After the events of the Genesis wave, Shard the Metal was not brought back and still may be kept out of the comics.
Nichole has made no comments about him since the Rewrite, and apparently isn't heartstricken like you would think she would be.
This . . . . . would be disappointing- at best.
Now, I now, Ian Flynn does his best, and he deserves a lot of praise for his work. I love what he does, and he does a pretty good job. Unlike a lot of major Gaming corperations who do stuff for money. . . . .
Iann Flynn really seems to love what he does.
But the Genesis rewrite isn't making sense.
Characters who are aware of it are not only barely breaking down over it, but apparently won't even morn their loses. You know, like family, who, apparently, no longer exists. (Tail's dad, Matilda, ect).
Probably this sad fact is ignored to make the transition smoother and not drawn out. Though I think that Ian Flynn was doing pretty good on his own. . .
He was even moving in the directions fans wanted too, in art style, and characters. It was good.
But now He's been making Sonic's side to the story- at least- a little more bubbly. The stuff that I liked in the comics aren't there so much anymore. I don't get really happy when the comics arrive, although I did love Shadow's side to the story, and Chaos Appearing was a nice touch. ^^'
Even so, let's get back to Shard.
Shard may have been a robot, but, he was a feeling robot, and he apparently died irregardless of the battle against metal Sonic due to the Genesis wave rewrite.
But. . . what about Nicole?
This made me sad because it was really one of my favorite pairings. I mean, they matched eachother well, and Shard. . .
He was a great character.
Developed, and useful. What Metal Sonic could have been.
And the way he went out was so sad too. . . . his last words. . . .
"And Nicole? zztttt You're gre- zzzztttttttttttttt"
