For those who missed out on the last 2 TdV competitions, we had a big change: The Red and Green Jerseys are now based on Contribution Points and Actions! And I also added a Hall of Fame page. Another new addition are the daily double point actions.



There are 2 new additions to this Tour de Vizzed:

Staff actions do not count toward the Red Jersey competition. The only 2 staff actions that do count are Game Content (and that's because regular users can submit content to games, they just have to have staff approve it) and Graphic Adding (and that's because I'm adding a new feature which allows regular users to add graphics to games; more info on that later today). Overall this update will help make the Tour de Vizzed more fair for non staff members. I should point out though that staff actions do count toward the Green Jersey still.

It's possible to earn 7 points toward a Jersey. If you get 1st place in a Jersey for the day and your score for that Jersey is doubled that of 2nd place, you'll get 7 points for the day instead of 5. So for example, if you made 100 posts for the Blue Jersey competition and 2nd place had only 30 posts, you'd get 7 points instead of 5 points. This should be a great way for users to have a chance to catch up late in the competition because there have been so many TdV competitions where there is such a big gap between 1st and 2nd that it's impossible to catch up and that turns users off from the TdV and usually results into the competition dying off. It'll also be a great way to reward users who want to go above and beyond by doing even more for the site each day so it also encourages more content submitted to the site. This is an experimental new feature, if you guys end up liking it, I'll keep it, if you guys end up hating it, I'll get rid of it.



Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

New rules:
If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing.

New Rule of as 1/9/2015: The Game Content action no longer counts toward the Green Jersey. The action still counts toward the Red Jersey though.



Additional Tour de Vizzed Info:

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Each day there will be a specific CP action which will be worth doubled the points which benefits the Red Jersey competition. Below is a list of which actions are worth doubled on which days this month:

Let the games begin!

Well, this month, I am going to try my absolute best to win it, after all, this is the best chance I have to win it this month, I am off more this month than working, so I have a bit of an advantage right there, plus TdVs in April and later might be a bad time to compete, so this month is the one month I have great opportunity to win it.

After this month, I'll retire from competing in TdV.

Well, a few new features. This should be interesting. I like the new 7 point rule. However, I doubt it will come into play until probably the last week or so of the competition. That's usually when those situations happen.

Do the charts already reflect the correct number of 'points' in regards to staff actions that don't count towards the competition?

I forget to add a new rule to my thread:

thing1 : Yeah that rule probably wont come into play until the competition slows down which will be later on in the competition.

Singelli : The rule is already in affect, is that what you mean?

Davideo7 : I do like that idea, it brings the concept of the old green jersey (prior to Summer 2014's TdV) that if you postin the green is more than 50% of your total post in the in the blue will get you a DQ, great idea David, that way no one sneaks up and takes the jersey in the final minute.

And I also like the 7 point rule, because that can increased the total amount of points a user can earn from 20 points to 28 points in one day.

David, I was just wondering if the numbers for the red and green jersey on this page are accurate, or whether they still need deductions for whatever staff actions the scorers might have taken.

Singelli : Those should be accurate. Now if you were to look at past results from that page, then those probably wouldn't be accurate.

This is going to be a fun month, it's going to be a lot more challenging than some of the others, but I can already tell that it's going to be very exciting.

zanderlex : It's going to be very challenging because so many users made plans to win this season.

Davideo7 : Maybe instead of like what almost was last time, there could be 3 or more people at super high levels or so.

Davideo7 : Which point are you referring to? There could be 3 users or more who dominate with super high point totals all at once. Like the top 3 could all reach 300 if people stick to their word.

Davideo7 : I think the Tour de Vizzed is a great idea, but I don't see a point in it for me. TdV is just a thing for people who have WAAAYYY too much time on their hands, in my opinion.

PacmanandMariofan : Well, I have mentioned that the mythical IB122 will be released on January 1st, 2015 but no one believed me for one bit, well, who's laughing now. I warned you on this creature and you're seeing The IB122 action in front of you.

Does this mean that, even if I only make one post that day (a walkthrough) I'm also DQ'd? Just asking because that's what I did last TdV to earn daily Yellow due to my timezone.

EX Palen : Unfortunately yeah, that would DQ you. All you have to do is post it an hour earlier or just wait until the next day.

If it wasn't for the winter TdV last year, I might have not stuck around.

That's also why I'm especially happy to see it happen this time around.
