This is a follow-up to my "Which is better: Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask" thread. Since Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VII are both overrated games, and they've been rival games in the late 90's, I want you to tell me which one is better. I honestly think Final Fantasy VII was better. I'm a bigger fan of the Legend of Zelda series, but let me explain this: Final Fantasy VII opened up to me. I liked the Final Fantasy series before XI (Final Fantasy XI is an online MMO), and Final Fantasy VII really opened my eyes. I'd say it's tied up with Earthbound for my favorite game. The game has great music, it's addicting for many explainable reasons, and it's Final Fantasy...in 3D. I won't say much for the graphics, though. With Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I honestly didn't find it the best Zelda game. It's a well constructed game, it really is, but I think it got boring at many parts of the game. Either redundant, or not that interesting. Final Fantasy had more to offer to me. So...what's your favorite?

PixelBrick : I thought final fantasy 7 was better because it had a riveting storyline. I'd say more than Zelda: Ocarina of Time did. Also final fantasy 7 had more playable characters than Zelda: Ocarina of time's characters, which usually is always link as your playable character in the Zelda game series.

I wouldn't want to compare these games, it just would make much sense since they are very different games. They both may be RPG's but FF7 is a Stat and Turn based RPG unlike OoT.

Since I can't really compare or contrast fairly I'm just going to say FF7 is better and end it there. Just because I've enjoyed it more and played more of it.

FF Is awful in my opinion so i'm going with OOT. it's a lot better than any FF game.

I live Zelda Ocarina of time allot but for me nothing can compare to FF VII or any of the Final Fantasy games. Because the first game I ever played was FF II for SNES and I love the series ever since and FF VII was for me the best from the series. 

I like both though Ocarina of Time got redundant at times for me and I'm not a huge fan of it in general as I find it hugely overrated (Looking at you IGN) so I'd definitely go for Final Fantasy 7 (which I also think is overrated though to a lesser extent). That might also partly be because I'm a sucker for turn based RPG's.

Final fantasy VII was the best game of all time except for metroid prime and super Mario sunshine.

Ocarina of Time. Granted, i don't like either, but OOT was able to keep me awake for most of it. Sorry, but FFVII was way too boring for me.

That's a good question, but a different genre for both, but I'd say OoT is my favorite, since I'm not too keen of the Final Fantasy series in general.
