Welcome everyone to the second annual Netplay "Teams" Tournament on Vizzed. There are 16 teams in this competition consisting of 39 players. This tournament will last for 10 weeks, 6 of those weeks being regular weeks and the last 4 of those weeks being playoff weeks. The 8 teams with the most points will enter the playoffs (high ranked teams will play low ranked teams). If 2 teams tie, the tie will be broken based on who beat who when the 2 teams had a matchup against each other.

Recording your games isn't required but it is encouraged. The plugin supports video recording so you're free to record you session either using the plugin or an external program and than upload your video to vizzed YouTube account.

The teams are broken down into 4 Divisions and you'll play every team in your division once. Each week you'll be assigned to an opponent team and you'll play them in 2 games, beat them both times and you get 2 points, beat them once and you get 1 point and they get 1 point. If neither teams play each other in a week than neither of them get a point unless one team fails to communicate with the other, than the team doing the communication would get the point.

The team leaders of each team are responsible for setting up a time and day to play the weekly matchup. You can communicate with each other via the weekly thread but you must also PM each other if you can't get a hold of your opponents. A matchup can take place if it's just 1 on 1 or if it's 2 on 1, in fact that might happen a lot if a team leader or a team partner is unable to play a scheduled matchup. For those who have a backup player, remember that the backup can take over for the team leader or team partner if one of those 2 players can't play in a weekly matchup.

If a team member has to withdraw from the competition, then the backup player takes on an active role. If the team doesn't have a backup player, then the remaining player may draft a new player to their team. If both players drop out of a team, then I'll make a thread asking for players to take over for that team. If a player drops out of a team, they will get fined 10,000 Viz and added to the ban list.

Here's how you'll determine which game you play each week:
Each player from each team will choose a game that they don't want to play each week (backup player has no say) and whichever 2 games don't get vetoed are the games that get played. Each matchup consists 2 x 2 and since that's a total of 4 players and since there are 5 games to pick from, there will always be a remainder game. For teams that only consist of 1 player, or if your teammate doesn't pick a game to veto, then you get to pick 2 games to veto. Be sure to say in each week's thread what game you want to veto.

It is recommended that you play on the United States L2 server since that's the best server. If you're interested in hosting your own server, you must be a Trusted member and you can find the details on how to do that here. The benefit of hosting your own netplay server is that netplay runs a lot faster when your in a session on a server that you're hosting.

Thursday at 9 PM central time is the default matchup time each week. If you can't schedule a time to play against your weekly opponent before the default matchup time, then you are expected to play at that time and if one of the teams fail to show up at that time, that team loses the matchup (and the matchup ends in a tie if both fail to show up at that time). Remember, the default time is only used if both teams can't come up with an agreement on a time to play the matchup.

Be sure to post the results of your weekly matchups to the weekly thread.

Here are the games you can choose from:

Bomberman '94 (TG)
Choosing:
On the 1st screen, pick Battle game. On the 2nd screen, select the number of players playing and choose the option on the right (there are 2 options at the top in japanese). On the 3rd screen, pick the bottom option which is 5 games. On the 4th screen, you guys may each choose a character. On the 5th screen, pick a level that you can all agree on but if you can't all agree on a level than you must pick the default level.
Winning:
Whichever team wins all 5 matches wins the game.

Super Spike V'Ball (NES)
Choosing:
Pick 2 Players vs 2 Players (unless of course 1 or 2 users are missing from your matchup, than you'll have to pick 2 players vs 1 player or 1 player vs 1 player). Leave all the Configuration settings default. Both teams may do Character Select or State Select if they want.

Whichever team wins the set wins the game.

Peace Keepers (SNES)

If both teams agree, you may pick a different level or weapon but if both teams can't come to an agreement, use default.
Winning:

On the Player Select screen, just pick anything, doesn't matter since it's all Japanese. On the Court Surface page, pick Hard (unless everyone can agree on a different court).
Winning:
Pick a 1 set match, whoever wins it wins the game.

Hit the Ice (TG)
Choosing:
On the 1st screen, pick VS. Play. On the 2nd screen, pick 1P2P - 3P4P.

IceyGamer: Summon fails. EDIT: Probably fails since they haven't posted at all.

I kind of forgot that I was signing up for this.

blubblub9 :
loki19 : Go us!

So, how will picking the game go this time around? Will it be up to the entire team, or just the leaders?

I've constructed the entire schedule for this tournament:
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6

You wont be playing the matchups of those weeks until those weeks take place (which is when I'll be opening each of those threads).

Davideo7 : Question regarding the playoffs, I myself have no issue with uploading videos to my personal account but for those who don't have or can't upload/record videos to their own youtube and assuming they don't find someone to spectate, then what? Vizzed Youtube video length is limited to 15 minutes right?

Also, I could correct the typos and discrepancies on the rules, but it'd become a giant wall post that'd look like a copy paste, plus PM is out of question due to the torrent of PM's you already get... I got it covered though, let me know if it's alright to post it.

Davideo7 : Nothing big really (I'm somewhat of a grammar nazi .-.). Just some minor things that could be fixed. There are some repeated words and typos, also a few phrases that should be rephrased or they could lead to confusion for those not paying attention.

EDIT: There's nothing really wrong with the rule themselves though.

EDIT: Didn't initially want to post it like this because of TdV, but since I don't take part in it I guess it's alright.

Davideo7 : Here's the revised rules. The only changes were grammar corrections, when there were repeated sentences and errors they were fixed, along with any typos ("than" and "then" wrong usage was the major issue). No changes on the rules themselves were made as you can see.

The 10 teams with the most points will enter the playoffs (the 2 highest ranked teams overall will have a 1st round bye in the playoffs). If 2 teams tie, the tie will be broken based on who beat who when the 2 teams had a matchup against each other. If for some reason the 2 tied teams are rivals and each won once against each other, then the 2 teams will have to play a special match against each other to determine who advances to the playoffs.
Recording your games isn't required but it is encouraged. The plugin supports video recording so you're free to record your session by using either the plugin or an external program and then upload your video to Vizzed YouTube account.
The teams are broken down into 4 Divisions and you'll play every team in your division once. Each week you'll be assigned to an opponent team and you'll play them in 2 games, beat them both times and you get 2 points, beat them once and both teams get 1 point. If neither teams play each other in a week then neither of them get a point unless one team fails to communicate with the other, then the team doing the communication would get the point.
The team leaders of each team are responsible for setting up a time and day to play the weekly matchup. You can communicate with each other via the weekly thread, but you must also PM each other if you can't get a hold of your opponents.
Each matchup consists of 2 x 2 and since there's a total of 4 players along with 6 games to pick from, there will always be a remainder game. For teams that only consist of 1 player, or if your teammate doesn't pick a game to veto, then you get to pick 2 games to veto. Be sure to say in each week's thread what game you want to veto.
It is recommended that you play on the United States L2 server since that's the best server. If you're interested in hosting your own server, you must be a Trusted member and you can find the details on how to do that here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=50191.
The benefit of hosting your own netplay server is that netplay runs a lot faster when you're in a session on a server that you're hosting.
Be sure to post the results of your weekly matchups on the weekly thread.

On the 5th screen, pick a level that you can all agree on, but if everyone can't agree on a level then you must pick the default stage.
Winning:
Whichever team wins all 5 matches wins the game.
Super Spike V'Ball (NES)
Choosing:
Pick 2 Players vs 2 Players (unless of course 1 or 2 users are missing from your matchup, then you'll have to pick 2 players vs 1 player or 1 player vs 1 player). Leave all the Configuration settings default. Both teams may do Character Select or State Select if they want.
Winning:
Whichever team wins the set wins the game.
Peace Keepers (SNES)
Choosing:
Pick 4 Players under the Vs Game menu (if only 2 players are playing, choose 2 players and if only 3 players are playing, pick 3 players). Players can pick whichever character they want. If both teams agree, you may pick a different level or weapon but if both teams can't come to an agreement, use default.
Winning:
Play best out of 7 matches. Of course the players will fight against the players on the opposite team but if the 2 last people standing after a round are on the same team, they'll have to simply fight each other to the death so that the next round can take place.
Micro Machines 2 - Turbo Tournament (SNES)
Choosing:
On the 1st screen, pick 4 Player Teams. On the 2nd screen, pick Tournaments. On the 3rd screen, pick Mega Mix (unless everyone can agree on a different mode).
Winning:
Whichever team wins the tournament wins the game.
Final Match Tennis (TG)
Choosing:
On the 1st screen, pick Exhibition. On the 2nd screen, pick 1P 2P VS 3P 4P (make sure Player 1 and Player 2 are on a team and Player 3 and Player 4 are on a team). If a teammate is missing, they will be filled in by a CPU player. If both teams only had 1 user show up, then you can do 1P VS 2P.
Winning:
The team with the most points after all 3 periods wins.
EDIT: Didn't initially want to post it like this because of TdV, but since I don't take part in it I guess it's alright.

I'm sorry, but I had never signed up for the contest, only asked a question about it, and the one computer the plug in works on, none of the games will load, so effectively, I cant participate, although I would have considered it otherwise. The RGR staff has been trying to deal with the problem, but even when they do fix it, I rarely have access to this computer anymore, this being the computer I can play games on, or can once the problem is solved anyways. I really don't want to leave gamerguy121 partner-less or drop out, but I have no choice whatsoever. However, I may be able to get my area's public library computers to download the plug in, although notoriously random at what it accepts and when and I'd have to re-download every time. I will edit this post to say if it worked or not after I have tried it, and if it works, I cant play Fridays or weekends because gamerguy121 is available around 6:00 (not, however, knowing how that compares to time where I am) and the library closes at 5 on Fridays and is closed on weekends.

It works, slowly and no save data will be able to be used from the library computers, but it works. Now to fiddle with netplay to see if that works too.

although I have already posted this in the net play tournament week 1 thread, my partner's post about it (the post directly above this one) is in this thread, so, for the sake of whichever gets read first:

Well, I can only play Monday because my local library is closed weekends. But since it's the last day of this round, and our opponents have finally contacted us, my team may have to draft a sub before then. My partner is trying to get us one, but I still want to know if it's ok if my team can play at the last moment of the week/round of this tournament. This is a question for both you, David, and Team KoolShack. I can play from 2:00-6:00 (2:00-5:00 on Fridays and I cant on weekends), and my partner can from 2:00-3:00 (I believe) and from 5:00-6:00 (definite). Our vetoed games are Hit The Ice and probably the tennis one, although my partner has yet to pick and I believe our opponents vetoed games are, although I'm not 100% sure (correct me if I'm wrong, Team Koolshack) Super Spike V'Ball and Peace Keepers

blubblub9 : It already started, you should've read both threads that you got summoned to.

CrossingOfWorlds : You're part of the tournament so you're going to have to figure something out.

gamerguy121 : If you're unable to get a hold of your opponents, be sure to report them in the Week 1 thread.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
