This month's High Score competition is for 'T&C Thrilla's Surfari' for the Nintendo NES. You can play it here:

The point of this competition is to get as high of a score as you can. Every year in August we have a speed run competition for this game, this is the first time we're having a high score competition for this game. The life count will be used for the score.


VIDEO REQUIRED: You must post a video of yourself accomplishing the score you submit. You must use the RGR Plugin's built in video recording capabilities.

RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of your top score from that by pressing F6. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where the highscores would appear, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Highscore', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Score' to submit your score.

You cannot unfairly get points or lives or use a glitch of any sort. If you find something that gives out unlimited points or lives, it will not count.


Prizes:
1st = 10,000 Viz
2nd = 2,500 Viz
3rd = 1,000 Viz

I'm new to these competitions, but I'm going to try, does the video have to start recording at the beginning of the game, or can you start your recording midway through the game

This is an awfully luck-based high score competition. Unless there is some way to manipulate the results of the Shell Game. I'm also afraid to play this game again, because I know I'll be nowhere near as good as I was before, hehe.

noobpwner59 : You must record from the beginning.

madison : I'm fine with the luck thing, but I'm with you in that I will not be as good as I was before. It took a LOT of practice and work to do that speed run. Time I do not have right now with orientations starting, and students coming in next week.

madison : I wish I could do a high score competition for this game without it being based on luck. It sucks that they never implemented a real high score system in this game.

Davideo7 : David, why would you choose this game? its by ljn,and no one wants to play it but i just saying so no need to get angry.

mostcheats43 : Actually this game has had lots of competition in the past, I do a competition for this game every year. It's actually a good game surprisingly, did you even play it?

Davideo7 : yes and how is it a good game?

mostcheats43 : It's fun in a lot of ways:
-Good and detailed graphics
-Variety of levels (skateboarding, surfing, waterfall surfing, etc)
-Fun but challenging boss battles
-Great music
-Great controls
-An appealing storyline with cutscenes

I'm not sure what's not to like about it. The first T&C game sucks I will admit that but this one is actually good. I looked at your game profile and I saw no evidence that you actually played it. I hope you're not just trolling me right now.

Davideo7 : i did play this game but only on my nes 

I like the game because it is pretty darn unique and brutally difficult, also I do skateboard in real life. Anyway I was wondering if the first warp will be allowed because it gives 3 extra lives I think.
