What are some shows that you enjoyed watching that made you upset when they were canceled?

The Legend of Zelda cartoon. That was amazing, and I'm sure all Zelda fans agree.

Yanno... I know there have been these... but I can't think of any off hand. I'm sure someone'll mention mine... the only thing I could think of (and this was silly) is that I was slightly disappointed that the Gieco Caveman show was cancelled so soon... but that was kinda stupid, so it's not too big a deal.

Now this is gonna bug me until I figure out what shows I REALLY loved and saw cancelled...

CobraGuy : There were a couple… I liked Lie to Me with Tim Roth and a show called Blind Justice that was on several years back. I don’t know why they cancel shows other then lack of decent ratings but they do have an alternative now with all the streaming services out there that they could move shows to those platforms rather than outright cancelling those shows. I still want to know why NBC put the original Law and order on hiatus. The reason why I say hiatus is because there was no finale to anything and it kind of left on an inconclusive note. Just one guy’s opinion.

bvd1022 : For the original Law & Order, NBC and Dick Wolf could not come to some sort of agreement related to producing a 21st season. What they were not able to agree on, I have no idea, but they in part did it, I believe, to push the new series Law & Order: LA. There have been so many series--almost all successful--that they probably didn't want four different L&Os on at the same time. Ironically, LA&O: LA ended up a flop, canceled after only one season of 22 episodes, but the damage for the original series was already done.

You bring up a good point which is key for me as well: suddenly canceling a show with plots meant to be continued next season. One show that was canceled that made me mad was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World which ended in a huge cliff hanger. They had plans for only one more season (so then the show would have been wrapped up nicely) but instead it was dropped.  On the other hand (and this was a first as far as I recall) once they knew there was no chance of reviving the show, the producers let fans know what was going to happen if they had been able to produce another season. So even though we were left with a cliff hanger, they did their best to bring closer to the show for fans.

CobraGuy : To be honest I think one of the reasons Law and Order LA didn’t do well was in a way retaliation from long time Law and Order fans. They didn’t like that NBC canceled or put Law and Order on hiatus for this spin off which when you get right down to it, it didn’t really look like an authentic Law and Order like series. I think it turned people off. I also think that it was in a way retaliation after they cancelled Law and Order: Trial by Jury several years back without really giving it a chance. To be fair a lot of what did Trial by Jury in was what happened to Jerry Orbach but the series was still good on it’s own and it had a solid cast. NBC just didn’t give it nearly the amount of time that they should have. Had there been streaming services back then I think Trial by Jury could have survived. They definitely gave LA much more of a chance than they gave Trial by Jury and I just think that it left a bad taste in fans’ mouths.

ABC was kind of in the same shoes with Blind Justice and Detroit 187. Both were very good shows, both had solid casts and solid plots but when you get down to it neither was really given a chance. I think part of the mindset of the powers that be for those networks could have to do with advertising but again I think it’s mainly ratings and an over emphasis on ratings. Sometimes shows take time to find it’s core audience and take time to develop solid ratings.

If you look how Fox was originally shows like Married…with Children (One of my personal favorites along with The Simpsons) and a few other shows, they were all given time to find their audience and although I don’t think most Fox shows, especially in the 80’s and early 90’s were considered ratings winners they still did very well because again they were given time to find and develop their core audience.

Although Fox is still good I prefer how the network was back then as opposed to now. Just my personal opinion.

Stevie 764 : I’ve been there I still have a lot of tapes myself. I record a lot of DVDs now but I still keep the tapes in case I need it for reference or something. What I should do one of these days is go through all my tapes figure out what’s on the ones that aren’t labeled and then convert them to DVD. Would make things much easier. I probably have more recorded DVDs now than I ever did tapes.

Did anyone ever watch John Doe?  The show was absolutely fantastic, and it was riveting enough to keep you on the edge of your seat every time!  We absolutely ADORED the show, and when we found out there was no other season, we were SO disappointed!  The last episode especially made it so hard to accept the fact.  It was SO good!!!!!

Why did they cancel Jersey Shore? Oh, wait, I remember why.

But seriously, I will agree that Lost should have kept on going.

Well, Lost was not so much canceled as it was rushed to be finished... But I agree it probably needed one more season to get things just right, but I am satisfied enough they were able to give it an ending.

I am still sad about "Heroes" being cancelled. It still was a pretty good show, but they had one more season to wrap it up nicely, yet it got canceled. Well, at least the last season could count as an okay open ending, but you could tell there was a lot left to be desired.

I also enjoyed watching The Nine back when it was on like, right after Lost, but I can see why they canceled it; you can only stretch out a few days of bank robbery so much before you run out of material. Still, I think everything should be allowed to be properly ended in some way.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends could have gone on longer too, but at least the general idea of how it was to end is online to let us know. (unless they actually WERE aired, but I never saw them).

I was upset when Medium was forced to close end their show a little early, but they made a phenomenal ending at least, unlike poor Cold Case, which did not really end on any sort of solid note.

And lastly, I serious hate, HATE that Dead Like Me was cancelled by showtime. At least a mini-movie was made to help close out loose ends and make a sort-of ending to it (though they left it open enough in case they have a chance to do another movie, but it's doubtful another will be made).

One show I wish wasn't cancelled was Samurai Jack, that show was awesome. What made it really annoying about it being cancelled is that they didn't end it, the story was this samurai who was sent into the future by a evil wizard/demon thing named Auku, and throughout the series Jack is trying to go back in his own time. It was a cool show with a cool setting, story, epic action scenes, and it just ended without any closure.

The few shows I hate got cancelled were the ones that got their final episode shortly after I was born: Family Matters, Step by Step, and Seinfeld. I would've loved to have been alive to see the older episodes when they were still fresh.

You know, one show or anime that I loved when I was a kid was Trigun, and it was a good series, and unless you watched all the episodes or even read the anime, you wouldn't be able to fully follow it. I loved that anime, and it always made me wonder why they cancelled it. Then again, there were probably a lot of people that didn't seem to follow it either way, but, that doesn't mean that I did, well...another show that I wondered upon why it was cancelled was the Beetlejuice the TV Series, it was pretty funny and wonky, hardly anything like the movie, but, still, I loved that show as a kid, and Beetlejuice was one of my main idol characters growing up, so, yeah. lol.

Android89 : OMG I remember that show. I can't believe that it was canceled as I loved that show as a kid.

duckospm : Glad that you posted some shows that you liked, but we are talking about TV shows that were canceled. Last time I checked (or I should say my friend checked as he likes anime shows, I don't really care for anime) Bleach was still on the air.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
