In terms of looks, I was always partial to Pidgeotto. Not Pidgeot or Pidgey, but Pidgeotto. Reason is the first episode I ever saw of the Pokémon Anime back in middle school was the Mt. Moon episode. When Ash released Pidgeotto for a fight or clearing up smog or something, I thought it looked like the coolest thing ever! Since then, I always have loved Pidgeotto!

In terms of game mechanics, my favorite was Chansey on the original Red/Blue. I entered a competition with it and it destroyed Mewtwos because back in that version, Chansey could learn Bide and had amazing Hp! Ticked many people off with that, Starmie, and of course my own Mewtwo just because everyone and their mother had one.

In the current gaming style, I happen to like Blaziken. Looks cool, plays anywhere from decent to freaking awesome, and the first Fire/Fighting starter before that became old hat.

I also like Porygon, but never could find a way to make him work. I hear his evolutionary forms are good but just never had the chance to mess with it.

My favorite Pokemon would have to be Hydreigon. I've always liked Dragon types, but when I saw Hydreigon, I knew that it would be my favorite. I love it's typing. Dragon, which I love, and Dark which is awesome. The three heads, along with the red eyes also makes it look better. Another important reason is that it IS usable in a competitive battle unlike some cool looking pokemon. So, those are the reasons that Hydreigon is my favorite pokemon.

I have quite a few favourite Pokémon I like for aesthetics or for stats. But for this I'll try and focus on stats and move pools. I really love Ninetails not just for it's elegant design but it can have drought as an ability through the dream world. But that does make it way to overpowered. Garchomp is a good Pokémon because while it does have the major quadruple weakness to ice it is a brutal tank with it's high speed and attack not to mention it's a freaking LAND SHARK.
