I desperately need help! I've been playing Final Fantasy III (SNES) and I got really far into the game, but then today when I loaded the game to load my previous save, I accidentally pressed F2 at the title screen instead of F4, so now my saved game's been overwritten at the title screen. Is there a way to revert to a previous save state? Or a cheat that lets you jump to any point in the game? I had just

when I accidentally overwrote my game. Please help! I'd never played this game before and I'd really like to not have to start over from the beginning.

Bad news you can't. Problem with it is that when you do savestate it makes a file showing that you saved there(somewhat hidden I think unless I am stupid on finding them on offsite emulators) but when you then savestate again it overwrites the other. So sadly you have to start from the beginning.

Well thanks anyway. Perhaps the emulators could add a "Are you sure you want to overwrite your save?" message or something? Just a suggestion - I don't have a clue how easy or hard it would be to do so.

Unfortunately, that also isn't possible.
We don't have control of how the emulators themselves work.

Closing this as it seems the question was answered.
