I am SO excited about this Saturday.  So lets talk our expectations for the new Doctor. Do you think he is going to be awesome?  Is anyone upset that Clara is done after the Christmas special do you think there is going to be another heart wrenching leave when Moffat thinks of more evil ways to torture us? and so on....

I honestly have no idea what to expect. That is one thing about this series. Every time they move the the next incarnation, it is more than just a character change. The atmosphere of the entire show changes. Risky method, but has been successful so far (so far being an insanely long time for a show ). But with that, you really have to wait and see. I am not upset that Clara is leaving. Really that is nothing new. Part of the show is that the Dr. has new companions. Nobody stays forever on the show. It is just a part of the show, and I find that getting too attached to the characters will always lead to being upset. I learned to always keep in mind that whoever is on the show might very well be gone soon.

I'm not sure what to expect. But I'm right there with you, I'm excited!! I'm a bit sad Clara is going on the Christmas special. (What is it with Moffat and doing things on Christmas specials? And getting rid of Companions in very saddening ways?) Anyway, I think the new Doctor will be awesome! I'm excited to see how he'll be.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

A user of this : a lot of people blame Moffat but really they choose to leave and he just makes the most (or worst) out of it.

A user of this : Also, new companions and always getting a new Dr. incarnation is the main reason why the show has lasted for so long. Every other show is always doomed to hit a point where 1 of 2 things happen. The creators end it at the appropriate time, or they keep going and the show has lost its flair be the last season or two. This show has a unique formula that nobody thought would work. When they get a new Dr. they give him a new personality, tweak the atmosphere of the show to fit the new personality, and introduce new companions. That is how the show has been around since the early 1960's but managed to keep everything fresh and new. Even something such as the companions is important to eventually change. The longer you keep the same characters, the more repetitive the show eventually gets.

I saw the season premiere in theaters on my birthday back on Monday. I can honestly say I liked the new doctor very much. People say he's old, but you should never judge a book by its cover. Besides, the very first doctor was the same age as Capaldi.

If you guys haven't seen the episode yet, I know you'll love it. It's very weird at first, but then it gradually gets more and more entertaining.

Honestly with Doctor Who you never know what to expect I was sad when David Tennant left as the 10th and still I watched and loved Matt Smith as the 11th. We're always afraid at first and hate the people in charge but eventually we adapt. I'm still hoping to see some awesome story lines like The Head of Boe's. Though I don't think they'll bring back Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman). Which I really wanted to see in the 50th special but oh well. It will probably happen with Matt where people will hate the 12th at first then grow into him. For me Tom Baker is still my favorite with Sarah Jane Smith (RIP <3).

I've enjoyed what I've seen of the new season (series), and I think Peter Capaldi has done a good job as the new Doctor so far.

I will say that there's been a few moments where I've felt the script was a bit dull, but the stories have been pretty good so far, though, I am a bit baffled by the "Welcome to paradise!" scenes that have been happening in each episode... No idea what that's going to result in, but I imagine it's going to be big.

I honestly haven't enjoyed Capaldi's run as much as I had hoped. He's a real jerk to Clara, a character I wasn't very interested in in the first place. I have really enjoyed him in episodes like Listen and Time Heist, though. Those episodes will always be really amazing to me.
Kill the Moon I feel was the worst episode of the series yet. It was really stupid, constantly ripped off The Waters of Mars, and the ending made me hate the 12th Doctor for a moment there. He's really starting to annoy me with some of the things he's doing.

I kind of like Doctor Grouchy. They are trying something sort of like Doctor #1 and #6 - who starts off unfriendly then gradually will get more likable.  Its inevitable, that he will soften and get a bit less crabby.

That being said, new seaon's is bit of a mixed bag. Can't wait for 'Impossible Girl' to impossibly leave. I can only hope for a companion that might be from the past or future.

Liked the Orient Express one. Felt Time Heist was the worst of the new ones, for my 2 cents.

endings :  I wasn't too fond of that last episode either, but it wasn't bad, all in all

You know, I really thought I wouldn't enjoy an 'older' doctor, but he's grown on me. Everytime we get a new doctor, I think I'll end up not liking him though... and so far I have yet to be proven right.  I think we're getting to see a whole new depth of character, and I appreciate it very much.

I would like to see some of the old characters come back, however, like Strax and Jack Harkness.

And of course, I sometimes wonder what happened to River Song. I mean... he was always coming across her in his timeline, but now she's completely forgotten?  You'd think his wife would at least be mentioned from time to time.

So, um... someone just pointed this out to me...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgaoUNyfsN4

Moffat, you make me angry sometimes, but you are still a good writer. I don't care what anyone says, but if you can do THAT...
What do all of you fans think of this... interesting plot development?

Capaldi's Doctor seems to be doing a great job so far. He seams to be capable of taking the doctor to a darker level then we have seen in years.
This year has been touching on some good stories but I have yet to see anything that makes me truly exited. I do however look forward to seeing what the deal is with "Heaven" and what will ultimately end up happening.

DrakPokeMaster :  whooooooaaaaaaaa....... how the heck did anyone even remember that and put it together?!?!

Seriously.... all the interwoven bits just make Dr. Who such a gem.  I want to see if Moffat has written any books, because I bet they are -phenomenal.    At first I was watching the clip, and when it swapped over to Matt Smith, I was a little confused. They probably should have cut that clip a little closer to the plot connection.  Thanks for sharing that.

I have really enjoyed  this series so far and my fav episode is Listen. I know there are other episodes that are more exiting and/or more intriguing...

But the concept of the episode, the realization and execution is marvelous.

also, Kill the moon was brilliant :3

Mummy on the Orient seemed to have our Doctor making a lot of nods to the past ones, I could be delusional and perhaps not all were, but regardless I enjoyed, since those past incarnations are all still somewhere in that noggin.

He strikes a certain stiff pose that reminded me of the 1st doctor.
The Jelly baby bit is total 4th doctor.
A few manic 360 spins and changing direction, totally Smith
And even Clara got in on the action with her nod to Tennant "I'm so sorry." Was anyone ever more apolgetic than #10?

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
