It is indeed gonna happen but a release date has yet to be determined.

Course sorting:





Introduced in smash bros this seperates nitro retro and custom courses(Divided up into wii u memory and wii u hard drive)each will feature 32 courses while 32 courses can be saved to wii u memory and wii u hard drive.








Custom Courses:





No more hacking the game YAY! In order to do this take the wii u hard drive and make your course utilizing paint or whatever and save it as a .GIF image then move it to wii u hard drive then open up course creator. It will be the same as it was on the computer after you saved it. You must now add scenory a finish/start line determine where items/coins go ETC. After that save it then you can either copy it to wii u or fully move it over. Once the course is created it will turn into a valid .mkwiiu file(such as GBA shy guy beach.mkwiiu) if you move it over to your computer from wii u hard drive it will be removed from your custom courses. You can even download custom courses that nintendo made or from someone else. Once downloaded move the .mkwiiu file to the wii u hard drive then go to grand prix and load it up. unlocks at rank 10








Ranks:





To get to the next rank you must get experiance points. doing various stuff will award it. Collecting red coins double your speed and earns you experiance.








Coins





These come back but they are used in kart/bike customization unlocked at rank 30. and they increase your speed(not double)

I agree these things would make the next Mario Kart game really good I may buy a wii u just for this one game for I love the series at least it didn't go downhill unlike Pokemon.
