Hello, everybody, and today, I would like to bring you Together for yet another in depth Sonic fan theory, as part two of the Shadow Trilogy, for our little Sonic Fan Group. And today?
We're talking about two games that came out after the Dreamcast bombed and Sonic had to find new land. Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog. All in addressing the creation, of a duplicate even darker than Metal Sonic- The Shadow Android. Okay. Let's get going! Sonic Heroes introduced a number of elements that would reappear in later Sonic games. But one of these elements was not a mere gameplay mechanic. But a story one. In both Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog, the player meets a series of Androids. Thousands, and thousands of them at the end of Team Dark's Story in Sonic Heroes, and more active ones during the events of Shadow the Hedgehog. In some endings, Shadow even decides he's just another copy. Others he simply doesn't care. But one nagging question may come up - if one thinks about it long enough. Why are there only Shadow Androids? Like. . . Why not Sonic Clones? Thousands of them? Why doesn't the doctor merely clone his greatest rival, and then overwhelm him with sheer. . . powerful, and numbers? The answer I would propose to you is this: He can't. There must be a reason that Dr. Eggman is only able to make Shadow Androids- and it isn't just a plot device. If Eggman could copy Sonic, and make him evil, we know he would. Look at Metal Sonic after all. There has to be a logical explanation for all this. So, building up from ground logic, let's take what we know about Dr. Eggman. And his information/available resources regarding such an ambitious project. 1. He's already shown that he's only willing, or only limited to Shadow Androids. 2. He has had access to the Space colony ARK data in Sonic Adventure 2. 3. The true ending of Shadow the Hedgehog has Eggman reveal that Shadow himself is not a clone, he merely sent a robot down to save Shadow as he fell to the Earth and put him in a capsule. 4. The Shadow androids first appeared in Sonic Heroes. However, during this time. Metal Sonic was in control. . . Now, Metal Sonic has a special metamorphic ability, and can copy other character's skills, even gaining the power of Chaos Control. He turns into a metal colored liquid which can reshape itself into any form he wants, within a certain size constraints. This technology is never reused by any other creature or character within the Sonic series. Although only a minor note, if this technology can read DNA, and duplicate it, this might have been a small part of the Shadow Android project. Now, since there are only Shadow Androids, I'm going to suggest that Dr. Robotnik did not make the device used to create Shadow Android clones. Rather, he stole and modified a device that was already created for the purpose of making Shadow, the ultimate life form. And where would he find that? Aboard the Space Colon ARK. Even after 50 years of being shut down. The space colony still works relatively well. It's beaming with energy and the lights aren't even that worn out. Dr. Robotnik was able to revive the entire G.U.N. security system inside, (making it even harder for Sonic to invade) and got Artificial Chaos drones to float throughout the chambers on guard. I bet Dr. Eggman did a lot of research and ran around checking all sorts of things aboard the ARK, trying to get the space station in full operation again. Then, he would find it. The original creation chamber made for Shadow the Hedgehog! Old, and slightly worn down, Eggman might have to dust it off a little, but the data would still be there, if he fixed this machine (without ruining it) he could recreate as many clones as he would want! Of course, Eggman may have been surprised by Shadow at first, but upon discovering the ARK's records. . . extensive research between the time of SA2 and Heroes. . . indeed. .. the perfect lie was about to be proposed. And how could Metal Sonic not utilize such a devious scheme not already simmering in the pot? Make Shadow beleive he is a copy, crush his heart and destroy his soul! The very will to survive! Eggman tried to make the perfect copy, but the machinery was more out of shape than he had though. Plus artificial biology was something he never really studied or could understand. He had to When I listened to the theme of Team Dark, and whenever it came to the line. "And we all danced in fire, trapped in this machine." I saw something in my head like Omega being used to test- and destroy several Shadow Android clones. Again and again and again. After all, as the song repeats afterward. "Don't know how long we've waited." Omega was built as the solution to Shadow. Robotnik would test him against several Shadow Androids again and again, and again. Omega would defeat the inferior ones, and the ones that bested Omega (rarely) would serve to show Robotnik what he was doing wrong. Omega would be improved, and better android would be built. This why Omega fires up Shadow when he is awaken even though Shadow- as an android would be on the Dr.'s side. Or, it could be because, the androids are unstable with their memories. Speaking of which, were did Dr. Robotnik get Shadow's memories? He probably used the experimental form of Metal Sonic's DNA reader and duplicator. Only applied to an unconscious brain. Now, applying only the memories that Dr. Robotnik wanted to was the hardest part. As I said earlier, he was not into biology, nor did he understand much of anything on Genetic engineering. He was mostly spitballing the whole time whist remembering anything he might have learned on the topic long ago. Looking at his grandfathers excessive records either from personal hand notes he inherited or data stored upon the ARK. It's very easy to see Eggman spending months up here just working on this one project. Eggman would finally come to the conclusion that he couldn't just separate the Shadow Android's memories. He would have to copy the data from how Shadow was now- and how he appeared in Sonic Heroes. This means that all androids would have the same available memories as Shadow. The results being: 1. All androids and Shadow would not remember Events during SA2 2. All androids and Shadow would have bleak memories of Maria and the ARK as seen in Shadow the Hedgehog. 3. All memories would be unstable. Fluxing and appearing either when called upon by certain circumstances of remaining in the dark for years. Who knows what it would take to resurrect all the true memories. Perhaps another female hedgehog's pleas? As the project went down the line, from metal concepts, to nearly perfect biological copies. Whether a few electronic instruments were needed inside the most advanced androids to make up for lack of biology is uncertain. Some of the androids look incredibly lifelike in Sonic Heroes. One is severed at the feet and several cords are exposed. (probably an earlier prototype Metal Sonic planned to deploy at last minute for testing, or kept with him just in case. Since everything was going according to plan though, he didn't need too. And moments later, one Ultimate Lifeform's Data would be copied. Possibly confirming that this is the real Shadow, or else Metal wouldn't need the Data Either that, or he was the most advanced android, and therefor the best host to gain data from. But if he is just a copy, couldn't Metal just download the files directly from somewhere? Backing up in time a bit, Dr. Robotnik would give Omega a new job. Placing the giant behemoth robot inside the core of his new cloning operations base. (He moved from the ARK to more. . . comfortable quarters. . . ) Omega would awaken, and destroy anyone who dared to steal Shadow. Of course subduing Shadow and putting him back in his capsule if push came to shove, however fierce he was though, Omega could not defeat the Ultimate life form. Rouge intervened and brought the two together. And that closes all I have to say about the Shadow Android. Post comments and suggestions below. Oh yeah, liking a post lets me know I should keep going with this stuff too you know. I quite making these theories a long time ago and some people noticed and started complaining. I might not have stopped if people actually went ahead and pressed that button, ya know, just to let me and others know that this sort of stuff is appreciated. Jus sayin. SO! on with the summons! --------- Gamin'Gal: paper luigi : A user of this : solidx123456 : Zlinqx : bombchu link : If you want summoned to more theories, then post below. We also need a good name for our Sonic group. Let me know if you have an idea. I don't want a name that's already been used. Egg zone perhaps? Before I comment about the theory I have some things to say. Why do you keep on switching between Dr. Robotnik and Dr. Eggman. Driving me crazy, m8. Most importantly, all hail the Mighty Eggman, lord of all knowledge and glorious mustaches. Last thing, the Eggroup cuz egg puns. Now, about the theory. Seems well written, no holes that I see. But, did the Shadow androids actually have memories? Never played Heroes or Shadow the Hedgehog (only seen let's plays that I sorta remember). Got nothing else :V Why do you keep on switching between Dr. Robotnik and Dr. Eggman. Driving me crazy, m8. Most importantly, all hail the Mighty Eggman, lord of all knowledge and glorious mustaches. Cool theory, I don't have anything to add. As for the name I'm not too big on egg zone but it doesn't matter to me too much. |
