Every genre of music has their hits and misses. I'm actually a fan of pretty much every genre (even country, which I remember hating as a kid, although nowadays country would be the last thing I would listen to out of most genres of music).

And yes, even dubstep. Some people may say that dubstep and all techno in general are just noises with no meaning, but I find those noises awesome to listen to when I'm working out. I basically have a genre of music set and ready on my phone to play for many situations.

When you say "techno," are you using that as an umbrella term for all of electronic music? Even if you don't like it, why must you hate it? I am personally not a big fan of rock music these days, but I don't hate on the artists. It's just not my cup of tea (usually). I'll admit though, I'm not particularly a fan of contemporary techno music. However, there are artists that I do like that have music with techno-influenced beats that I'm into like Death Grips, Azealia Banks, Weeknd, and Kelis's last album.

Maybe the techno that you've heard has fit the stereotypical caricature painted by critics/haters, but if you look beneath the surface and/or look back at the 1990s electronic music output, you just might find music that tries to be cold, robotic, futuristic, while at the same time, warm, technically superb, and funky. Here is the first song that I think of that speaks to me like that:

too many people generalize ELECTRONIC MUSIC as a whole (and even separate genres, like dubstep) too quickly.
using the whole "it's just random noise" thing to criticuze dubstep, for example, FROM your experience with Skrillex, who ISN'T dubstep.
this kind of thing happens all the time...
otherwise, there are as many branches, sub-branches, and offshoots as with organic/non-electronic music.. you're just gonna have to find whaqt you dig and delve more deeply... Today, more than ever, you will NEVER find what you seek in EDM on the radio..

I don't like it at all but like rap and others its gonna be there. But the reason I don't like it is because there is no passion. just a computer being stabbed with a power drill.

Techno is a subgenre of electronic music.

Also, what are your grounds on saying that it isn't real music? It has more instruments used in making it than any other genre.

Techno is generally upbeat electronic music, Progressive House and Dubstep are more commonly used.

With Gangnam Style, that's common K-Pop. It's much better seeing something with meaning and choreography than people dry humping on stage, if you ask me.

I can guess that it's not your cup of tea, but at least research or try real electronic music before you blindly hate it.

notice how everyone uses this as an argument "hurr durr techno is better than justin bieber" who CARES about justin bieber? only thing i hate worse than JB fans are people that constantly bring him up, we get it he sucks, now shut up, and stop beating a dead horse, techno being better than justin bieber is not an argument, techno is not real music, it is computerized and does not even use any real instrument, the basis of music. repeating sounds and noises does not classify as music. It is a horrible genre. now before people get mad at me and say what do i like, well my favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Pixies, Ritchie blackmore's Rainbow,Red Hot Chili Peppers, E.L.O, Metallica, And the Smiths, i have plenty of other bands i love but you get the picture. Those bands are amazing, whether you agree or not they all have had plenty of success in their careers, Techno just annoys me, and the fans are pretty bad as well. im tired of it too.

Techno is ok music although it's evolution into "Dubstep" is not something that I personally enjoy. To each their own I guess.

Honestly you could say that about a lot of music these days. Look at rap music post 2000, it's basically horrid.

I don't like it, it's not real music, and I normally feel like I'm the only one at school who listens to Green Day.

The only techno I like are remixes of my favorite songs form video games.

Anyone claiming that it's not real music needs to realize how much technology goes into making an album for anyone else in the music business now. Most pop stars have a lot of technology supporting their music.

Also, saying you hate "techno" is a pretty broad statement. There is so much music that falls under that broad term and to say you hate all of it means you haven't listened to enough of it. There is more variety of music in "techno" than in your "pop", "country", "rock", or "rap" genres.

Techno is a rough patch for me, I don't hate it but I don't love it either.
I get the amount of work involved to make some of the techno music of today, but when it comes down to enjoying the music all the time, I cant say I do.
Some I can listen to and really get in to it and enjoy it, others will give me a headache.
So my stand on it is I'm in between, I like some but not all.

No.. I have never really liked techno. I'm more of a rap - hip hop - pop kinda girl. The only techno I have ever really liked is games I have played.

Techno is rarely in circulation anymore; it was in its prime in early 2000's and late 90's. All electronic music [house, dubstep, trance, hardstyle, happy hardcore, trap, etc] isn't techno.  When saying "techno" it'd be better if you were more specific so I knew what you were talking about lol. 
And why do you hate it? At least give a reason. I understand if people "hate it" because it's "not real music" but meh. 

I'm a raver so I love EDM- but I can't stand typical techno music. I'm more into hardstyle.

A lot of people have told me that they can't tell the difference between that ^^ and dubstep; but dubstep has a lot of wobbles and a ton of bass; hardstyle has bass but very little wobble and "Skrillex" type noises.

Thank you very much! I doubt this stuff will take the place of EBM/darkelectro/aggrotech/industrial in my heart when it comes to "electronic" music but I enjoyed all the songs nonetheless.

The tune by Acti was the one I could think of how come people would compare it to dubstep, maybe. All the songs in my ear though were very varied and did not sound the same. Dark Oscillators were my favourite of the bunch. Really made me want to move.
