Does anybody have any ideas? 

Or should we change it back to The Streamers Forum, but make it where it covers all YouTube creations and Streaming? 

What. Didn't you say you spent like, 45k Viz changing the name and all that kind of stuff? And you've already given up on it? It doesn't seem like you really know what to do with it at all.

You can do multiple things-
1. Stay with the idea of The Land of Thing, and just elaborate on it
2. Change it back to the streamers forum (not much promise) 
3. Think of more ideas 
4. Sell it

I would recommend number 1, just seeing how this plays out and seeing where there is interest. 

Barathemos : Eh, I wanted a change because of lack of activity. I think what I want this forum now to be is like the Misc. forum, where you put threads when they don't really fit anywhere else. 

thing1 : Just to let you know, there are already those.

For video games there are 3 forums. 

For everything else, there is general chat, with the actual description of "Anything that doesn't belong in other forums" 

So I don't think you'll get much activity if it is just like those. 

You should change it in the ATTN forum, where everyone can get the ATTN they deserve

Joking aside, it's your forum. The land of thing. If you don't know how to make it weird and fun, what's the point of having it. 
Think of unique and funny threads that most of the active users will enjoy. That's probably the best way to make this forum successful.  

Or you could go back to the stream forum and solely focus on that. Not sure how good of an option that would be.

Furret : Sadly furret, no one can think of funny threads everyone will enjoy like I can.

But some people may be able to be half as creative as I have been  

And with the ATTN, don't get anything started, but that would be an awesome forum

And thing, just find something that you and other users are interested in, and make the forum that. That's always how you have a successful forum. And also know, not every forum is going to be as active as forums such as IT and things like that, but a forum can still be successful with only a few posts a day/week.

Unfortunately, this forum was far more active before the change. Viz wasted. You find yourself backed in to the corner, I see. I would change it back.

IT is bigger than some actual forums on the site like Stories/Simulation/Art, Web Splurge, Video Game Franchises, Sports, Music, Television, Movies, Debate... and we're only 5,000 posts behind Cafe Corner.

IT is the exception to the rented forum mold, not the rule.

With regards to what that means for THIS forum... you are absolutely right.

If that thing you like doing is streaming, then do that! It doesn't need to have 20,000 posts in it to be successful, it just needs to lead to you and the people you made it for having fun.

When IT started, we just wanted a fun place to host our Mafia games where we could maintain local mod power so we could enforce the rules and edit posts, even once we left the Vizzed Mod Group (because we knew we wouldn't be there forever). We never envisioned it becoming the largest rented forum on the site, and we certainly didn't plan on making it that way.

It just started as a fun idea to keep myself, the_casualty, and our dozen or so close friends entertained in a clubhouse of sorts that was open to the public.

The public embraced the idea, so it ended up being successful (though to the extreme, obviously).

thing, if your goal is to just have a successful forum, then you should probably just trash this forum altogether. You will not find the result you are probably seeking, and just make yourself more miserable than if you just focus on the things you enjoy doing, and go from there.

In IT's case, even had the forum not been as largely successful, and only had a few posts a week, we'd be happy, because we're focusing on what we like, Mafia, NDND, Murder Mystery, and just random threads where we post satire and comedy. We like those things, so it's easy to have fun, even if it's not 100% successful.

In your case, it does appear as if streaming is what you like to do. So you should probably just do that. And probably change your name from "The Land of Thing" honestly. It's rather narcissistic, and will probably just push people away, rather than encourage them to participate. I don't think IT would be nearly as successful if I called it "Leggy Land" (although maybe it would be).
