Overall The game overall is very simple, you are playing as Pac Man and your objective is to clear the maze and eat all the pac dots while going waka waka waka waka the entire time. Your can also eat the 4 power pellets and eat the 4 ghosts for big points as well as eat the special fruit in the middle that varies in point values with each level, but don't get tagged, seems simple enough right? I thought so too until I couldn't pass level 4 without loosing. Overall I scored this fun classic game a 9.5 out of 10, it was one of the first, and in my opinion still one of the best games out there.



Graphics: Well let's be honest here, pac man is not known for outstanding graphics and that is not what the game is for either, the important thing is about clearing the maze, the graphics are really simple and really basic in the original pac man, although there are some graphics for games that vary, but pac man graphics are meant to be simple, it was one of the first video games, give it a break, I scored it a 5 out of 10 because they are very simple and basic but still are fun to play with.





Sound: The sound is very simple like the graphics, the only thing you really here is the introduction music and pac man chomping up the pellets and that is basically it, and occasionally eating a ghost and let's not forget waka waka waka waka and unfortunately when he looses a life. The sounds are very simple and not overly special but they do provide a classic arcade feel to go with the game to make it more fun and enjoyable. I scored the sound a 5 out of 10 as well just because of their simplicity and how they also put you into a gaming mode when playing the game as well.



Addictiveness: Well if there was a game that used to be very addicting it is Pac Man, I always keep playing to try to beat my high score and get revenge on those ghosts, the addictiveness of the game is one of its main attributes and that is what makes it fun! The addictiveness comes in when the levels get increasingly more difficult to finish and stall the ghost of longer in an attempt to complete the maze, in the higher levels the ghosts get faster and the power pellets last much shorter and it becomes difficult to finish the maze. So yes the game is very addictive and trillions of quarters have been spent on this game to get the top score, I scored the addictiveness a 9 out of 10 because that is one of its main quality functions and if pac man hasn't gotten you hooked yet then he just isn't doing his job now is he?


Story: As for story...well there is none! There is only an objective to finish all of the pellets without being tagged by the ghosts and loosing a life! It is very simple and there is no story line or plot included in the game, so there isn't very much to say about it and I scored it a 3 out of 10, simple as that.


Depth: The game can progress for 256 long levels, and if you can manage to get that far and post a screenshot then you have some serious pac man skills. As the game progresses and the ghosts become faster and immune to the power pellets to where they have almost no affect at all and completing the maze proves to be increasingly difficult, laugh at me now I have only successfully made it to level 7 (fist pump) so that just tells you how hard it can be, and each level offers a different item fruit in the middle each time and they become worth more every level, I rated the depth a 7 out of 10 which seems good enough because of how the combined difficulty and activeness make it very challenging and fun to play.


Difficulty: At first it doesn't seem very difficult after a few levels but then the ghosts really crack down and it becomes extremely hard to beat the levels as they get harder. But as for controls in the gameplay it is really easy to pick up on, there is only one simple function just move using the arrow keys and be quick when you are surrounded by ghosts and that is basically it, anyone can pick up on the simple controls, the real problem is trying to stay alive and not get tagged by the ghosts. I scored the difficulty a 5 because it does escalate as you get higher on in the levels.

Excellent review! I'm a big fan of this game obviously (just look at my username!) and I've been playing Pac-Man (not this version though) since I was 7. I've been playing it for 6 years and it's still very addicting for me
