This blog will be used to update everyone about what's going on at camp. As we all know, camp can be a difficult time, and several people may not adjust to the fast life style. As a result, I've taken it upon myself to recap at least the basics. I don't know everything, nor claim to.

If you wish to submit something for a daily blog here, please PM it to me, and I'll include it in the daily updates! If I forget to update, don't hate me! Even I'm prone to mistakes!

OK, so here's the update on what happened during the first day of "camp"

June 30th 2012 - Day 0

Today, all the campers got assigned to cabins, and they met their teammates.

We'll recap what each cabin went through one by one.

Cabin 1 - Yet unnamed team (awaiting confirmation from team captain)

After a lot of arguing between the alpha males and female, they eventually agreed to make their captain a rock. Yes. A rock. It'll make communication between myself and them quite difficult, but I'm sure we'll manage. They had yet to "officially" choose their team name, but it appears they are very close to confirming their choice. They'll be the last team to submit a team name. But slow and steady wins the race right?

No individual awards or team awards for them today.

Cabin 2 - The Ultimate Vizzards

After the longest discussion between team members, they finally agreed on a team captain. thing1 is the new leader of Cabin 2. I'm not sure he's who my vote would have gone to, but that's just me thinking out loud. Don't have a cow, I'm a counselor! Joking aside, they seemed to get along ok enough, and didn't argue a whole ton. More of it was peaceful disagreement about who the captain should be.

Once they got past that, they were pretty much unanimous with a name... until thing1 used his new captain powers to get the rest (or close to it) of his team into chat to discuss a new team name. They would have won bonus points for using Vizzed in the title of their new team name if I had been giving bonus points. Unfortunately, they have to wait till tomorrow to be judged. The Ultimate Vizzards though, are an ok cabin, and will merit further watching.

Cabin 3 - Slam Dunk Base

There was little debate as to who captain of Cabin 3 would be, as pacman1755 was pretty much unanimously voted team captain, once starwars293 agreed to settle for being his assistant. No real arguments at all, as they seem to be a close knit group despite the random assignment. Being a mod should work in pacman's favor, as he has the leadership required of a captain!

Also, kudos for being the first team to settle on a team name. They could be either the most like minded team, or the most agreeable team. But whatever the case, they have chosen to name themselves Slam Dunk Base. I don't know what that's a reference of, but it sounds cool! For the most part, they kept quiet, and appear to be the mellow cabin of the bunch.

Cabin 4 - The Fighting Mongooses

I like what they have seemingly chosen to do with their captain role, as they appear to be doing it by committee and sharing the power. While not totally unlike them, Team 1 chose to elect a rock, instead of outright saying they were sharing the power. Which speaks volumes about their teamwork

But no seriously, I dig the Futurama reference in the team's name. They seem to get along fantastically, and everyone just gels together, which is totally cool! A lot of their discussion didn't really interest me, but they definitely appear to be using a lot more thought early on. Which is a major bonus going forward. We'll watch from afar, and hope they don't explode.

No individual awards or team awards for them today.

Also, I'll use this space to note that while today a lot has happened, it won't always be the case, so I'm prone to making up a story just for the amusement of readers. If it is not true, from now on I will indicate it by putting it in bold like below.

KG and Snowdeath planned a conspiracy to take down Team 1 from the inside out.

While it won't always be as outrageous as that, it's not to be taken seriously, and will more often than not just be a joke.

On top of getting points for winning competitions, I can award points for something deemed particularly special (like if someone breaks a record, or if someone does something otherwise noteworthy)

It will unlikely see a lot of use, but I'll also be using it to announce who wins each competition. So there is a use for it, and a way to tell everyone who won which contest. But as today's contest isn't over till tomorrow, there's no point to giving points yet

July 1st 2012 - Day 1

Today was the first "official" day of camp. Everyone from KG to starwars293, from JigSaw to A Rock arrived, and got settled for a crazy two months full of adventure, friendships, betrayal and story telling.

Cabin 1 - Trailmachines: The Fellowship of Right

When we last checked in, they had yet to officially agree on a team name. They also had a much different look. Why was this?

the_casualty grew sick of the campground. (Something about the campsite being too hot, and his bunk bed being too hard.) As such, pokemon x took up lodgings in the cabin, and they did not miss a beat. While they didn't win the naming competition, they did get 2nd, and got 5 points torwards the championship.

But moving on to present matters, they had a flag to make. This flag has yet to even see a rough draft. With the deadline being tomorrow, one has to wonder if they are doing this on purpose to build suspense. What could their flag be? We'll find out tomorrow!

Long story short, Day 1 was very long for Cabin 1. And they must understandably be tired as all hell. Good fight Cabin 1!

2nd in Team Naming Competition - 5 points

Cabin 2 - The Ultimate Vizzards

Last we checked in on them, they had a captain, a name, and were in bed early for the next day.

Since then however, they did acquire quite the talent in JigSaw who will DEFINITELY be someone who could be worth watching.

They did get 3rd place in the previous day's competition, which is fine, as in the immortal words of one member of the cabin, "was better than being last." That choice of words could come back to haunt them, but in all, they had a productive day, as they got to work on their flag, and set up SEVERAL different drafts before being one of the first two teams to lock in a choice of flag. And is it ever a beauty!

They tuned out early in the day again. The early bird gets the worm you know!

3rd in Team Naming Competition - 0 points

Cabin 3 - Slam Dunk Base

You could say things are "slamming" in Cabin 3!

While not as wild as Cabin 1's day, Cabin 3 did have to contend with an issue of their own. ParagonNova voiced his displeasure with the team, and it was deemed best for all involved if he were excommunicated to a new team. After a little searching, he found his home at Cabin 4. That is a story for their day however, and will be told there.

They also locked in a flag, although they did it pretty quickly. They had few drafts, and only one or two people who were able to actually submit a flag. In the end, they are going to go with pacman1755's design, and pray it leads them to victory in tomorrow's final.

The Cabin is up late, doing something. But I'm not sure what it is. They aren't partying, they are being too quiet for that. But they aren't sleeping either. Too loud for that. What could they be up to?

Cabin 4 - The Fighting Mongooses

If things are slamming in Cabin 3, then what could possibly be more intense?

The partying happening in Cabin 4 after a first day victory pushed them to the front as soon as possible, that's what!

KG gets credit for the name, as she has shown she will be a major player in the events going forward. But also worth watching are tj4bigred and ParagonNova. The first of who is working dilligently on a flag, and the latter who is trying to adjust to the notion of teamwork.

I'm sure they'll be fine though. They are all bros after all!

Ha ha. This is pretty cool. I actually sat here, reading all of it, allowing starwars to get a jump back on the Yellow jersey. And a free fluffy pillow? I hope it is not pink. But this is pretty cool. I am going to have to have my fellow cabin mates add this to their favorites, that way they know they got a free fluffy pillow. XD

I didn't know camp started already that was fast. Is it against the rules to smother opposing teams with pillows while they are sleeping?

JigSaw : Unfortunately, it probably is... unless that is exactly why Leggy gave us free fluffy pillows? So people can be comfortable when we knock them out? ... BWAHAHAHA!!! Nah... he gave to us out of the kindness of his heart. Or, for the pillow fight? I have heard rumors about this floating around.

July 2nd, 2012 - Day 2

Today was a pretty calm day on the campsite. I expect this to be the general feel going forward, which is totally ok. It's a lot easier to keep up when people don't go as insane.

Cabin 1 - Trailmachines: The Fellowship of Right


The Fellowship showed real passion with their flag, don't you agree? Early word tells me that MegaRevolution1 worked on the flag! I don't know the full story, but silverthundr told me GIMP crashed on him. This isn't bad considering everything. They DO mostly communicate via IRC after all!

A Rock also officially joined the team. Prior to today, A Rock was captaining a team he hadn't even been on to begin with! Funny how jokes turn into this.

Apparently, there was a breakout attempt last night, as pokemon x was already noticing the madness that caused his predecessor to leave. He failed however, and will be spending the night chained to his bed. Who did the chaining? None other than local chain expert becerra95.

3rd in Team Flag - 15 points

Cabin 2 - The Ultimate Vizzards


Vizzards are lizards? Who knew? Apparently JigSaw did, since he's the one responsible for the glorious majesty of this tremendous piece of art.

Aside from that though, there was very little action from the cabin of the Lizards Vizzards. thing1 was busy... he spent most of today trying to win yet another TDV jersey. I bet he'd be shocked to be DQ'd by Davideo7 one of these days

But enough roasting, you can only beat a dead horse so many times before the smell gets on your stick. I kid I kid. Don't hassle the counselor now!

But no, seriously, today was pretty quiet for them.

Well except for the part where JigSaw is experimenting with chemicals in the Chem lab, working on a formula that will turn the campers into Lizards. Little does he know I took away the key ingredient. Lizard Spit.

Cabin 3 - Slam Dunk Base


What is there to say about Slam Dunk Base today aside from the fact that none of them were able to work on the flag except pacman1755? He put up his best effort, and has shown he is a valuable member of the team.

However, somebody of status(?) has joined the team, as crazycatpup figures to be one of the last campers to sign up. She didn't get to help with the flag (as it was already submitted) but she made herself quickly at home, snagging the most comfortable bed in the cabin. The only one not in the same room with all the boys.

But I would definitely advise looking out for starwars293. He seems to be working on something to sabotage the other teams. And by sabotage the other teams, I mean make them itch uncontrollably for a few seconds. He hasn't perfected the itching powder yet.

Cabin 4 - The Fighting Mongooses


Oh man, is this flag a beaut! You can thank THE ENTIRE TEAM although sonicmcmuffin gets notable honors for obvious reasons. Everyone, save ParagonNova, the constant complainer worked on it, and everyone enjoyed the exercise it seemed.

Definitely the most upbeat cabin of the 4, they have been partying nonstop for the past few days. It's such a party even I, legacyme3 want to attend. They are all good bros.

However, this broship does have one problem...

KG left her socks lying around the cabin. This has offended several of her cabin mates. As such, they have filed a report against her. You should clean up those stinky socks before I have to call the Haz-Mat team!

July 3rd/4th 2012 - Day 3

This was the first day I wasn't at camp all day. I trusted in the maturity of the campers to be able to survive without their "all knowing" counselor. In actuality, I had other things to do, as in hang out with a long time friend for some fireworks.

Cabin 1 - Trailmachines: Fellowship of the Right!



Oh man... the cabin... was deserted when I came to visit it earlier today. I don't know where everyone was... but only MegaRevolution1 was there when I checked in. That's depressing... Did they leave her behind? I bet that's it. No one likes those "stinky" girls. They have cooties! More evidence pointed to this once pokemon x and silverthundr returned to the cabin. They got a half assed attempt to put SOMETHING in the competition!

I'm wondering where Snowdeath has gone... she hasn't checked in the past few days now... I'm wondering if the wolves got her. I'm sure it'll be fine. No need for a search party just yet...

Someone70 joined the team! I'm sure they are grateful to have an active member of the team now!

But really, it was a pretty depressing day for Cabin 1... they didn't place high in the competition, and are now stuck in 3rd place, which is not where they want to be!

You have to figure that the team is happy with their performance today. tj4bigred and sonicmcmuffin took over yet again. Congrats to them!

But ultimately, the real success has to be with the following bit of information.

Galacta was successful in sneaking Vizzed Soda into The Fighting Mongooses' Cabin... The entire team will be enjoying that tonight. But I hope they share. I'm an addict after all.

However, it's also important to point out that they did relatively well without KG getting too involved in this competition. This is noteworthy since they were dominant before. The only difference is that this team is deep enough to weather one camper taking a day off.

Cabin 1 - Trailmachines: Fellowship of the Right


You have to feel bad for A Rock. He isn't a one man team, and lately it feel unless he does something, the team is completely lost. silverthundr, pokemon x, and smartallec1 were the only other people to even submit a story, and none of them were able to make it on the extended podium.

So the only points they got were participation points.

On top of that, they actually LOST points for procrastinating. It feels I've been waiting on them AFTER the deadline every single time since camp started. So they lost a few points. No biggy I suppose.

Latest rumor is that Snowdeath actually found a way out of Vizzed Camp and snuck away to another campground for the week. You can bet the robo-ninja-janitor-penguins are going to be sealing up that exit post haste.

Cabin 2 - The Ultimate Vizzards


Everyone's favorite "underdog" team is here! While you get inevitable jeers and snickers out of your system, I think it's worth noting the absence of a certain JigSaw. While thing1 has been voted team captain, JigSaw is largely responsible for their team being as good as it is.

None of them were able to get on the podium with their stories, but they will get participation points. Which is fantastic, they really needed to at least TRY to gain ground on the other teams (below them).

Eddy88 and totaldramaman2 had the best stories for the team overall, although neither was particularly fantastic. All they can hope for is a rebound in the Super Mario Bros. competition.

There was a mysterious odor coming from Cabin 2. So I sent one of my super-secret-ultra-cleaning-guys to go check it out. After turning the cabin upside down... we found the source of the disturbance... It was a dead cow. Why are you guys holding a dead cow in your cabin? That's gross.

Cabin 3 - Slam Dunk Base


You know, I've never seen such a greater contrast between the quality of a team's flag and their living quarters. You'd think looking at the flag that Slam Dunk Base would reside in a messy cabin, but as a matter of fact, no... they actually upgraded the quality of their cabin. It actually looks like a Slam Dunk Base. I ventured inside and saw a gym set up inside! How is that possible? From the outside it looks too small to hold one, but lo' and behold, there's one right in front of my eyes.

As I was amazed, I didn't see jlh and kabenon007 slam dunking their way to a top 5 finish each in the competition. I don't know how basketballers party, but they were probably partying in one way or another... after all, they had the HIGHEST TEAM AVERAGE in last night's competition. They have the strength to beat the Mongooses... all they need is a big ringer...

pacman1755 was mysteriously missing from the activity... upon investigating further, I was able to find he was the one responsible for building the court... and the other improvements that the Cabin has received... that's why he didn't participate... he was too busy BUILDING things!

Cabin 4 - The Fighting Mongooses


Akin to the Baltimore Orioles of the MLB, the Mongooses have gotten out to an amazing start... what remains to be seen if they will follow the Orioles path, and fade into obscurity or become something bigger... like a Texas Rangers...

But that's a topic for another day, as KG, tj4bigred, and sonicmcmuffin crushed the competition. Unfortunately for them, some bad effortless stories hurt the team average, and they had to settle for 2nd in the team competition.

You have to wonder what makes the Mongooses so dominant, and the Trailmachines so weak... they both have a lack of a "leader". One team has A Rock (obviously a joke) and the other goes by committee. So it can't be the lack of "leadership". Could it be that we are seeing TEAMWORK? In a TEAM COMPETITION? Who would have thought it was possible!?

On a sadder note though, this team is still missing rcarter2 who hasn't really participated in a competition other than the naming one. Once he gets back from his honeymoon this team will be uber scary!

And you are right; I did say making out burgers would be fun. I used to live on a farm. We slaughtered the cows there, just like I did to that one. How else do you think I got a hold of it.

The team I am on we are all spread out I think. When you don't have a strategy and work together nothing ends up right. I feel like the people in first actually try making a strategy as soon as the challenge is started and think before they do it.

Writer's Note - I ended the competition a day early as negotiated between the teams. It's always great for the cabins to work together to make the summer more fun for everyone. Things have been going absolutely ideally!

July 8th-July 10th 2012

Cabin 1 - Trailmachines: The Fellowship of Right


Where was silverthundr? He seems to have fallen off the side of the edge of the earth lately. Although when I made my daily trip to the edge of the earth, he was no where to be found. Therefor, I can only assume he's hiding underneath his bed sheets. I'll send somebody to check up on him.

Making up for his absence though, MegaRevolution1 gave her best effort to give the team a credible entry. One can only guess how things would have gone if we had all kept to the 4 day limit I had first set. I'm sure she'll continue to improve, and could be someone to watch the rest of the competition.

becerra95 came back from wherever the hell he disappeared to for a few days. He didn't really help the team win anything, but he at least came back. That's something the team could really use.

Cabin 2 - The Ultimate Vizzards


thing1 apparently relinquished his captaincy, due to a poor computer, or an exploding internet, or some sort of generic problem that will keep him offline for a while, or at the very least, less active. Eddy88 has become the new captain in his place. And while it seems Matthew2321 was named Assistant Captain, Seishiro Leonhart proved equally competent sending in the team's submissions.

Speaking of Seishiro... he also led the Vizzards to a victory in the competition... with a Vizzed Record 1,439,150 points! Congrats to him, whether he exploited a glitch or not, it's still impressive.

But going back to cabin politics...

Where the hell has JigSaw been? He appears to be hiding out with silverthundr... I shudder to think of all the experiments going on right under my nose... I should probably do something.

This cabin didn't do a whole lot today. I feel like these are the same people who sit in bed all day reading! Quiet ass people.

NovemberJoy though, showed supreme talent by scoring his team at least 5 points (every point helps).

I don't know who to credit... but this team really was on the ball in the challenge. They didn't do WELL per se, but they all competed, which is the point of competitions. To get everyone involved.

pacman1755 has been really grumpy lately. He seems discontent with slipping behind the Vizzards. He seems to think they can go toe to toe with the Mongooses! Only time will tell if his bravado is justified, but you have to admire his spirit!

Or as I like to call them, Team All Arounders.

They may not claim to be great at games in general, but tj4bigred really picked them up this competition. You have to imagine that once rcarter2 gets back, this team will dominate all the competitions... how are they going to be stopped? It looks like it'll have to be an all around team effort.

KG thought they could get away with editing another players score and using it for themselves! Clever if I am completely honest! However, I am an evil ok counselor, and declined to count it because I am evil perfectly fair and reasonable.

The Trailmachines are really out of it... do we have any volunteers to go to that team and make them better? Seriously? Maybe from the Mongooses? We could totally level the playing field! Or not. Cuz you know, it's much more fun to win than lose.
