Saved by a Vaccinated Disease A "World War Z" Movie Review by thing1 Brad Pitt plays the father of two young girls, and the loyal husband who used to work with the United Nations. He quit his job to be with his family. The movie starts off with the two kids running into the parents room, and waking up the parents, wanting pancakes for breakfast. Very cute scene. Garry ( Brad Pitt ) gets out of bed to make the pancakes, and then as the kids are walking out of the door with Mom, tells them to get the plates off of the table. Mom yells that they will do it when they get back. Next scene, they are stuck in traffic, I assume in New York. A cop on a motorcycle takes out the side view mirror his their car, and then the outbreak starts in New York. They are stuck in New York over night with a Mexican couple in an apartment building who are nice enough to let them in when they are being chased by the zombies through the hallways. When Garry offers the family ( a husband, wife, and a son ) to come with them ( Garry's old friend at the UN calls Garry to get him and his family out of the zombie zone, only to help him, which Garry does not know at this time ), they politely refuse, and ask them if they need anything before they leave. As soon as they leave, the parents are infected, but you see the boy save Garry just in time... without his parents. After they get the navy ship, Garry's friend tells him that he needs his help, and Garry politely refuses, saying he quit his job in the first place because of his family. Then the captain of the ship basically black mails Garry into going to helping this young doctor (who dies right away because he shoots himself on accident after tripping on the plane because he can't keep his finger off the trigger when Garry has told him to do just that. ) to find a cure. They start in North Korea, where an email / memo was sent out to certain people, containing the word " zombie " in it. After that does not fall through, they get a lead to Israel, where it is zombie free, and there is a wall to keep the zombies out of Jerusalem. Well, after Garry investigates there, the noise by the people in the streets singing praises ( I can only assume that they were praises ) become to loud, the who place is over run by the zombies climbing on top of each other to the point where they get over the wall. Garry barely makes it out with a woman of the Israeli Army, who is bitten. Garry saved her by cutting off her arm above the point where she was bitten. Their chopper is taken down by the zombies, so they go back to the airport, where the chopper was supposed to take them to the aircraft that brought them there. As soon as they got there, it takes off. So they get on a commercial flight. Garry calls his UN friend, exchanging Intel. He eventually gives the phone to the pilot, who talks to Garry's UN friend. The satellite phone dies, but not before the pilot finished the call. They end up heading towards somewhere ( I can't remember where, if they even mentioned the name of the city) to some kind of research lab. The plane just so happens to have ONE ZOMBIE on board, locked up in one of the closet. It starts to infect EVERYBODY. The plane ends up crash landing, after Garry takes a grenade off of the woman, and throws it at the zombies. After Garry's UN friend does not hear anything from him for 72 hours, the captain kicks Garry's family off the ship, and sends them to a "safe place" in Nova Scotia ( It actually was safe, for the record. ), despite Garry's UN friend protesting to the captain, saying he had promised Garry that he would look out for his family. They eventually find the research lab, but Garry collapses right outside of the gate. He is knocked out for 3 days while they get the piece of medal out of his body that went straight through his body, just under his ribs. After he wakes up, he has them talk to his UN friend, and they finally let him up off the bed they had him in, chained to it by the wrists. So, they talk for a little bit, trying to figure out a solution. Then, Garry gets this bright idea that maybe a deadly disease would mask them from the zombies. So, they agree to let him try. Only problem is... All the vaccines are in the B wing... and that is where about 80 ex - researchers, now zombies are, only connected by a sky bridge. The vaccines are in vault 139. The woman goes with him, along with one of the researchers that was not in B Wing. They end up getting found, so the woman and the researcher go a separate way while Garry distracts the zombies. Somehow, the zombies end up chasing the woman and researcher again... But Garry eventually finds Vault 139, and gets in after a phone call from another researcher who is keeping eyes on him with the camera system gives him the code to get in, instead of breaking the glass to get in with his crowbar. He gets all the vaccines he wants in a tin case, and then turns to leave, but there is a zombie right there outside of the door. He has no choice but to give himself the shot, and try out his theory on himself. It ends up working. The research organization releases a statement, and the remaining humans start to get aircraft drop offs of the vaccine, to mask themselves with the vaccines. Garry is re-united with his family. Cinematography: 7 out of 10. The visual effects in this movie were pretty good. But, the camera was extremely jumpy at the bigger action scenes, and it really made me dizzy a few times. So, it balances itself out and gets itself a 7 of 10. Sound: 9 out of 10. There was just the right of audio special effects, and what not going on. There wasn't anything too annoying. Actually, everything was just right. The only reason it does not get a perfect ten is because... well, I think a few of the less important characters could have been casted better. Re-watch-ability: 8 out of 10. It's a zombie movie... yes, I know this. But we all know how the woman are when it comes to "cute guys", according to the women, so that of course factors in. But, it seemed to me that when Garry was narrating at the end of the movie, they kind of left it open for a sequel, but at the same time, made it to where one was not really necessary. If there is a sequel, then you will definitely have to watch this one a few more times before the sequel. Depth: 7 out of 10. Come on... it's a zombie movie. You can't really get much more into depth that it being... "OH MEH GAWD!!! ZOMBIES!!! SHOOT THEM!!!! " The only reason it gets a 7 is because of how they went about solving the problem... They solved the problem with a Vaccinated Disease... Wow. That is definitely original, and it gets them some points to help them out in this category. Story: 9 out of 10. For a zombie movie... it's the best I have seen since Zombieland. You had Garry fighting to save the world. The movie never really tells you what he did for the United Nations, but it didn't really matter, because he did a great job doing his part in the movie. For a zombie movie this good, that is all I am going to say. You need to go see it yourself. Audience: 9 out of 10. For a zombie movie that had been getting a lot of negative reviews, and with me hearing a lot of bad things about it from friends and family, I was surprised at how many people were there for it. It was just as hard to find a seat as it was for The Lone Ranger, and this was in a smaller room, so of course there were less seats. That said, and nobody left during the entire thing... FOR A ZOMBIE MOVIE?!?!?! Yeah... a 9 out of a 10. Overall: 8.2 You know, this movie was pretty good. In terms of Zombie movies, this goes right up there with Zombieland and the Resident Evil saga. I would not be surprised if a sequel did come out, since they left an opening for it. The language was pretty good throughout, and the casting was done pretty well for the most part. BluemageKyle : I used to do game reviews, so it's not entirely new. I was even RGR Staff at one point. Really, dude, you should go see this movie though. Not like other Zombie Movies. |

Very well done, I couldn't find anything I could add to. I'm not much of a critic, but I thought it was good too! |

mohammedroxx3 : Well, this is the first one I told about the story line... do you think I should keep that up? I used to be a game reviewer on the RGR Staff. I stepped down so I could go join the Army though. Walkingprodigy : I see you saw my post. Nice to see that. Also... if you look in this sub-forum of play4fun's rented forum, you will see a thread that has all of my movie reviews... Walkingprodigy : I see you saw my post. Nice to see that. Wow, this is a very good review for a movie, your review makes me want to go see it, which I am going to see soon. You really have a skill for writing these kinds of reviews and going into depth with them like this. I have actually read some of your other reviews and reviews for movies and I think that you do a really good job with writing them. Keep up the amazing work man, and I am going to see this movie soon. Your review is presented and put into detail very nicely which is very important. Keep up the amazing work! |

Razor-987 : Thanks for the reassurance, friend. mohammedroxx3 : I don't do game reviews anymore. I even turned down a position offered to me late last year. I can't find games to review, and I don't go into the RGR that much, except for tournaments. Now, if I could get a job as a Movie Reviewer, I would take it, but it's unlikely.
