shock to me because I expected it for a while but part of me is glad it happened.
