yo, Pikachi here again, here today with something a bit fresher than usual -
A Sonic 1 romhack.

I've been hacking Sonic 1 for quite some time now, and I've never really gotten that far with it but me and my two brothers decided to do a little collab hack (despite one of them knowing nothing about Sonic 1 hacking) and work together.
Currently, we are working on the design of the first level, ASM and sprites. We've only ported the spindash and removed the speedcap on ground and air, what we're planning is a walljump and maybe a super-peelout.

There is a video uploaded on our channel, however it is extremely low quality and the game is full of bugs and workarounds to currently impossible platforming that all look as ugly as potato. However, the hack is coming along smoothly. I mainly made this thread so we can recieve ideas for feedback and possibly future updates.


also, completely unrelated, I was working on a mini sprite-swap hack that changed all of Sonic's sprites and movement to a bit more megaman styled along with some custom spritework. I only actually made the jump sprite though, and wasn't planning to add shooting.

Nice, Nice. And I think you should keep that zone name, I love it. Megaman-like sprites sounds interesting, can't wait to see what happens with this. Also I think there is something horribly wrong with your layout, "~Pikaci~" was covering the second post.

I like it so far. I wouldn't mind playing it once you are done with the hack game pika. I also agree keep that name because it looks like a morning over there. Keep it up! I am sure it will turn out amazing as soon as you guys are done with the game.

Eniitan : Thankies ~ however, I'm not fond of the name atm because I don't really feel it's all that creative. I want it to stand out from the rest of the hacks on SSRG... which will be extremely hard considering a few hackers there are well versed in hacking enough to create their own games. *cough*markeyjester*cough*.
