So...Sonic. Adventure. 7. Where did we go wrong here? Oh, let's count the ways! Firstly, the graphics, or lack thereof. This game looks HORRIBLE. The backgrounds are ugly, Sonic himself looks like complete and utter ass, and this is an overall shame to the great Game Boy handheld system. Hell, GAME GEAR games look far superior than this. Secondly, the music, or lack thereof! The tracks sound like...like...someone was forced to puke these tracks back up and put them in a blender and throw in the results. Oh GOD, this is also an affront to the Game Boy and Game Gear...Next, Addictiveness. Let's say I just lost my mind at the first level and I'll explain why later on down the road. The story, nonexistent. I guess I'll have to consult the game man...oh...whoops. And the depth, oh god the depth. If you make me lose my mind at the first level of the game, then I have zero hope for you. NONE. Let's get to the difficulty, oh yes, the difficulty, how I've longed for this. Let's see why that's rated a 9, shall we? It's rated a 9 for the wrong possible reasons. Its not fun hard, or difficulty spike hard, its FAKE hard. Here's the big reason why: the control. Sonic has nowhere NEAR the amount of speed he has in the main games, heck, even on Game Gear! He has horrible traction and I have difficulty getting him to jump. Even when he does jump, once he hits an enemy, he goes straight out of ball mode and sets himself up to take a hit! What's more, his jumping physics are so off! He feels so heavy and I constantly have to find myself holding the right arrow key to at least get him to cooperate with my jumps. Even then, I find myself landing in so many bottomless pits or dying due to cheap enemy placement, UGH, this game is HORRIBLE! Once you put that all in perspective, horrid graphics, horrid sound, fake difficulty out the wazoo, no immersion into the world or the story or the Sonic mythos, and you've got a horrible, horrible game. Yes, I know this is a pirated game, but that's really no excuse for making it poor quality... If someone could please figure out the development of this game and how it was conceptualized, please let me know, I'd love to hear it. Sorry this rant was long, but I really needed to rage at this game...may it rot away forever. So...Sonic. Adventure. 7.
