Blog Entry #1:
Since the last blog was closed, I thought I'd make another one. Now, as long as I can keep updating it, there shouldn't be any problem. Honestly, I'm actually embarrassed by the video that I posted in that last blog, although it isn't up anymore. It was truly awful in every conceivable way...Okay, now that I'm done talking about what I did in the past blog, which was only one post, let's move on to what I'm going to do in this blog.
In this blog, I plan to talk about what's happening in my life at the time, what my plans are for the future, my experiences, and a lot of things to do with me. Now, that's not going to be the entire blog right there, since nobody would read it if it was. I also plan to make updates for the future, including reviews and other things like that. If I decide that I want to, I could also try a "Game/App of the Blog" section detailing a game or app that I've played, most likely not one that's available on Vizzed, and talking about it.
So, let me get started with this first post. I've been wanting to make gaming videos for a long time now. I really like watching them, both for the gameplay and the commentary. Even if a video has horrible playing skills and poor commentary, I can typically enjoy it to a certain extent. But, for some reason, I can't produce anything that's actually remotely close to being watchable. It might have something to do with the fact that I use an HD camcorder, but still. My commentary isn't funny, my gaming skills aren't great, and it generally doesn't look too good, most of the time. Although I haven't uploaded it anywhere yet, I just recorded myself playing The Last of Us for the first time. As you might've expected, I got stuck on a relatively simple part for 2-3 minutes because I didn't know where to go and died on the first part of the game while having less precise aim than an Imperial Stormtrooper.
Alright, now that I'm done detailing my life and all that jazz, let's move on to the App of the Blog - the YouTube app for the Nintendo 3DS. Okay, let me get this straight - the 3DS is incapable of playing HD for two reasons. One, it simply doesn't have the power to easily stream HD video quality, and two, the screen isn't large enough to really make HD look, well, high-definition. The screen is enough to support 360p, or maybe 480p at the very most, with its size. But although it isn't the best, it's still very watchable. Now, there's a lot of people who hated the app because it had serious problems with freezing and crashing, especially when it was first launched. At first, logging into your account and attempting to watch a video would cause the app to sputter and crash no matter how good your Internet connection was. Although they fixed that one problem, it doesn't undo all of the one-star ratings that it earned on the eShop because of that.
Along with the aforementioned problems, the app doesn't display comments, you can't upload videos from it, and you have to actually go directly to someone's channel if you want to subscribe. But, on a more positive note, although it might just be my high-speed internet talking, as long as the 3DS had a good connection strength with the router, there were no problems whatsoever with playing the videos. They didn't sputter or have any problems whatsoever...which is more than I can say about trying to use the original Wii's internet browser to play YouTube videos. So, overall, I'd give the app a C+. It's worth using, but it's relatively unpolished and has multiple issues and missing features. Blog Entry #1:
