Everybody has a favorite game and mine is Guardian’s Crusade. Since I last played this game, there must have been at least a hundred other games that I have played and yet I still classify this game as the single greatest game that I have ever played in my life. The game wasn’t really special to me, it was nowhere near to being the first game I ever played and it wasn’t given to me a as a gift or anything like that, but I still cherish the game because of the amount of fun that I would have while I play it. The game was released in 1999. The game was developed by Tamsoft and published by both Tamsoft and Activision. In my opinion, I would say that this game was the reason for Activision became so popular because before the game was published, Activision was not that well known and just months after the game was released, Activision released its most successful series, Tony Hawk. I played the game so many times that I remember parts of the game word for word, it’s about a young boy who finds a little, pig like, pink monster and he has to bring the monster to a faraway tower to its mother. The game is just packed with awesomeness. As you walk around the huge map, you will find little ghost like objects. The small ones will run away from you and the big ones will chase you. If you touch them, you battle whatever monster it is. The graphics are state of the art considering It’s a game that came out in the 20th century. The map is beautiful, the designs and colors for the buildings, characters, monsters, and toys are amazing. If in the next 10 years, we were to see a Pokemon game on the DS with such graphics, I would be in shock, that’s how good the graphics were. The graphics are just 100% awesome and I give them a perfect score. Next is the sound of the game. The music is remarkable. If I were to not play the game for 10 years and then find one of the songs on youtube, or whatever there is in 10 years, I would still be able to hum along to the music. The music blends together with the action perfectly. If you’re in a cave, the music will creep you out, if you are on the boat during the storm, the music will be dramatic. There is a song for every point in the game and it’s great. Sound also gets a perfect score. As for addictiveness, this is the single most addicting game that I have ever played in my life. The map is huge, it will take tons of hours to journey to every place and there are so many cities and towns with so many things to do in each. Then there’s islands, caves, underground cavern’s, mountains, and everything to keep you occupied. There are living toys that you can use in battle which make me think of Pokemon and there are a total of 70 of them. In addition to the toys, there’s a whole battle system that let’s you as well as the monster to level up, get new weapons and armor, use spells, and more. For addictiveness, I give 10. As for the story, I had mentioned most of the story before. You find a little monster and you bring it home. It sounds simple, but the entire journey itself is full of unexpected twists, devastating battles, and just about everything else that you can think of. Story also gets a 10. Again, there is so much to do, the game has one of the longest storylines that could ever be given to a game at the time and because of this, the depth of the game is outrageous. Once you combine the huge map with the amount of quests and the battle system with all the toys, you should agree that the game is deep. For depth, I give the game a 10. As for the difficulty of the game, I rate it as a 4. The game is not hard at all, and even the quests that do seem a bit challenging, you would be happy if you fail them because you get so much EXP and money. Other than these few challenging aspects, the game is very easy. As for the overall grade of the game, it’s my favorite game ever and I believe it’s the only game that I ever gave a perfect score to, that’s right, 10. I really wish a sequel or a remake would be made or that the game would be released on the PSN in American because then many more gamers would get a chance to test out this game for themselves and they will find that I am telling the truth of this game. Eh, I was shocked by the title. Giving one game the ultimate title of "The Greatest Game Ever"? Also, I know I'm being critical of your review (that's my job in this situation) but 10's in all but one category? The one score that isn't a 10 is pretty much overlooked in the final score. A more accurate representation of the final score would be - 10+10+10+10+10+4=54/6=9 Finally, the writing feels rushed but I will agree that you did try and convince me that this game deserves the score that you've given it. I'm also going to compliment you on reviewing a game that isn't Mega Man, Pokémon, Sonic, etc. 10+10+10+10+10+4=54/6=9 Finally, the writing feels rushed but I will agree that you did try and convince me that this game deserves the score that you've given it. Time for Leggy to poke a hole in that logic. Overall score shouldn't include difficulty, I personally never account for difficulty when making a final score. I agree the game shouldn't be a 10, because that's ridiculous. No game is perfect. However, difficulty has very little (if nothing) to do with how good a game is. Ever play Super Mario 64? One of the greatest games of all time. Easy as hell. Ever play Dark Souls? One of the most overrated games of all time, and difficult as hell. Difficulty does not correlate to how good a game is. It can help a score, but it can't really "hurt" one if that makes sense. Time for Leggy to poke a hole in that logic. legacyme3 : Good point. I guess I was trying to bring the overall score back to reality by averaging it into the 10's but, you're right, the difficulty score shouldn't work that way. |

Right, I totally agree with you though, this game is nowhere near a 10. And his entire review is so vague and general I actually have serious doubts as to whether or not he's truly played the game.
