The Pokemon Rom Hacking competition deadline has been extended by 3 months. The deadline was originally October 16th, 2013 but the new deadline is January 21st, 2014. The reason for the extension is due to the lack of hacks submitted for the competition. With this extension, there's plenty of time to start making your own Pokemon hack and way more than enough time to finish any hacks you might have in progress for the competition.


For those who don't know, the Pokemon Rom Hacking competition gives you the tools and knowledge to make your very own Pokemon adventures and rewards you $200+ for doing so.

This is great, now I can finally get working on the hack I originally had planned, I had barely gotten anything done with it, but now that the deadline has an extension I should definitely be able to get a lot done and hopefully complete the hack.


I think now a lot more hacks will finally be closer if not already completed. It has been in my mind since, but I thought I would just forget about it because of a lack of time to dedicate to making the hack, but with the extension, I should be able to get the hack done. 

Dang, I hate the competitions I'm literally too stupid to compete in, I am interested in learning how to hack a game though, I think I'll give it a shot.

This really doesn't effect me, other then the fact that if this was eirlyer, I would have gotten more time to do my part in Earthwarriors hack.

Well, now that there is some extra time, maybe I actually would have enough time to finish the game that I recently started working on. Only time will tell though. Thanks for the extra time.

This update couldn't come at a better time! I've been working so hard on the scripting and the storyline and a few of my friends said they would help me out with a few things. I had so many plans and suggestions that when I thought I was done, it looked like I wasn't even half-way there! Bugs popped up when my boyfriend tried to play it and I was unsatisfied with the title I had picked out but couldn't think of anything else. I was going to submit it today, but I wasn't happy with what I was submitting. As well as the fact that my two closest friends said they would do music and character sprites for me and they both started having troubles with life and couldn't complete everything they wanted to, either. So now, there's plenty of time to make my hack something I can be proud of, even if I don't win anything, and that makes me so happy!

LocksmithArmy : I apologize that this did happen (you're basically the only one this negatively affects), I should've had the competition longer to begin with, me having no experience with Pokemon rom hacking made me underestimate how long it takes to make a Pokemon hack.

You could always work on a 2nd Pokemon hack, or even a sequel to your last one. Either of those 2 options would increase your chances of winning
