Not sure if this is the most fitting subforum...

You're probably thinking "What could you have possibly done wrong?" but there are a few small things I did that I feel horrible about. Before I go into that, it's Tour de Vizzed month, so I should say something. I know it's normally bad timing to make threads like these during a TdV month, but it's not like I'm going to wait a month to apologize. I know I could just PM a bunch of people, but I think it's better to put this out there. It makes it easier to keep the promises I'll make in this thread.

Most of the time in the past, I made a thread when I had to leave Vizzed for a while. Sometimes I went very inactive for a month. But most of the time I came right back to normal activity within a few days. That might've made it seem like I was doing it for attention. Well, I wasn't, things went differently than I'd thought most of the time. Sometimes I was leaving for selfish reasons. Sometimes I came back and didn't tell about anything and I didn't talk to anyone unless they talked to me.

Ever since I came back about a month ago, I haven't talked to people here much except for replying to their posts. That's my fault, and I always had plenty of time to talk, but I wasn't doing it. I knew everyone would want to talk to me, but I didn't care and didn't bother to act like I did. I'm honestly not sure why I didn't care as much anymore. I guess I was pretty unhappy with how things were going and I thought doing whatever I felt like doing here would help. It didn't.

I care way more now. I didn't start realizing how bad it was for me not to be talking to anyone until just recently. I realized...

I only have a few more years until I can't be here anymore. After I leave, I might not be able to talk to anyone here again.

Many people will miss me greatly, go through tough times, and some might even feel like their life on Vizzed isn't complete anymore. And they might leave with me!

It'll be even sadder when I leave if I don't talk to people much during my time here.

Well, I'm done.

I'm done going inactive unless I can't access Vizzed, I'm too busy, or others want me to do something different. And I'm done doing whatever I want on Vizzed and not going out of my way for others.

I'm still going to put real life first when I should, but I'm going to be better here now.

In case you didn't want to read this whole thread or couldn't, basically I'm sorry for going inactive more than needed and seeming to lie about some of my inactivity, and not talking to people much outside the forums.

I think that's what we all realize at some point.

There's a healthy balance of real-life and online-time that we're each have to find at some point.

Most of us are still looking for it, but you seem well on your way to finding that balance.

Welcome back to being an active member.

EideticMemory : Yeah, I'm pretty close to finding that balance. I had already promised to talk more to you in your one year thread, so I didn't summon you. You still found this thread though (of course. You're a mod of the forum ) and I'm glad you did.

I know how hard it is to do things sometimes, and when you're not feeling it, talking to someone is one of the hardest things that you can do.

It's been pretty sad not being able to talk but it's great that you'll talk to people again

Some people don't put real life first and look how we ended up :$ so it's great you're still putting real life first.

Barathemos: Yeah, a lot of the time I wanted to be independent and do my own thing. After a while it got pretty unfulfilling. I'll try to talk to all my friends, including you, soon if possible Right now it's about 8:30 P.M. and I have to start my homework XD

Sometimes you do need people in your life to talk to even if you seem perfectly fine, people you don't know personally and those in your life are both very important.

But I already know that if I try to come on here at all as well as go through college and have a job, I won't be able to do it. I'm pretty bad at multi-tasking, I get distracted easily, and I'll be too busy doing other things in my life as well for people I know in real life, mainly my family. Based on what's been going on (maybe I'll say it later), I think they'll need my help a lot.

Barathemos : Thanks, I needed it. With all the snow and ice I'm getting here, and the fact that I just got back from break, it's so hard to concentrate. Well, I didn't have to worry about completing it all last night, because school got cancelled today.

Ehehehe, I know exactly what you mean. EM summed it up really well, most of us are looking to find the right balance between irl and online time. Sometimes I have my priorities right, but there have been other times where I've done poorly in school as a result of poor time management. I still consider it one of my biggest flaws, because it effects all aspects of my life.

I think I had one of those moments in July. I had decided to leave the site for a few months, to get school back on track (I do school year-round), but EM convinced me that the friendships I've made here shouldn't be so easily left behind. I was less active, and avoided staff roles other than my Minecraft Admin role, but I still stayed invested in most of the friendships I made here. That's when I think I had the balance right. Not because I was less active, but because I recognized that my schedule didn't allow me to be as active as I wanted to be. I really respect you for keeping your priorities in line, without abandoning the friendships you've forged here.

Time ticks on, but the friendship of a true friend stands firm throughout. Hold on to what matters, as much as you can, without compromising higher priorities.

NintendoFanKimmy : Most people who leave Vizzed stop by once every few months and talk to their friends, and I'm thinking of doing the same. Maybe I'll only have the time to say "hi" and then I'll have to take off again XD

Anyways, welcome back pac! It's hard to find the right balance, I am usually on Vizzed in the weekends or not so busy school days, but many days I have too much homework, I have to sport or I just don't feel like going on Vizzed. There have been a few times when Vizzed has screwed up school work for me as well but lately I feel like the balance between Vizzed and school is getting better, although I find it difficult to not be here every day when I see that you and my other friends are as active as usual.

Yeah, I am as active as usual, but that won't last long. After my 2nd trimester of school ends, things are gonna get way crazier, especially with me being back in the JROTC class I told you about. I plan on eventually joining a school club for community service and that will make me have less time for Vizzed. Heck, after my next year of school starts, I'm probably gonna be even less active than you most of the time because of my giant plans for high school.

I want to be one of those people that most others go to for help and a huge inspiration. I want to get involved with my school a lot as well.
