I use ePSXe. I haven't used the other emulator, but I've had pretty good experience with ePSXe.

epsxe. It's a bit hard to setup, but it does an amazing job.

I'd say get both, and use PSX first, and if that doesn't work you should configure an ePSXe configuration for that game.

Best solution.

personally i say use epsxe then if a game doesnt work on it try psx.
i havnt checked but i think the epsxe compatibility is higher.
also epsxe allows for different plugins, which makes it more vesatile.

Yeah, but PSX doesn't need plugins. Heaps easier to get working so to say.

i know psx doesnt need plugins. it may be easy to get running, but it has a lot of limitations because it has no plugins.
its limited to what the coders can do, while epsxe can use some more enhanced graphics and clearing sound.
i'll do a comparison list a bit later down the track of differences in the games each can run.
but in simplest terms: if you are lazy and dont care how it looks/sounds use psx.
if you want better chance of good graphics/sound and are willing to read or watch a guide and take maybe 2 minutes more to set it up use epsxe.

DM: dont get me wrong, i will try psx some more and compare, im not trying to bad mouth psx

Oh I know but what I'm saying is pretty much this:

Use PSX, if you're not happy with the result then make an specific ePSXe configuration for that game.

Best result in least amount of time!

Thanks everyone. Tried both and there seems to be a lag with PSX, there are some music cuts and slowdowns, also animations slowdown sometimes. So I tried ePSXe and it works like a wonder. No lag whatsoever, there were just a few minor animation interruptions in Xenogears during the intro, but far less than when I ran it in PSX, so overall I'm really happy with ePSXe. THANKS!

It does provide instant gratification. I think I'll switch if I have trouble with ePSXe.
