Nowadays, school is no longer for just learning. Nope. The goal is that you just HAVE to be the star of the Football team, or you have to be the lady's man! This of course increases bullying. Does this bother you on your campus?  It's pretty annoying that the popular kids like to pick on kids smaller than them because they feel as if they have power on you. School used to just be about learning to get education. Now it's just a feud for popularity. You'll get picked on for being good (Like me) or getting picked on for being very skinny (Like me when I was  in Elementary). Am I the only one here bothered by this?

Yes... I am definitely annoyed by this. Especially in my school. Sometimes, my teachers wouldn't teach that much and the students would just become a popularity contest. They do nothing but try to make themselves very popular. lol. I guess... It doesn't really happen often but sometimes it does happen at certain days. 

Yeah, I totally agree with your point. There are so many people in my school that are total snobs, and I can not take it. 

mohammedroxx3 : I remember in Elementary I was the smartest in the school and I wasn't very strong so I was picked last in kickball every time because I couldn't kick the ball more then ten feet or whatever.

For some reason, my school isn't about popularity. From what I see, it's not just about learning either. Where I go to, it's also about trying your very best, respect, and doing well in class. There is no popularity going on at school, but there has been bullying before, and some students don't give respect either.

I can't say I am bothered thanks to that...but I have heard about schools that are only focused on popularity. That sounds rather bothersome...

There's to much of them at my school. Honestly I'm the only smart one in nearly all of my classes while the rest of them don't even care a single bit about there education.

I agree with you 100% popularity interferes with learning in school and it is rather annoying to me. It is all about status and it gets in the way of learning anything. Kids in my school are so stupid and ignorant and I just get upset about their lack of maturity. 


I just wish that these kids would grow up already, it is starting to get on my nerves with the way they act. They should just smell the fresh air already and grow up. They are all acting like ignorant children. Then again these are the same people who will be working at mcdonalds because they were too focused in popularity during their years of school instead of actually learning. 

So I agree with you on this, it is all about dumb popularity and who is on he football team and it is just so dumb in my opinion. It just gets on my last nerves.

School is more about popularity now, instead of learning. It's just completely out of hand, and just irritating. No, I'm not bullied. But I still find it completely ludicrous.

They want to popular just to impress others. It's just pointless, due to the fact that 2 out of 3 times they'll never meet these people again. I mean, sure, fun is okay. But just trying to be popular is... Ugh.

But, think about it like this: If it wasn't like this, we'd ALL be complaining about how boring school is.

We'd be bored out of our minds. Sure, we'd be learning, but we'd also be drained from fun. Trying to strive for popularity is one of the ways school is a social place. If there weren't kids like that, school would equal... Well, an army base. All discipline and loyalty.

Yes, they're really irritating. But come on, we kind of have to thank them in a way.

Most kids I know at my school just come to school to impress all the other people, Here Is an example, Everyday at lunch, These kids named Edgar Jesus And Jesus And Jeffery Are always picking on random kids and just trying to impress them In whatever ways they can! They do this just to annoy me, They really think they are cool for school But they are not! Now this other high kid named Stephon Pittman Is the absolute worst! Everyday he is annoying everybody else and You know, Some people actually like this guy, But me and my friends just hate him alot! Do these guys even learn anything here? No! There's a reason why popularity is so important. School is pretty much preparing you guys for the world outside of it. Education is obviously not enough to survive in today's fast paced environment. If you don't know how to get along with other people and make yourself well known in school, then it's most likely you're not going to be able to do the same when you get out of school. Heck, communication is so important that they made it into a class in several schools.
